  • Some nights I will get nearly 10 hours, another will be closer to 6, but in actuality I'm a terrible sleeper. My 4 year old sleeps like a log and has since she was a tiny baby, yet I wake up several times each night. :D
  • I tend to aim for portion sizes from packets (weight wise) as a base then decide if I want to add any more. Not necessarily for ease of logging, but just because I often find that the recommended serving is fine for me.
  • I was shocked by how much I was overestimating a lot of foods, especially things like peanut butter or sauces. I'm a lot more satisfied now than I was when doing it all by eye. My main "bad" was for the weight of fruit and vegetables, especially apples. I *love* apples and was really shocked to realise just what that did…
  • A snack bag of apple slices
  • It's just one of those days where I need a great big bowl full of tuna fish with a liberal serving of hot sauce. Possibly a little mayonnaise.
  • Actually I think it's the little things that make me realize how much fitter I am than I used to be, and indeed compared to the people around me. For example my daughter weighs 27kg and I can easily scoop her up in my arms and run a fair distance if the mood takes me - sure as hell my partner couldn't do that, or many…
  • Ha yes, as TavistockToad says it really is all relative. I consider myself quite fit compared to my co-workers and friends, but compared to people at my gym? Nowhere near. What tells me that I am fit, personally? Being able to go further, longer, harder on both workouts and day-to-day tasks that I could have ever…

  • I'm currently comfortably wearing my "goal" jeans! I am most pleased.

  • In my experience pea protein is a difficult flavor to hide - I tried it just as a shake with dairy free milk, and in smoothies, and it just wasn't pleasant. I prefer soya based protein powders but have had nice hemp ones, and the mixes of different types seem to be nicer as a shake. Check out a website like Myprotein (or…
  • I listen to lots of different things, I just go by my mood. Sometimes heavy rock, sometimes pagan folk, sometimes swing, sometimes a soundtrack from a film or musical...
  • Ooh love this! Late starter here too, but my gym logs when I arrive/when I leave so I should be able to work out a rough time so far from that. I'll look later.
  • You called? I was raised on a steady diet of Star Trek, which is still a big love of mine. I'm also a big geek for shows like Hannibal, Sleepy Hollow, Stargate SG1 and Atlantis, Firefly... I'm very interested in Egyptology too, a definite ancient history geek. Getting into Marvel now that my kid is interested, but I'm new…
  • I use the pulp in things (cookies, smoothies, whatever), so would just log the weight of the almonds as it's all used. If I made nut milk these days, anyway - it's very messy!
  • I love my cheap gym membership (I'm with The Gym chain in the UK). £11 a month, a short walk from my house, 24 hours, and has all the equipment I want - where can I go wrong? I was grateful that it was so cheap the end of the last year when I stopped going for a few months, though. :o £30-40 lost is much better than…
  • Currently eating a mint, if that counts? Prior to that I had a sandwich with tuna, raw bell peppers, and red onion.
  • Overeating, really. I like to eat A LOT and can easily graze all day - I've always eaten "well" and don't have much of a taste for things like chocolate or crisps/chips, but if you're eating too much of any food you will gain weight. And I did. I was always big even as a child but used to be very active too, until…
  • Currently 185 (starting at roughly 200) - I don't have a final goal for weight though, I'm just losing and re-evaluating periodically. I'll pretty chuffed when I get below 170lb, though. :D

  • Surely it must be 5pm by now.
  • A miniature chocolate bar from a box of Celebrations.
  • I'm getting there, and back into a couple. I have a new NSV in mind though - I'm going on holiday mid-July, and want to be able to wear a certain pair of jeans all day comfortably. Right now I can zip them up but they aren't comfortable enough to wear. If I can wear those it's fewer things to pack. ;)
  • My base goal is BMI based, i.e. I'd like to get down to "overweight" and will see how I feel then. I have another 6kg until I'm there. A lot of it is the fit of clothes too, though. I have a few dresses and some jeans that don't fit anymore, I'd like to be wearing them with room to spare. Then I can revise my goals when I…
  • I do this too, most of my workouts are fasted. Not a problem if it works for you. :) Often I don't eat until lunch time and it doesn't seem to matter when I work out in the morning, whether 6am or 11am.
  • I dunno, the squeezy pouches of fruit puree are pretty nice, some of them anyway. I've been known to grab a 4 pack of those and split them with my 4 year old. Would I eat any other types? Maybe, I've not tried a roast dinner in a jar to be honest, but it isn't high on my list of things to experience. We didn't buy that…
  • That sounds good and so simple, I'll keep it in mind.
  • Tight on time tonight and over on carbs thanks to leftover Chinese for breakfast, so I'm planning on scrambled eggs and cottage cheese with hot sauce.
  • It's a 5 min walk each way, which is ideal. It's also right next to the shopping centre/mall so it's common for me to go there via the gym. There are bigger and nicer gyms a longer walking distance from where I live but this one is 24hr, cheap, and has everything I want to use.
  • I weigh once a week generally, twice at most. I log it if I lose ha.
