It's called strong lifts 5X5 because there are 5 different lifts and you do 5 reps on every exercise except deadlift. You could easily do it without the smart phone, just use a notebook to track your progress. Typically the ap adds weight each time you exercise, but that may be too aggressive to start. Exercise day A =…

I've found the 85g of dry pasta is actually double what I need in a serving once I add sauce, or a piece of garlic toast. I do 85g for two of us.

This^^ the yolk is the best part.

One quarter of my daily calories are logged as snacks. 25g almonds, 100g greek yoghurt, 2tbsp sald dressing that I put on cut up veggies, dried fruit, 100g cottage cheese, Kaisen chocolate protein powder, 2pcs Lindt dark chocolate, 100g of popcorn, fruit and so on and so on..........

Both running and cycling and I'm male. Something about being surrounded by two tons of metal turns people into a holes. I actually had someone jam on the brakes in front of me and jump out to harass me. Then he saw the beard (I have long hair) and jumped back in his van and sped away.

I'd like to piggy back on the swim question if I may? I'm considering a sprint tri in August - but I only swim breast stroke. I can see how this would be a drawback in the open water, but would it make a difference in the pool? Thanks in advance.

Try "Our Groceries"

I have to do it in the morning - all I want to do is have a beer once I'm home from work.
-
Cooking can be both and it can be quite utilitarian - boiling an egg say. As a hobby - bread - beer - cheese (ok so it was first time) - I do all three. As an art - making a meal presentable for guests or just for you. Everything gets easier with practice. Edit - no idea why it posts pictures upside down.

I had a book on barbells and then noticed NROL on the forums - bought the book, started last February and have continued to progress. The info is there if you are open - which admittedly a lot of people aren't. But those of us that have found it - what a pleasant surprise!
-
yup agreed.

I think you and Mirrim are missing the point. This is an internet forum - a place for discussion. And you have no idea how I "feel". What I am expressing is my opinion. In order to express my opinion I add information in order to validate my position. Do what you want, I really don't give a rats *kitten*. My point was…

It was the side burns :D

Thank you, I thought it was.

You are misinformed about alcohol and nutrition. For example beer contains; Carbs, potassium, calcium, phosphorous, dietary silicon and fiber among others. I hit 120 - 140g of protein a day. If your goal for the day is 1400.............. a glass of wine is 150 cal leaving you 1250. at 1400 calories, 65g is only 260 cal for…

For a start at 175lbs 5'7" 1.5 to 2lbs per week is unrealistic - which is why MFP is giving you 1200 cal. Reset to 1/2 lb per week and have patience.
-
That would be exactly my point - I have my defecit set to 1/2 lb per week. My 25lb weight loss is ove the course of 14 months. This is not a race to the finish. I fail to see the difference between giving up gluten products, ]sugar products, "white" products or beer and wine. It's all demonizing of food groups. And Sabine…

Huh. Minimum 24-36oz beer daily - wonder how that happened..............
-
If that's really the issue then the OP has another row to hoe - however her intent was to give up wine until she dropped 10lbs. As another poster pointed out - how will she learn to incorporate wine into her daily life if she doesn't do it while in a defecit?
-
As many as I want and adjust accordingly.

Yeah .....no. I'm not diabetic and my carbs are set at about 240 per day. My point was strictly against the "unless you have a medical reason" that gets trotted out so often. If you've got yours under control, then good on ya, keep up the good work! But my original point to the OP was sugar is not the debil! CICO.
-
Strangely enough I was at a bar with a diabetic friend on Sat night - he usually drinks Mich Ultra because of the carb thing - they were out - turns out the bartender is diabetic too and she suggested coors lite. There's also guinness. Oh my - even the diabetics don't need to avoid beer.
-
Silly - prelog your wine and work your calories around it.
-
There's nothing wrong with beer. (I know it's a contraction - I cheated)

Or you could simply behave like an adult..............

lift damn you, lift!!!!!!!! No seriously - lift - you're body will thank you.

And they are all wrong. So far today; 38g carbs in 2 crumpets 26g in my maple syrup 28g in my 3 bean chili 13g in a minneola orange 13g in a key lime greek yogurt and I have penciled in 29g for my beer this evening. So we have sucrose, lactose, fructose and maltose..............please point to the one that's bad for me and…
