I find it funny when people say you CAN'T gain muscle while eating at a deficit. That may be the case.. but in my understanding of how muscles grow you essentially damage the muscle fibers through stress and tension, the body repairs this damaged muscle thus resulting in larger muscles. So to say that you cant grow more…

So true about the depression. I've been going through a bout recently and have had no appetite whatsoever. I'm not used to having to FORCE myself to eat

How you can lose 50 pounds and maintain the EXACT same body shape. Same shape just smaller format. I'm now lifting heavier weights hoping that bigger muscles will change my shape a bit more. dreaded apple body.

I'm 5'6" and currently 179. I'm hoping to get to 145. I don't want to get too low as I'd like to maintain a fair amount of muscle.

I am just starting Atkins. My first time, and I'm on day three. Feel free to add me for support :)

I ran into a guy the other day that I could have kicked. I was in a squat rack, and in the rack next to me a PT was working with a guy. He was obviously new to the gym and the trainer was showing him some stuff. Some other asshat came up, looked the guy up and down and started loading weight on to this next guys barbell.…

That sounds extremely high. I'm 5'6" at 200 pounds give or take a few and burn anywhere between 450 and 610 depending on my effort that class

Umm eggs are a good breakfast option, and you can easily mix in some veggies. Oatmeal is another one. You could "toast" bread for sandwiches using parchment paper, or toast different types of nuts, but beware as their calorie content is high so small portions are key. Veggies are also super easy in the microwave. I often…

It is so variable so this is a hard question to answer. For me the first 20 came off in a flash (within a month) .... then there were weeks on end where i would only lose .02 or even worse gain a little back before dropping a couple pounds again. It's hard to say, just keep at it and it will happen for you.

I loved mine for all of a week.... then i realized that the info was of no value to me, and didn't motivate all that much. I prefer a more accurate chest strap HRM to use during actual workouts. To each their own.

People always says its 80% diet and 20% exercise. This is all lies. It is 150% mental. I can feel like a million bucks about my journey and progress one day and feel like total s**t the next. It is unpredictability at its finest.

I tired this during my teenage years. I found the majority of the food inedible. You could always make your own at home "nutrisystem" using protein shakes/meal replacement shakes for breakfast, frozen meals for lunch and dinner. Doing this would bring you in under $150/month. However I would recommend cooking your own as…

i agree with some of this, however that bit about motivation is a bunch of *kitten*. Motivation comes and goes in waves. What's so wrong about reaching out to others for a helping hand, is that not the purpose of this "community"? Oh right, i forgot, its just so your type can bash those not succeeding as quickly

I can't have any junk food in my house. I will eat it.... all of it... Even if it means an entire bag of chips in a sitting or two. My enormous appetite sniffs that stuff out. Meanwhile my bf can eat one cookie and save the rest for a week or two later. what the serious eff

so I can wear heels for more than .02 seconds without my feet killing. And so I can buy vintage dresses, they are so hard to find in larger sizes

If money is tight I wouldn't go to either the dietician or nutritionist. I visited a dietician years ago and found I've had more success educating myself using the vast online resources.. At the end of the day it comes down to your commitment level. Make sure you are eating enough calories and not restricting too much, and…

I have learned that the word "cheat" should be removed from peoples vocabulary. It was all or nothing for me for so long, and it has been damn hard to learn that moderation is key. Having a bowl of ice cream is not cheating myself by any stretch of the imagination.

Cutting myself while shaving over my newly popping muscles. Too many times to count, I had to really SLOWWW it down.

I started last wednesday. I'm doing Mass as my first go, and i'm really hoping I can get some decent results :)

Hello All, I'm Ticia. I have been at this for some time. I lost 70 pounds last year through diet and pretty hardcore exercise but unfortunately lost all motivation and put a large majority of the weight back on. I am trying to get back to it and would love to have some friends that can help keep me motivated and can…
