You are so right. Funny, I haven't used a belt in so long, I am not sure if I have any. I may need some soon.

I just started running this year at the age of 44 and I never ran before in my life (much). Here is my advice: 1. Slow down and go for distance, not speed. 2. Slow down some more. 3. Slllloooooooowwwwww dooooowwwwwnnnn. The best way to increase your stamina is to run longer distances. If you are getting out of breath then…

I try to run 4-5 times per week. If the weather is bad or I don't have time during daylight hours I do the recumbent bike instead. I don't have precise days because as a mom of three and a teacher I need to be flexible and fit my workouts in when I can.

I have been there. I am 44 and just started running this year for the first time in my life and I love it! Getting fit is a long journey but you can get back into fitness - it just takes work!

More booze.

This but with booze.

This is so funny to me. I have friends coming over and all I can think of is, "Should I drink coffee first so I don't fall asleep after my 2nd glass of wine?" LOL

I have heard it said that you will lose weight when you decide to, and not before. Although I honestly can say I never ate like you have described, I have definitely had times in my life when I was constantly overeating and feeling horrible and putting on weight. Your food choices are filling you with empty calories that…

I have the same problem on days I can't exercise. Can you "earn" some extra calories through exercise? It has all kinds of other benefits.

You look so beautiful!

Exercise. A lot.

Can you start running again? Do nothing else and just start running. You'd be amazed at the things you will learn about yourself and your body. Go to this guy's blog: http://angryjogger.com/10-subtle-ways-that-running-will-change-your-life-dramatically-for-the-better.html Read #2 carefully: You will learn that self-doubt…

I know you said you fight about it, but would he agree to go to counseling with you? I am a teacher and I see kids every day who are negatively impacted by their parents drinking/drugging. If you don't take steps to remove your children from this poisonous situation, then you are a part of the problem. Re: custody, Consult…

It sounds like you really want to make this date memorable and special. I would do something fun that highlights your personality. Rock climbing? Hiking somewhere with a beautiful view? A picnic? Amusement park? It really depends on your personality and what you think would be a fun way to interact.

I have a Polar FT7. It can upload your data to a website where you can track your workouts....it's so cool. It can beep if you go over, but I have that feature disabled. The chest band goes right under your sports bra. It's comfy, don't worry.

I'm so proud for you. I know how hard it is to start running when you are out of shape and how good it feels to be making progress. Keep up the good work!
-
I think it's a pretty aggressive goal, but not impossible. Keep in mind that people often set deadlines and really aggressive goals and the thing is, weight loss is actually pretty tough and I just don't want you to get discouraged and give up because you don't meet that particular goal. Good luck!

I teach middle school and don't hardly ever sit down unless I want to be a target. LOL Just kidding but yeah, i am on my feet a lot and moving throughout each class almost always. I set my activity level as moderately active. I don't count it as exercise. I run for exercise. Exercise for me is something that makes me get…

So, I have not been able to increase mileage like I want to because of work, but I am still running consistently. I ran 15 miles last week and 16 the week before that. I ran over 4 miles last Saturday. My 5K is this weekend so I am not running a lot this week, that 4 miler left me with a sore foot and I want to make sure…

You are not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, weight loss takes time and it is not a linear process. Be patient. The difference between those who succeed int he long run and those who do not is endurance, determination, and patience. Hang in there, keep up the hard work and the weight will continue to come off. :)

Quinoa is a whole grain. Cous cous is pasta.

Maybe it's your TOM. I always put on a few pounds around that time.

Actually, grass fed beef has health benefits that conventionally fed beef ( they eat primarily grains, corn, etc.) does not have. Less total fat More heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids More conjugated linoleic acid, a type of fat that's thought to reduce heart disease and cancer risks More antioxidant vitamins, such as…

I guess it's all about your perspective. I think everyone has a pity party for themselves once in a while! It's ok! We know it can suck but we can do it and be glad we did! I have a friend who is a brilliant Algebra teacher with 2 young children. He always takes good care of himself. He has Type I Diebetes and has to wear…

Pound flat. Marinade in a light Italian dressing, then grill. I vacuum pack these breasts and freeze them, b/c they are so versatile - can be used in Mexican food, salads, wraps, etc. So flavorful.

Thank you! It's great to have such sweet friends and great support. :smooched:

Way to Go! The only way to fail is to give up, so as long as you are out there pounding out the miles as best as you can, you can never fail!

I gradually felt better and better, but 2 months into running I am now really starting to have major changes in the way I feel and do things.
