Great job! 33 mins is an awesome time for your first 5K!! I used to have a problem with focus on runs, but once I stopped listening to music and started to let my mind wander, I actually find I can run for a long time without feeling bored.

Well I would say you're pretty skinny! so I guess skinny people do weigh themselves.
-
I weigh myself once a week. I think even when I make my goal weight, I will still weigh once a week. More to keep myself on track. I know from past experience, it is easy for me to get lax when I get there and ignore the signs that I am gaining again. Even WW when you reach maintenance, you have to weigh in once a month.…

What an incredible journey you have been on! Great job on acheiving this milestone!!

Really useful tool! thanks for sharing!

Good for you! Sometimes our bodies need to adjust to a new weight. If you keep out it, the losing starts again. Keep it up!:drinker:

I'm in.

Used to love Saucony's but they changed my version. Now I love Brooks Ariels.

I enjoy running, but also love to play softball. The important thing is to move, not really important how. To each his own.

Keep at it! Overcoming the desire to quit is a really powerful motivator for the next time. Put your sneakers on and go for a walk, move or just dance with a friend. This is a marathon and not a sprint. And YOU CAN DO IT!!!! (Now go to it! )

Good luck to you!! you will love it.

You probably want to run at least 3 days a week. That allows you to build up your strength. Once you complete the c25k, you can always just do the 30 or 45 min run options. Good luck on your 5k!! (they also have a bridge to 10K and a bridge to a half marathon program. Who knows, you may love it so much you dive in to one…

Pizza. by far.

Good for you! You have plenty of time to get ready. That will definitely keep you motivated.

Running burns a lot of calories. I have an HRM and running burns more per minute than spinning.
-
LMAO. love it!

I ran a half 2 days after being diagnosed with strep and had a shot of penicilian. I finished, but I felt pretty drained.
-
spinning? you use your feet, but not pounding. ellipitical is another option, depending on your pain level.

I think anything is ok in moderation. Is it ideal? No, but it is also not realistic that you will eat perfect 24/7. I take the approach that if I am under my calories, I can get it. I know i still eat fast food too much, but I have changed significantly what I get when I go (more grilled stuff and the yogurt parfaits are…

Indeed! Love that story!!

Great suggestions! I think plateaus are harder if you weigh yourself more than once a week.
-
Totally agree!! I would see if a friend wants to split one (or better yet, two friends.) As long as your net calories are below goal, you will lose weight.
-
I use a HRM and it comes in anywhere from 250-300. Very rarely is it over that, unless I do a short burst of cardio before (10 mins on the tread, for example), than the combined burn is around 450.

I have a bowl of special k vanilla almond and skim milk.

Great job! enjoy that success and let it propel you forward.::flowerforyou:

Patience.

I was born in Carlisle and went to the University of Pennsylvania, does that count? I live in Indiana now. :ohwell:

I chew gum.

That is a tough one. I find MFP to estimate very high on exercise calories. I use to use whichever was lower. Now I have a heartrate monitor and it seems like the calories on the machine were closer than MFP. But I always enter in my weight on the machine, so that probably helps with accuracy.

I did WW online a few years ago and started on MFP beginning of this year. I feel like I get more of a community here and it is free. I would never go back.
