I was sick of myself. I felt awful in my own skin and I realized if I didn't do something, I would be over 300 lbs in no time.

I would not. She sounds very immature and perhaps not ready for an adult relationship. As a divorced mother of 2 kids, if I was in this relationship, I would run, not walk, to the nearest door. This is games at its worst. Put away the frosting and tell her good bye. But that is just me. I am a bit guarded. Good luck,…

@kayayaesthetic, impressive! I have a hard time breaking the 5 am barrier. But I have to get up at 4:50 am on MWF for a body pump class at 5:15. Good for you!!

Totally agree. I am not a morning person, but switched my workout time to the morning at the beginning of the year. Those first few months, I would only allow myself to skip one day a week, and if I skipped, I had to work out later in the day. By forcing myself to be consistent, it has made a world of difference. I still…

YES! Not going to stop doing what works. Even if I indulge, I will do so with an awareness of what I am doing. No more mindless eating for me.
-
YES!! I've had to adjust my expectations and keep my motivation up.

Amybell68, I would say be brutally honest. I know there was one time when I went a few days without eating a vegetable :embarassed: and even though I was under my calories (which is always my goal), an MFP friend commented that I must not like veggies. the comment refocused me and reminded me that I need to make sure I am…

I hope he makes it home!! I'll be praying for him!

New pair of running shoes. Will probably be a news years present to myself, though.

This site has been a great tool for me. In many ways, as a tracker, a community of support and a resource for information. I believe I would not have been nearly as successful if I hadn't found this. 18.5lbs from my goal. I will be successful with MFP and all my friends' help.

Love this one!

That is totally awesome! Amazing how we can get addicted to working out. Keep it up! (and remember the feeling!)

Me to!! I'm a Penn grad and I love Philadelphia. Good luck with your journey.

Great job!! I had that same feeling when I flew for the first time after dropping 50 lbs. I was amazed at how much more comfortable I was in the airplane seats. I mean, I had hip room?!?!?! Awesomeness

I'm 5'6" currently 172.5 (as of this morning - can I get a "hell yeah!"?) and eat 1450. (I also eat back any exercise calories, but I only track true exercise (i.e. I don't track cleaning or walking around campus.) Recently I upped that from 1400 because I was in a plateau for 2 months. the extra 50 calories seems to have…

I with ya. I will tell you, though, that I have lost 60 lbs and still frequent the dreaded Fast Food Restaurants. Find heathy switches and that will help. Good luck!

This was really clear and helpful!! Thanks!!

Thanks! I seem to be back on track!

1. Lose the last 20 lbs. 2. Get my finances in order 3. Really engage with my kiddos 4. Run another half marathon 5. Make it to 2013 without having to include "lose weight" as my new year's resolution!!

 Occasional squats in the bathroom stall.

Love my spin class! I was so intimidated to try it, but now it is a regular part of my workout schedule. I feel very bada$$ when I finish a spin class! The trick is to pace yourself at first, and build up your endurance. I am not a bike rider, so I don't know how it compares to riding outside, but I am definitely a spinner…

Try Color Opps. My daughter wanted to go darker then absolutely hated it. We used Color Opps and it came right out. You can find it at a drug store or grocery store.

Totally agree!

Shoulders. And they are going to hurt more tomorrow. :grumble:

 I'm glad it is over. He doesn't need an more free press. I suspect he will be a talk show host when he is released.

I shut if off when I am done the workout, before I cooldown. (if I run, I stop when I stop running). I know I probably underestimate my calories sometimes so I feel like this may offset that.

I felt the same way when I started. But this time I really tried to focus on the low hanging fruits. I took one choice at a time and didn't focus on the 80 lbs I needed to lose, I just tried to take the healthier option each time. If I did slip, I didn't let that lead to more bad choices (I call this my "whole bag of chips…

Love this! It is so true and we need to remember we learn from our mistakes as well. No one is perfect and I for one and happy about that. It's our imperfections that make us interesting. Cheers!:drinker:

Try taking a break from the scale. Weighing every day can get incredibly frustrating the longer you have been losing, because your body changes more slowly with less to lose.
-
Take one temptation at a time. Try to choose the healthy option each time, but more importantly, if you don't, don't let that lead to more bad choices. So, if you have velvet cupcakes (which sound incredible, BTW) in front of you, if you decide you want to have one, (and you have the calories for it) have ONE. Or have a…
