I thought the same thing. Almost texted my wife "want steak for dinner?"

If you check google images for "14oz steak" almost all of the pics look like this:

Number on the package could be wrong. As for the fat I'm not sure...Most of the restaurants I've ordered steak in leave the fat on as far as I can remember. You could certainly cut off the fat and weight it afterward. But really...if it looks small (and I know that's subjective) but it says 14oz it might just be that…

Glad I could be of service. I really enjoy opening up tasty new worlds to people.

A 14oz steak should be pretty large. Are you sure you are weighing it correctly? Does your scale have a tare function and if so did you use it?

Yes but Turkey is most definitely not beef. 14oz is far more steak than I could eat in one sitting though.

I like this idea a lot. I'm going to look into sports leagues near me. Trying to do a lot of hiking and biking this spring/summer as well.

This. On the days when there are no leftovers (like if I eat out or if we make something that would be too much of a pain to put together at work) then I usually just bring a PB&J sandwich and some snacks (almonds, etc.) Sometimes I go out too but it's kind of difficult to find healthy food around my work. I mean it's…

You're right. ALL THE SUGGESTIONS WIN! DESSERT HERE I COME! Happy now? Apparently weight loss is a one size fits all solution.

If you don't care that's fine -- stay out of the thread. I haven't given excuses to everything. I've already stated that I could start eating breakfast. Yes late night snacking has been a problem for me in the past so no I'm not real keen on jumping back on that bandwagon. If you have a problem with me not jumping on every…

Sounds delicious...though I'd use real egg... I'll have to try the potato thing. I've seen it done before but never tried it. I love red potatoes.

I don't have time to eat 4 meals in a day...Breakfast is difficult but possible. I get a lunch break during the day and I obviously can eat dinner but I don't get home until 6-7 anyway so unless I want to eat the 4th meal at midnight I don't see that working.

You will be able to keep up with him. Just keep making healthy choices and you (and I) will get there. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old and keeping up with them is impossible I swear lol...but it's my motivation.

It's not the portioning...it's the fact that they are there. I'll end up eating 3. It's literally the biggest issue affecting my weight. In fact I'd say my goal has been less about the calories and more about just learning to exercise self control.

It's just frustrating. My diary is open for the purpose of people being able to offer helpful suggestions...when I ask them to. This topic doesn't involve my diary whatsoever. As for dessert...that's something I really struggle with. Ill be the first to admit a major lack of self control and a serious problem with binging…

Eh cutting fat isn't really an issue. I understand what is healthy and what isn't pretty well. I don't worry about fats. I worry more about added sugars but even that I don't focus on too much

I'm not really certain how this turned into a conversation about weighing. I don't expect that it will make much of a difference seeing as I have not had a problem losing weight thus far. It's not like I'm asking "why am I not losing weight despite eating xxx calories" I am asking what to do with extra calories. I usually…

Well for one that day was Mother's Day and my mom wanted Chinese food. So yeah I'm not going to apologize for that.

If you want a more accurate representation of my meals I'd look back a week or more on my diary...
-
I don't weigh my food...the cereal was my best guess. I didn't even measure. The last few days I haven't been very healthy and have been logging things without worrying about accuracy too much. It was easier to put that though than "a sh**load of cereal"

2400 seems like so much to me. I could certainly eat 2400 if I was eating unhealthy foods all the time but my meals mostly consist of meat and vegetables. I get full pretty quickly.

strictly from a math stand point this doesn't make sense. If my metabolism slows down it night then it slows down at night regardless of when I eat. So if I eat 2000 calories before 8pm I will still burn the exact same amount of calories as if I eat 1500 before 8pm and 500 at 9pm.
