My shock was nuts. Any nut. I love Almonds, Walnuts, cashew nuts, peanuts. Yes they contain good fats but an healthy serve is only about 6 nuts (to me thats a mouthful) I now try to not have them in the house because I have no willpower!!!!!

If you do what you plan to do, you should easily loose weight. I heard that walking on an incline is better than running on the flat. My only words of advise would be watch the almonds they are full of calories!!!

I start every week determined to do better. (normally because my willpower is gone over the weekend). Is anyone eles the same? I'm good Monday to Friday Lunchtime but blow out at the weekend.

The easy answer is to not eat over your daily calorie amount. I also worry that as soon as I slack off the weight will just comeback . As my Mum use to say "everything in moderation"

Nick, I was also boarderline Diabetic. However since loosing 10kg everyhting is now back within health range. I've said before on this web site, its not rocket science eat less, exercise more. Just take it easy you should find you will loose weight quicker at the start. Andy

I'm glad it's not just me that doeas this. Its not so much the drink but the bad food that tends to go with it. I have learnt not to worry so much as by the Tuesday I'm back down to the pre-weekend weight and then make further weight loss before the next weekend. So long as I keep heading in the right direction I'm Happy…

In the early days I found myself having a couple of drinks (wine or G&T) to make up the calories. However now I just let it go for that day because on other days i'm bound to go over.

Congrats on the 15lb loss. I've learnt that you can make them do it if they are not ready. For me the trigger was when my cloths didn't fit and the thought of going up another size was too much. I also stuggled initially because my wife was not interested in loosing weight. However after been asked 1 too many times if she…

I have the Suunto M5 which I love, however my wife just got the M2 which does tell you the amount of time you work in different zones. Not sure if it beeps at you but I would guess that it does. (also comes in pink)

I'm living in Melbourne, I've just sent through a friend request.

Hi, I’ve just turned 52 and wanted to let you know it is achievable. I got up to 107kg and I've managed to lose 8kg in 12 weeks. It wasn't rocket science it was hard work. Eat better, exercise more. I've started going to the gym, swim, playing soccer and squash, we have an exercise bike at home (in front of the TV) or just…

You should try Kasabian Snow Patrol Powder Finger (Aussie Band)

I have the Suunto M5 and I love it, it tracks what I do and uploads to website to review all my workouts. My wife just got the M2 which is a lower price and less features, but ideal for what she wanted which is to see the calroes burned during exercise.

You should be eating all the calories MFP recommends. If you eat too little your body tries to preserve fat because it thinks you are starving. I don't think however that you have to eat the additional calories you gain from exercise?

I love this quick and easy 50gms muslli, 100 gms Greek Yoghurt (mix together) then add fruit strawberries, blueberries etc. I knock it together in about 5 minutes and find it very filling.

You need to have someone close by to joun you on the weight loss mission. My wife is now in with a weigh loss program so we both eat the same healthy food (that really helps). I also have a gym buddy at work so we motivate each other to exercise on the days when I might quite if I had no one to push me. I find MFP is…

I tend to be bad most weekends (although not as bad as I use to be). It then takes a couple of days for that to flush out of my system and then I'm back to losing weight again. You will be fine so long as you keep trying.

I find MFP a great tool for letting me know when I've made some bad eating choices, I then try not to make the same mistake again (this does not always work as I love chocolate and nuts and cheese and wine) however i do see the difference my bad days make and that pushes me to be better. Luckely I like to exercise, but I…

I went digital because I wanted to get a accurate reading each time. My old scales were only as good as my eye sight!!

I've been lucky, I'm losing weight with my wife. I've tried on my own before and that did not work. Having someone else involved keeps both of you on track and I've found that if one of us wants to exersise, we will exercise together. I've let some friends know what I'm doing. The only people who are not supportive are my…

I'm 6'01" and 1400 calories. I don't think the 1400 calories allows for any exercise, so if you exercise you are given more calories (I do like food!!!!). I've managed to drop 6kgs in just under 6 weeks. I find the MFP tool great for helping me make the right food choices and it's easy to see where you blow out. I also…

Counting the calories will still work, however beware once you stop exercising you might start to lose your motivation to get back in to it. Like the others I now find I miss the exercise on the days I don't do it. Good luck which ever way you decide :)
