I like The PreDiabetes Diet Plan by Hillary Wright. The information is sound and the menu plans are practical. My mother is quite elderly and has been diabetic for many years, but struggled with balancing her diet. This helped me to help her, and her numbers have really stabilized.

I don’t know if these books have been mentioned already: A Happier Hour by Rebecca Weller, and Girl Walks Out of a Bar by Lisa F. Smith.

I’m in! Found a lot of inspiration in last month’s thread. :)

Anyone can feel free to add me. I am a 48 year old mom and would like to lose 45-50 lbs.

Great post! I can relate to so much of what you said (similar height, skinny but not strong in high school, family history of diabetes, etc.) I am doing C210K now, but I still have 30-35 lbs. to get to where you are. You look amazing, and this inspires me to keep going. Thank you so much for sharing your story.

My local public library carries some of his DVDs and many others, so that might be a good place to check. Plus, it's nice to be able to try out different fitness DVDs and find one I like before buying.

Even though every one is a bit different, this thread is helpful in terms of where to start. And runnerchick69, your story was just the inspiration I needed today.
