Thanks for the link. Having read about fish and mercury I guess that's reason enough for most folk if a suppliment is taken every day.

Sodium, good point!

Wow, Susanswan, you live in a town named after my family clan name - my surname is Campbell

No doubt they work but some people suffer from bloating and quite a few say they taste awful. Admittedly tuna can be an aquired taste though.

No move this week - dammit!. After stalling for a few weeks then a drop last week I felt really confident that things were working again and I'd reach my 1st goal this week (under 300Lbs). Alas, not to be. Got to stay positive though.
-
Might be worth checking it again, 600 for 2hrs seems a tad high. I've just sat for 1 hr with my HRM on and it has shown 176 cals burned. Male 55, 6' 1", 308Lbs

Weekly weigh in...down 1Kg to 138Kg I've 2Kg to go to meet my first goal of dropping to 136Kg which in old numbers is BELOW 300Lbs - 299.2 Lbs to be exact.. I haven't been that weight since...well I can't remember, it's so long ago. Stick at it guys!

According to the Polar site, yes it does adjust itself. I find that the Fat burn zone (on mine anyway) is way too low. I don't feel as though I've had a workout if I keep at the suggested level.
-
Must be the week for movement... I've shifted a little too after weeks being static. This week 139kg. Keep it up guys
-
Would you make your diaries public so folks could assess what you're eating as well as how you're exercising?
-
Well done guys. Still no movement on my part, 140.5kg. Things are getting desparate now. After all the weight loss last month to virtually nothing this month: I need to change something.
-
A trainer in my gym sums it up in this way: The body is the vessel, the muscles are the engine, the bigger the engine the more fuel it needs to burn to work. He advocates muscle building. He's a fitness trainer and long time body builder.

I tend to step on the scales daily. Always just after getting out of bed and after the usual bodily functions have kicked in to play and before I go to work or the gym!. I don't expect them to show much of a difference from day to day. I get annoyed though if they show an increase and I then mentally analyse what I did the…

Weight today 140.5Kg. A week without the gym, just having to watch the cals. Slow week but still going in the right direction.
-
141kg. No change this week - a bit of a disappointment but I knew it would happen at some point, I'm in to my second month on the plan. Bad week coming up, twisted my lower back in the gym today so couldn't do CV. Trying to get some calories in the bank before settling down to Super Bowl and all the extra munchies…

I found the same. Before using a HRM I could burn 1700 cals over 90 mins in the gym according to the machines. Now, I haven't topped 1000 yet over the same time with a HRM. Some may say that it doesn't really matter but if you want to eat your exercise cals I think which figure to use is a real consideration.
-
This weeks scale readout = 141kg

I have questioned the same, so I bought myself a HRM. (I posted this on another thread a while ago) Here's the results from todays activities: two machines, Elliptical trainer and Treadclimber, 30 mins on each Elliptical 508 cals, MFP 644 cals, HRM 283 cals Treadclimber 784 cals, MFP 414 cals, HRM 260 Cals A range between…

If a daily average was needed, say 2500, would the figure on the food screen say 2000 and then add the 500 exercise cals when I did the exercise to take it up to 2500?
-
Hi Have you said that you'd be doing any exercise?

Dragging up an old thread. I've been reading alot about eating exercise calories - seems to be a very common question. I've been calorie counting and exercising more since Christmas when I became a member of this site. When I workout on the machines I note the calories (as well as dist, pace etc). To be honest, I thought…

For breakfast: I'm stuck for things to eat due to work hours. For the last few days it's been a snack packet of Marmite rice cakes with sliced ham.
-
From what I've seen around the threads, peanuts in some form seems to be the way to go! Good luck. (I've 1100 still to go and I've just had my evening meal)

hi Search for 'eating exercise calories' on this site. There's some really useful threads. I found this interesting http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/10589-for-those-confused-or-questioning-eating-your-exercise-calo

Hi http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/fybogel/ There's some nutrition info but it's for Orange. I'd suspect it's similar.

My diary is public. Since starting on here and logging everything I've found myself stopping at times when I go to pickup a 'nasty' when passing through the kitchen. Thinking..."I've got to log that, do I really need it?". In most cases it's worked and now three weeks in I'm finding that my craving for some of the stuff I…

Hi Saturday morning weigh-in: 143kg = 314.6lbs I've changed my goal settings today due to being more active in the gym than I initially anticipated being. Have a great weekend.
-
I guess you've no takers
-
Follow up: I got the results from the machine and input the required info in to the concept calculator and the result was 1197 cals. The calc here on the site with the same info gave 1117 so it's not too far out. Thanks
