Stiry fry, bake em in the oven, grill them on the BBQ ... batter them in panko breadcrumbs or a bit of nutritional yeast and fry them... so many great options! My favs to do this with? Broccoli, mushrooms, asparagus, zucchini, carrots, cauliflower, eggplant. And can't forget the squash. Oh, and the sweet potatoes. Yum!…

Love this :) I'm a runner and love encouraging others to just get out there and RUN no matter the speed or distance, and this post only reinforces that. Go runners!! :)

I was actually at the point of resigning myself to being that "cat" lady after about four YEARS of horrible dates, fizzled relationships, and just bad experiences ... to the point where I was legitimately writing a book about my awful, awful adventures :) and then I met my current man. That was almost four years ago. So…

It's an awesome workout!! I love it. I will say that I found it hard on my knees, but that could have something to do with the surface I was working out on. I wasn't able to complete it for the entire 60 days as we were in the middle of a big move & renos, but it's absolutely on my hit list this year! I say go for it! :)

Give your muscles at least 24 - 48 hours to recover from your last lifting routine.... recovery is when the magic happens! :) If it's just soreness from cardio, then giver hell!

I set my own macros like a few others have suggested, and gear to eat over 120 grams of protein a day. It's a building block for muscle, as someone else mentioned, so while I'm focusing on losing fat, I want to be sure I retain muscle! Not to mention, filling up on lean protein, healthy veggies and fruits, and some whole…

You only have four pounds to lose. That is not a lot of weight, and a week is not a long time. It takes time to lose it, and given your profile stating you've already lost a fair amount, you know this! Slow and steady. Additionally as someone else mentioned, there are lots of factors. Hydration, sodium intake, the weather,…

Depends what your goals are! If you're looking for overall health and well-being, then I would say that you could do either or and be fine. Or even do interval training or circuit training to get a little bit from each basket at the same time. If you're looking to increase your cardiovascular endurance, then do your cardio…

I'm obsessed with running and loooove to talk about running, races, motivate others, etc. Feel free to add me and welcome, you'll love it here! :)
-
Congrats!! You are rock solid man! Great inspiration :)
-
GREAT job! Thanks for the motivation :)

Why don't you focus more on inches and tightening up than the numbers on the scale for a little while? Start throwing some serious weights around and see how you look/feel after a solid two or three months of lifting. If you're really concerned about the "last 10 pounds" so to speak, it's all in WHAT you're putting in your…

Congrats! I love reading about peoples' running successes. Such an awesome feeling, isn't it? Keep up the fantastic work :)

Even better?? Protein Pancakes! :) I make these on a regular basis and looooOOOooove them. Lots of room to tweak to your preferences, too! Mix the following ingredients in a bowl until it makes pancake batter-like consistency: 1/4 cup oatmeal 1 whole egg 3-4 egg whites 1 scoop Vanilla protein powder (about 30g of powder)…

Oxygen Magazine is GRRREATT! I can't stress this enough. Both the hard copy magazine and their website is fantastic; slide shows for the moves, lots of descriptions. I'd suggest starting there if you're a total newbie. If you're currently training for a road race, it's even more important that you incorporate strength…

FANTASTIC work! You should be so proud of yourself; not embarassed or nervous to post! :) Keep it up! I would certainly echo what others have suggested however; don't wait to starting lifting, start now! The sooner you work at building muscle, the sooner you will see results. Not to mention you'll rev up your metabolism…

Just finished The Birth House by Ami McKay. Great book! Also - Still Alice. Excellent read about early onset Alzheimers. Very real. Both are highly recommended!

We are pretty darn close! I DEFINITELY want to be in the 160s for summer - hello bathing suits! And I LOVE lifting heavy :) You should certainly start incorporating strength now though, even if it's just body weight moves (squats, burpees, pushups, lunges, etc) - no need to wait to lose another 20!
-
We're close, with the exception of height! :)
