I use the Leslie Sansone walking tapes, but I go at my own pace. I have never made the first mile. Also, instead of using the dvd, I will do some walking Sanson style during commercials, or even during a show I'm watching. Start slow, go at your own pace, and do not overdue it.

You are looking for the blue logo that says tops Club Inc. ? Hmmmm. I'll have to look for my cross stitch graphing paper and see what I can come up with. This could be fun! Topsi could be fun to embroider too.

Have you tried budgeting a couple of squares of dark chocolate into your calories? I have found I can have 1 square of dark chocolate when the craving hits and it is enough for me. For the hunger have you tried some berries or veggie sticks (jicama, turnip, carrots, broccoli, etc? Most times that helps me (unless it is…

FYI - I buy my Biotin at WalMart. I'm on 2.5 mg x 8 pills of methotrexate as well. I believe that is 20 mg (if I remember correctly what my Rheumy said). I had never heard of Biotin before my friend told me about it. It's helped her and it seems to be helping me. Only time will tell.

Biotin is a B vitamin. Here is a link to read a bit about it. http://altmedicine.about.com/od/hairloss/a/Biotin-Hair.htm Please, feel free to search for yourself on google. There appears to be no scientific proof that it works, but I seem to be having some luck with it. As with anything, check with your doctor before you…

No experience with perms (my hair is finally almost to my waist). But, personally, I would advise against a perm. Perms themselves are hard on your hair and if it is already thinning, there may be more damage than you'd like. Maybe talk with your doctor and see if there is another supplement to add to your daily folic acid…

I've made these a couple of times now. Both times I left out the onion. The first time I used bread crumbs. The second time I used whole wheat flour instead of bread crumbs and added grated carrots as well. They were wonderful hot and cold and reheated. I used whole wheat flour to cut down on the sodium for me. Tasted like…

Depending on the store, yes. A regular grocery store - yes. The local butcher shop - yes. Wal-Mart - NO. I've found they are usually happy to help. I've had pork loin roasts cut into a smaller roast and chops. I've had chuck roasts cut into chuck steaks.

Hmmmm. Husband does not cook. And we are both kind of disabled. I have RA, Fibro and Gout. He had a stroke about 2 years ago and his right side is still kind of weak -- good thing he is a lefty. So, I do all the cooking. I use very little prepackaged food. I cook for myself, husband and our dog (she thinks she is a people…

My short term goal is to at least stop gaining. I will be ecstatic with any loss I can get. Long, boring story.

Hi, I'm Barb. I'm back on MFP after an interesting 'life' got in the way. I am 58 years young. I have a diabetic 'hubby' who is 66; a 21 year old daughter, a 22 year old step son, a 19 month old granddaughter, and a grandson 'in the oven' due in late September. I was diagnosed with RA about 12 years ago; gout, about 1 year…

I know it's been a while since you've posted this question, but I've just come back.....again. Anyway, I have the same problem with some of my meds. If the nausea is mild, I used candied ginger (bulk section at my grocery store or at a health food store). I cut the slices into smaller pieces of about 1/4" to 1/2". I treat…

Welcome to the site. The important thing to think about (and it took me a long time to get there) is that this is a lifestyle change and not a diet. Once you realize that, it is a little bit easier, I think. Feel free to add me as a friend and supporter.

Me! I did it yesterday. Today is a little rough. 6 glasses down, 4 to go.

Hi. Welcome to the site. I, too, have around 100 pounds to lose. I don't belong to WW, but I do belong to TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). Feel free to friend me if you would like some additional support.

WOW! You look great! Keep up the great new lifestyle.

Hi. I'll be 58 in a couple of months. It may take me that long to reach my goal. I'm sending you a friend request.

Watch your portions. Try to choose healthier options. Maybe, for example, baked fish instead of fried; baked potato instead of fries. Try to get some exercise in, even if you have to walk in place for a while. Try to have some fresh fruits and veggies. Above all, enjoy your holiday.

Hi Lisa, I'm Barb. 57 years old with around 100 pounds to lose. would love to help support and motivate you and ask the same in return.

Hi, I've got about 100 pounds to lose and I feel like a yo-yo and am very discouraged. I need all the support and motivation I can get and will be happy to return the same. This is my 3rd week on MFP. The 1st week I lost 2.5 pounds. The 2nd week I gained 2.25 pounds.. My next weigh-in is Thursday. I'd be content to lose…

Congrats on the loss. I've been a member for a bit, but started to get serious about 3 weeks ago. I live in Arizona, but am originally from Chicago. Due to health and medications, it is very slow going for me. I also need to lose 100 pounds. Feel free to add me as a friend. I would love to help support you on your journey.

Hi. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and can't exercise like other people either. I also use a cane so I don't fall. About 4 months ago I tried the Leslie Sanson DVDs. I can't keep up with her. So, I use some of the moves and do them without the dvd at my own pace in my house. When I started I could only do 2 or 3 minutes. Now,…
