  • then why if it's so bad is it "too early to draw a firm conclusion from the study"??? scare the crap out of people to only say that results are inconclusive..love this kind of journalism! thanks for the laugh..one of the comments says that paleo is a mainly vegetarian diet..thought that was an interesting take on things
  • thie question was about raw desserts though, not paleo ones. there are some fantastic "desserts" made from nuts and dates, there doesn't need to be sweeteners added or coconut flours/ground nuts. I don't see there is a problem from nuts and dates and fruit, especially when those nuts are soaked and raw and not overly processed
  • I have made a raw cheesecake out of soaked cashews. It was AMAZING! I highly recommend trying them out..it's also possible to make cheese from different nuts as well. Here is the one I made, she has a beautiful website with loads of amazing recipes..not all paleo but beautiful all the same…
  • I can't eat tomatoes at all,I have been reacting to them for my entire life but only stopped eating them when I changed my eating habits to paleo. I even grew my own, organic ones last summer and didn't eat one. I have also always had an issue with digesting peppers,I don't even like the smell of them..especially…
  • Chocolate is cross reactive with gluten Here is a list of other foods that cross react with gluten http://www.dramymyers.com/2013/03/04/are-you-not-healing-because-your-body-thinks-coffee-chocolate-cheese-are-gluten/
  • I am in,although I started an early lent fast of chocolate with my 7 year old about 3 weeks ago. I am not planning to return to chocolate but he is breaking the fast at Easter. My main issue is sugar but chocolate is always the thing that takes me to that very bad place. Looking forward to having even more accountability…
  • For every round of antibiotics,it takes our gut 6 months to recover the good bacteria. I would be getting some good fermented foods into you as well as some really powerful probiotics. If you can afford it,Dr Mercola does some really good probiotics Here is an article about probiotics as well as a link to his products…
  • I was never a cream in the coffee kind of person, love espresso. It would seem that black coffee really increases my hunger,I have since been adding in a tbsp (or less)of a really good coconut oil and I found this has improved my coffee experience and keeps me full for a really long time. I use a great brand of coconut oil…
  • I use sea kelp noodles and they are great..like a glass rice noodle..no taste and different texture(I like the texture a lot). I also have some sea spaghetti from Brittany in France. I think if the source is good, like Akima said,it's a good thing..we could all do with more high quality sea veggies in our diets.
  • upaya sells them.there has been some controversy over the patent of this item, that's why you may not be able to access that site. things have been tied up over who has the right to produce the wraps. in the blogosphere,it's got quite ugly. google it and see what you can find
  • I LOVE THEM!!!!Think they taste great, especially the curry flavoured ones. I rarely buy them because they are SO expensive but they are a nice treat
  • I just found it weird. They were discussing something called the paleo code and whether or not you were code 1 or 2..apparently in one,you are able to have 3 cheat meals a week as long as the rest of the week you eat really well..these were SAD cheats Also, there was talk about how legumes are good for you as they are full…
  • Green tea sencha and citrus rooibos
  • Are you eating a lot of cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower? All of these can cause bloating, especially if you are not used to eating a lot of them.
  • I have loads of paleo/primal recipes as well as gluten free and paleo/primal treats. follow me on pinterest http://www.pinterest.com/pumpkinpie06/
  • At the top of the group there is a pinned topic about success stories that you might want to check out :)
  • I eat 70-75% fat,20% protein and 5% carbs..I struggle with sugar and this seems to keep me in check…I also am IF'ing at the moment and this seems to help with sugar cravings as well.
  • It depends on where you are living I suppose. Here in Canada we have no access to Kerygold butter but can access the cheese. Almond milk is very highly processed and it's easy to make your own.All you need is a nut milk bag..if you are in the US,whole foods sells them. As for yogurt, the same can be said as the above, make…
  • I do!The only negative research that I have read has been based around woman and hormones..there is a belief that shorter fasts work better for women..12/14 hours as opposed to the longer ones. I do 14/16/24 hours and have no issue. If you have only been at paleo for a short time, there is a school of thought that says to…
  • That's a fantastic result!Glad to hear it went so well for you and that you are feeling so great!
  • Are you meaning it was spitting the fat at you from the pot?Like bacon fat? If you cook it in the oven, this will stop it from happening
  • Ghee is VERY simple to make. All you are going is removing the milk solids from butter and essentially making butter oil/clarified butter/ghee.
  • I would look into the Auto Immune Protocol here are a few links to get you started http://www.thepaleomom.com/autoimmunity http://paleononpaleo.com/more-paleo/paleo-autoimmune-protocol/ http://autoimmune-paleo.com/autoimmune-articles/ The last link has loads of links to articles on the subject of Auto Immunity. Hope some…
  • I was so annoyed when I returned to Canada after living in E.U for years.I went to buy cream and there is that damn carrageenan, infesting my cream. The only luck I have had finding cream free of it is a liberte organic 35%.It's only on occasion that I can get it so for the most part,I don't bother
  • When I have it,it's normally with lemon and ginger coconut oil. I don't feel it makes things better for me,I find coffee generally ramps up my hunger. I like to get my fat other ways and prefer mornings to be fasted or with actual food.
  • Sugar, sugar and more sugar.I have serious pain in my joints when I am on a sugar binge. I also have an issue with coffee, wheat, dairy and nightshades(especially tomatoes).
  • If you look into Paleo Mom,she is a scientist and has written loads on Auto Immune Disease as well as other topics. All from a science based background. Here is the link on A.I.P http://www.thepaleomom.com/autoimmunity Here is a link on Robb Wolfe's site about Crohn's…
  • Not sure of this will help but here is an article that Chris Kresser wrote on the subject of LDL http://chriskresser.com/the-diet-heart-myth-why-everyone-should-know-their-ldl-particle-number
  • I think if the meat is packaged,it's a no no.Unless it's come from a butcher and has nothing added,it's going to have stuff stuck in there that can cause inflammation (carrageenan is a real bugger and seems to be in so many things, just an example). As for protein sources other than beef,do you eat fish? How about lamb? I…
