It's hard to not feel guilty but I agree with everyone else, if it fits in your calorie goal, go for it!

What an amazing transfermation! Congrats on all of your achievements!

Love seeing results like this, congrats!

Uggh, I can't get a break. My last workout was Friday. I couldn't get a workout in on Sunday because my daughter hurt her elbow Saturday night and I wound up spending most of Sunday morning at Urgent Care. Monday I took off from work to take her to the orthopedic and found out she has a chip fracture on her elbow. I…

What a great transformation. You look amazing. Congrats on all of your achievements!

Thank you Icu for your response. I guess that is why I felt like it was more of a cardio workout then a strength one. As far as plans for the weekend, I am lifting tonight, then trying to get to a Zumba Toning Master Class. Tomorrow my daughter races her Jr dragster in the morning, then the rest of my weekend is free.…

I usually jump on the Arc Trainer or treadmill for about 10 minutes afterwards to stretch out a little after lifting.

Since the topic of the step up has been brought up, I am confused about the process. While doing it I go through the whole range as far as stepping up but not letting my non working leg touch the step, but then I also step all the way off the step after each rep. Should my working leg just remain on the step the whole time?

Icu- isn't it funny how we tend to drink more when our hubbies are around? It makes you wonder if you have to drink to enjoy them or you enjoy spending time with them and drinks are a by product....lol! I think they are just enablers.....  Beeps- I will be lifting before I go to the cardio class so I will…

I haven't been to a cardio class since I started lifting so now I am curious as to how I would fare with bw lunges and squats. I will take strength over endurance any day anyway. I also have never been to Madame T's. Sounds like a great place though I am going to break my own rule and do a cardio class on Friday. Its at…

Seeing posts like this gives me hope. I started lifting heavy about 3 weeks ago. Your transformation is awesome! Congrats on all your achievements!

Thank you ladies for addressing my question. I will try to dumbells on my shoulders next time to see if that makes a difference. I agree I should build up grip strength in order to accomplish my goals, just don't want to hold myself back either. Beeps- enjoy you Vegas weekend!

I have a question for those who are further along then I am. I am thinking of using a barbell when I do my lunges because the grip strength is not what I would like and I want to be able to use heavier weights. Has anyone else tried this? It sounds like most people had great weekends. I was camping so I couldn't get to the…

Did stage 1 B3 last night. I did find out the gym does have a section of barbells that go up in 2.5 lb increments and that made me happy. Deadlift: 95lbs/12 95lbs/12 overhead dumbell press 40 lbs/12 45 lbs/12 lat pull down 75 lbs/12 75 lbs/12 lunges 50/12 50/12 swiss ball crunch 25lbs/10 25 lbs/10 The lunges were really…

I have not reached this point in my workouts yet but I am encouraged to hear you can feel the difference.

I am currently doing the NROLFW and love it. Feel free to add me.

@chuckles- the no cardio is killing me! I know once I start to see some real results with the lifting it won't bother me as much. I haven't been real consistent with the lifting because Life keeps getting in the way (I am averaging about 2 sessions a week) when really I want to do 3. This week isn't looking good either…

I have been using MFP since November. I haven't lost any big numbers but I am happier with myself. I like all the information that is available to those who are willing to search for it. I also delete those who haven't logged in for 30 days.

I try to get my protein with cottage cheese, greek yogurt, and lean meats. I do use protein powder almost every morning to give it a little jump start. You never realize how little protein you eat until you start tracking it. I am curious to see other answers as well.

I can only comment on the NROL because that is the one I am doing. I have completed 3 workouts so far (my 4th one is tonight) and I am addicted. I used to do a ton of cardio but never got out of it what I am getting now. It is a workout that lasts 30 minutes but is well worth it. I plan on looking into the 5x5 program when…

I am with you on the drink alcohol part! I hope you do take a break soon because I would hate to see it turn into a major injury!
-
@ethieman- I am just appalled to hear you had such a rough time at the gym. I have been lucky because I have only encountered very nice people who are more than willing to answer any question I have or to help me in any way. I am glad to hear there was a woman who was not afraid to help you. I hope this was just a fluke…

Feel free to add me, I average about 1800 calories a day and I am currently doing New Rules of Lifting for Women.
