  • You do belong - and if you can fight through it, you might just find that it can be your biggest weapon in the fight against the anxiety beast! <3
  • I have both complex post-traumatic stress disorder *and* generalized anxiety disorder. Both are pretty well managed with medication and a whole lot of work. The worst part is, any doggone thing can set either one off, and they feed on each other. It sucks.... but I refuse to dodge the whole world. My biggest rage point…
  • Thank you guys for all of the wonderful replies. I found that I am actually allergic to beta blockers in a very bad way - so that was something we eliminated early on. As well as all food sensitivities, though some may have changed as I've gotten older. So I am eating simply and watching for possible interactions. Ya know…
  • Thank you jhawk! I'm going back to my doctor on the 6th and will talk to him about this option. I have a big issue with carbs anyways, I'm trying to watch them, but ugh. He is a big supporter of not just medications for support and coping, so we'll see what he says. :) I appreciate this!
  • I am still on the original Bluebuds released by Jaybird - 3 years ago. Still have an 8 hour charge and are still the best sound ... beating out my Sennheisers. http://www.jaybirdsport.com/freedom-bluetooth-headphones/
  • A) TROLLOLOLOLOL B) Where's the protein? C) What on earth made you think this was a great idea?
  • Actually - I do. I lift as heavy as I possibly can push - usually to failure on each set. Sometimes it takes more than a minute for my musculature to recover. If I fail out of a set, I'm not giving up - I'm going for it again.
  • I replace some of the Bisquick in mine with MetRx protein powder and use protein enhanced milk... And sugar free syrup. They are better than regular pancakes. And better for me.
  • Lifelong fan of anime - started out with StarBlazers when I was 5. My list is long and varied, but I much prefer the anime stories that eat your soul. I've got a rather large DVD collection I'm still working through, but I think my favorite underrated one is Witch Hunter Robin. Also a lifelong gamer... Atari 800 says huh?…
  • Funny how they forget precedent: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caster_Semenya History is not on the side of hate.

  • I've battled insomnia since I was 8 years old, and even with medication - it still gives me troubles. A while back, I literally went for 2 1/2 years on 3-4 hours of "sleep" a night, and I lost and lost and lost, and couldn't gain weight until I got the insomnia solved. Sleep is very important to your health, and if the…
  • There's an early-mid 60's lady at my gym that constantly out-lifts me. I'm 42, and I do moderately well, but it's taken me 5 years to get where I am... I'm pretty sure that she didn't start heavy, nor start 2 months ago. It takes a long time. I have severe asthma, and lifting and cardio both have helped my breathing…
  • What workouts? It doesn't count strength training or cycling very well. You have to push the button to start the timer. OR (not and, or it counts it twice), log your time and exercise in the Fitbit site. It says this clearly in the documentation that comes with it. It will still calculate your heart rate and everything - I…
  • And then we have the Silicon Valley billionaire dying from falling on a treadmill in Mexico and hitting his head and bleeding out. >.< IE: These are best left to professionals... of which I am not if I can still fall UP my stairs.
  • If there's a male counterpart to misogyny, we just found it. I, also, couldn't make it through three minutes of this and it wasn't because of the language. It was the sheer idiocy and pretentiousness. An awful lot of what I heard coming out of their mouths is being trolled amongst the dregs of the Internet various bullying…
  • I make mine with regular Bisquick and protein powder and protein plus milk: 2/3 cup Bisquick 1 scoop MetRx Protein Plus 1 egg 1 cup Lucerne protein plus 2% milk. 700, calories for the whole batch, 48g protein. Top with whatever you like - I actually like the Walden's Sugar Free Syrup. It's the only one that I can stand…
  • Just so ya know - theaters make about a buck on each movie ticket. They only make money off of the concessions. A close friend manages a theater here in town and clued me in on that. A small no-butter popcorn is about 300 calories if you eat the whole thing. That and a handful of Junior Mints, and I'm set. Maybe a Coke…
  • I don't feel like so much the tea hoarder now! I have found my people! :P I have a collection of teas that I just buy randomly from stores, but my favorites are the local looseleafs that I get from Dryad Tea and a 'local' tea shop in Fort Collins, Happy Lucky's. I can honestly say that I really LOVE HL so much. And they…
  • I actually danced with him at DragonCon a few years ago. So much awesome!
  • My birthday falls on Friday next week. It's my rest day, though. However, I will be working out Saturday & Sunday. Maybe not Saturday morning, but I'm going. On Friday, I have a two hour deep tissue massage scheduled instead.
  • No. All of this. NO. I have been lifting heavy for 2 years, lifting total for 6 years. I'm so far from bulky, that I gained 10 pounds, and I'm still the same size and dimensions as I was 15 pounds lighter. Lift progressively heavy for you. Balance it with cardio for your heart if you like. But light weights, high reps is…
  • I'm all about who a person is, not what they look like. And I truly believe that beauty & strength radiates from within. But heck yeah, if there was personality and smarts there? Those judging you, even silently, for being who you are, they don't deserve you or your time. Keep doing what you do and make the world an ever…
  • They quit carrying the C9 compression undies, so I swapped over to the Hanes microfiber hipsters. And/or the cotton XL Cool line. They work really well and don't move at all. And nobody cares about panty lines in the gym!
  • I have a large collection of teas of just whatever smells good. If it smells good, it probably tastes good too. I make them into iced or hot, just depending. Use good, quality teas is my best advice. Looseleaf is best for flavor. I buy from two local shops, you might find a place near you to try. I believe that tea is…
  • I'm so sorry for your loss. Your story brought back a precious memory of losing my own mother to lung cancer in 2012. She insisted that I continue my workouts, no matter how bad things got with her, because she supported me so much. In caring for her in hospice at home, I only missed 3 workouts in the 3 weeks she was ill.…
  • Only one time has someone said something to me... it was a group of guys that thanked me for my dancing on the treadmill in front of them. I was not flattered or amused, I was quite upset. I was trodding along at my then slow pace and trying not to die. That was the last time I used the treadmills in the joint area until…
  • Pretty sure that the NYT doesn't deal in hoaxes...
  • No, he's been in the hospital all week. He has been battling COPD for quite some time, and ... yeah. :( Live long and prosper dear friend.
  • Actually, this has been going on for a few days. It's something on the back end. I had to disconnect them from both sides and reconnect them and it still broke again. It's getting really frustrating. It's also not flowing back to Fitbit. I use my PC to sync, so it's not a phone issue either....
