Hi all! I'm jumping in for my very first MFP challenge despite having been a member for almost 15 years - I'm in a slump and need a bit more accountabilty. Not sure on my weight currently (last I checked it was 196 @ 5'9") so I'll update with that tomorrow, but my goal is 15 pounds less from whatever that # is by the end…

Check out IIFYM.com. I find it's a great starting point to set you up with proper macros and enough calories to fuel your body properly while still losing. Additionally, this article here is very helpful: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/macro-math-3-keys-to-dialing-in-your-macro-ratios.html I still eat pizza, a cookie here…

I'm not a nurse but a dispatcher so I work rotating 10 hours shifts of days (7am-5pm) evenings (5pm-3am) and nights (9pm-7am), and I just log meal one as breakfast, then a snack, meal 2 as lunch, then a snack, meal 3 as dinner, then pre/post workout or evening snack, regardless of whether breakie is at 645 am or 5 pm.…

I'm looking for friends too! I'm currently training for my second triathlon, am obsessed with beach volleyball and new recipes, and am hoping to find more friends to keep me motivated and vice versa. I have a Fitbit too and love the challenges, with a side of friendly trash talk

I think maybe the numbers are off here - do you mean to say you're eating over 300 grams of protein a day???

Spaghetti Squash Alfredo with grilled turkey breast, and garlic roasted brussel sprouts. SO tasty!

CONGRATS!! Running your first half marathon is such an awesome, awesome feeling! Great time too :)

Womenshealthmag.com has some good beginner routines too, if you're newer to lifting!

Sounds like DOMS! Delayed onset muscle soreness. especially if you are new to weight lifting. It can last for several days after your workout, so if you did weights M/T/W, you could certainly still be feeling the effects. Massage, a hot bath, the sauna... all these help me a lil with DOMS after I've had a kickbutt…

thanks for sharing! You can replace the flour with oats too, if you're so inclined :)

NROLFW is great, I will concur with all of the above. However, if you're looking for free workouts - bodybuilding.com website has some good ones (Jamie Eason's 3 month plan is great), as well as Women's Health Magazine website, and even some of the workouts on Men's Health mag are great, too! Here's a couple I copied and…

You'll lose the *weight* faster if you incorporate strength training now, as opposed to waiting... having more muscle means your body is a better calorie burning machine. Obviously it comes down to what works for you and what you're comfortable doing, but there's no reason to wait to start lifting! Furthermore, burning off…
