I recommend a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger, Large Fries and a Chocolate Shake at Burger King. As you can see from my name, it doesn't work either so you have nothing to lose :)

I agree with Letjog. 3 times a week is plenty wthone longish run. I weight train two days a week also. One of my issues is when to do legs. Monday weights Tuesday run Wednesday weights Thursday run Friday rest Saturday longgish run Sunday rest. Can't do legs with upper body on Mon Wed becasue it impairs next day's run.…

I run Tuesday and Thursday (40 minutes) and Saturday (6 to 10 miles depending on my mood). Weights Monday and Wednesday. Friday and Sunday off. Works for me. Halfs are fun and not too long. I don't get spinning. It's not running. It looks way too strenous on soft tissue.

Interesting thread. I love halfs. I have only done one full marathon and it is so long. Might never do another. I train under 10 miles for the halfs so the race is a great extension. Running an hour or more at dawn is spiritual and gets my day set. 10.5 minutes per mile is about where I am stuck, but at 68 I figure I won't…

Your first 3 pounds was probably water loss. 2 pounds a week is doable in the early weeks so you are probably OK. It will slow down.

I didn't even reply to our question . . sorry . . . I usually throw chicken into a frying pan with the local veggies. Yum. I'm getiing hungry. I don't use spcies because i don't know how to cook :) Meal cost is usually a dollar or less.
