First of all, congrats on your weight loss! I have had the same shoulder pain when I'm tense and not relaxed during a run. It seems to go hand in hand with my breathing as well. Try to focus on your breathing and relax your upper body. Are you doing an adequate warm up before taking off?

I think your training plan looks great! I have done 5 half marathons and honestly I think doing the 10 once would be fine for your first half but if you feel you need to do it twice, it should be fine. I was never a runner and I completed c25k December 2009. I ran several 5k/10ks races after that and ran my first half marathon this december. It's a great program. If I can run 13 miles, anyone can! Definately look into it
