Mushroom cream sauce - homemade with dijon and full fat cream (NOT Campbell's Soup) is my absolute favourite sauce. OP - I get what you are trying to say - because I did that 5 years ago following the low glycemic diet. The problem is you are still villainizing a portion of your eating pattern. What happens when you get to…

What about Maltose? That's a processed sugar! That must be bad for me too right? Not. Man - do you ever get the feeling that people only read things that reinforce their already incorrect opinions? Cico and it works.

Here is 1 year for me, weighing daily and recording changes - not linear at all.

OP - check out my diary - I have a separate category for beer and I prelog it at the beginning of the day so I know how many solid calories I need.

ditto. yuck!

Well I'm going to retract my statement because in my search for a source I'm finding ratios between 3:1 and 3:2 as well as 2:1. I guess its personal taste, but every cookbook I own uses 2:1 as the ratio (and I own a lot of cookbooks).

I'm not trying to be rude, but I can understand how crunches would put pressure on your tailbone, but not other exercises that have your legs in the air. Do you suffer the same issue with say a lower body russian twist? Also are you clenching your butt when you do things like crunches and "boat" in pilates or yoga? That…

I almost knock myself out in the shower when I raise my arms to wash my hair after exercising, particularly a run. For a while I was wondering if I had sweat glands on the inside of my nose and was washing out my nostrils - then I figured out the connection. True story. :p

Stop doing crunches. There are many much better core exercises out there. Or if you must do crunches, do them on a swiss ball.

That is awesome!

This would be another instance of the normalization of deviance. I'm all for run/walk during beginner training, but surely the point to running is to run. My wife has a friend who enters walking marathons, but they are specifically for walkers. If you can't run the distance, you shouldn't enter the race.

If her BMR is 1609 and her TDEE is 1931, then at 1200 she is eating at 409 under her BMR and 731 under her TDEE. Which should equal 1 1/2 lbs per week. TDEE less 20% would be 1545. She has her weight loss goal and activity set incorrectly. Reset to 1lb per week and try lightly active.

Mooooo! Mooooo! Moo moo mooooooo! Just lowing around.

Vinaigrettes need a 2:1 fat to acid ratio or they aren't vinaigrettes. So while you can control the type - the amount is based on how much of the final product you use.

My fat is set at 35% - I'm pretty much always over - I'm down 25lbs as of this morning. Pick a salad dressing and don't drown the salad - people usually put way too much dressing on salads, put a 1/2 tablespoon on, mix it up - if it needs more add it by the teaspoon. Your hands are the best instrument with which to toss…

oh good - its almost 1pm here - I wondered when the cleanse/detox thread would start. OP - here is what you want to hear - gush - oh I did it and I lost oodles of weight and I feel soooo much better and my acne cleared up. Let me know how it works for you. Kisses/ Hugs. Can we stop now?

If you like tomatoes, just eat the damn tomato!

yup - been at least a year since I had one. Either I'm slowing down as I get older or I've built up a tolerance.........

The only time I drink pop is a fresca the morning of a hangover - something about the grapefruity taste helps. Other than that I second the idea of an Old Rasputin float.

http://physioworks.com.au/injuries-conditions-1/patellofemoral-kneecap-pain-syndrome Could be this - you could be over pronating which would throw your gait out of balance. Perhaps check out a running store or physio to see if this is indeed the issue?

Avocado's have fat (and don't tell me its not a vegetable, I know its a drupe) and beans have protein ( I know legume) but for the vast majority these are vegetables.

When you set up your diary on mfp it gives you a deficit based on a number of factors, BMR, activity level, lbs per week to lose chosen. You don't need to exercise at all; however calorie burn from exercising is over and above this deficit and so mfp gives you those calories back to maintain the original deficit. Common…

Water afterward and eat something to replace glycogen used. Typically cardio suppresses my appetite so I delay eating slightly, but I'll make sure I'm fully hydrated before I start and keep drinking afterwards.

Are you guys talking about pant size or actual measurement? I'm curious because I could probably squeeze into a 32 pant size, currently wearing LL Bean 33s, but I know my measured waste size is 36". I'm 173 +/- 2lbs. 53 yo.

You won't find much sympathy here for "cleanse/detox" nonsense. Use the site as it was intended; set a reasonable goal, track your intake, hit you macros and voila - weightloss and illumination.

Go Hawks! Really from New England and didn't think of baked beans .... B)

This is actually a genetic difference like smelling asparagus pee. I love Cilantro and my son says it tastes like soap. He can smell asparagus pee and I can't. So in that vein, it's not weird that there are so many diverse reactions to oatmeal. - Which I will eat all winter 2/3 cup water 2/3 cup whole milk 2/3 cup quick…

I'm at work crying in my chair with suppressed laughter. Thank you for that!
