I went back in Nov and I don't have to wear it anymore unless I want to. They will do a retest this summer closer to my 1 yr surgery anniversary to double check but for now it's up to me if I use it or not. Needless to say, it got packed up and put away! :-)

I live in Northern Maine near the Canadian border and can honestly say that I can't get half of these items for $1.00 each. A single cucumber alone is .89 cents at my Walmart. I pay on average $1.49 per small avocado. I paid $2.49 per pomegranate last week. Head of lettuce was almost $2.50. I can't get a bag of lettuce for…

I make mine with skim milk (per my dietitian) and in my blender and have no problem with it mixing up. I use the same exact kind as you do. I don't add anything else to them, just the skim milk and powder and some ice. When I don't feel like dirtying the blender, I use my shaker cup and add some ice to it that way too.

I was 328 (357 was my highest) the morning of surgery - my tops were 5x and jeans size 28. I am 4 months post op (as of tomorrow) and I know weigh 266 - my tops are 2x/3x and my jeans are size 20. I would be willing to guess that you'd be down more than a size 16 by the 8 mths post op! Good luck! (oh, I am 5' 7.5" tall)

I started at a 28 bottoms and 5x tops and am now in 20 bottoms and 2x or 3x tops (depends on manufacture/style). I've lost 38.5 inches. You can do it!!! :-)

Fantastic job!!! You look beautiful in that dress! This gives me a lot of hope cause I started out at 328 the morning of surgery and would like to get down to 175-180.

Luckily I haven't gotten sick or had any pains with it, so I think I've stopped in time!

That is what I was wondering. Doesn't happen with every meal and strangely enough typically only dinner - I can't honestly remember it happening with breakfast or lunch. But it's always when I am starting to feel like I've eaten enough and am stopping.

So sorry for your friend - I hope she is able to make a speedy recovery. That is incredibly scary!

Nah, I went with Sunday's weight cause I have to be up early to travel today. :-)

I used the Better than Bouillon but I jazzed it up with some herbs/seasonings. It was so soothing and comforting after surgery. For the first month -6 weeks, I much preferred hot beverages to cold ones. Even now though, 3 months out, cold water still hurts my tummy - I can drink other cold beverages just fine but cold…

I was also told no alcohol after surgery, period. "A gastric bypass patient has a small pouch [for a stomach] so alcohol goes straight into the intestine and is absorbed rapidly," said Roslin. "When it is absorbed rapidly, there is a high peak and rapid fall." The higher absorption rate makes alcohol more addictive, he…

Hmmm...I am not on any bp meds but that is a good question because my bp had gone up as my weight went up....I wonder if it's dropping now. I need to get in to my primary care and check this out - might even invest in a bp monitor myself.

I had my surgery 2.5 months ago. I am down a total of 81lbs - 70lbs of that is just since I started the liquid diet two weeks prior to surgery. I was wearing a size 28 jeans when I had surgery. As of two weeks ago, I am wearing size 20 jeans. I went from size 5x tshirts to 3x. I've lost 38+ inches overall. My bra has gone…

I have never been a big drinker - the program I went through, there is to be no alcohol as well as no soda every again. I am ok with that - I am too scared to mess up my tool to even think of trying something carbonated or alcoholic.

I had it done in April of 2011 - I had a partial ACL tear and meniscus tear, and something with the plica - can't remember now exactly. Surgery wasn't bad - pain was tolerable. Sadly I ended up having to have another (different part of the body) operated on by the time I was ready for my physical therapy, which meant I…

I should have checked-in Monday, but totally forgot! So, since 10/30 I've lost 5.6 lbs. I have another 30 to go to my goal for the end of the year. I feel good about meeting this goal. Exercise - hasn't been great -I feel and re-injured my bad knee the day we started this challenge - so I've had to nurse the knee and I am…
