  • Good Morning Everyone! Funny that you're selling your trailer, maureli, as most of my friends are looking forward to buying a trailer when they retire, so I've always thought of it as a "when you don't have the kids around any more" sort of purchase. But I guess it's more of a change of lifestyle thing. Don't know what I'm…
  • Had a really active weekend! I needed it as I had gotten out of the exercise habit while I was on vacation. I did run some, but really had trouble doing anything beyond that. This weekend I took advantage of two beautiful Spring days! On Saturday morning, I went to my Fitness Studio and did an hour class called Total Body…
  • I did option 3 for the half marathon and went out on my own to do it as one out and back. It was not easy and I wish that I had worked up to it more, but in really went pretty well in general. Glad that it's done! Maureli, hope you enjoyed the gardening. I'm sure that you will love it when the flowers bloom! Valmabel, hope…
  • Had a nice day! Went to the fitness studio this morning and did an hour workout class. Then came home and did the absolutely necessary housework. After that, the weather was so nice, the dogs and I went geocaching for 4.5 hours. Only found three since they were so far from each other and then walked home. I probably…
  • No idea how much I've run this month, but doubt that it was 85 miles. I was fine in the beginning of the month and did run while on vacation, but no more than 2-4 miles at a time, every other day. To reach this goal I would have had to run more often or longer. I'm at the same weight as the beginning of the month, so did…
  • Glad you got the run in today, Sherry, and all the walking! Enjoy the wedding, Laura, and hope tomorrow's run is fun. Got a 45 minute run in today with quite a bit of walking before and after. Staying with my plan. :)

  • I push through discomfort. I don't push through pain. I have (or had -- maybe, hopefully) a knee issue with my right knee. It would be uncomfortable during my run (or exercise), be sore afterward, and even swell up noticably. It had been bothering me for 7 years before I even started losing weight and getting fitter. I did…

  • My reward if we manage this is a Kelly Support Tank http://www.skirtsports.com/shop/product.cfm/id/1603-Kelly-CD-Support-Tank I want it. The purple one will match my new skirt. I don't really have a shirt that matches that skirt well and this would be wonderful for hot summer days as it replaces both a bra and a shirt. I…
  • Sherry, here's more information on the virtual half marathon: http://www.skirtsportshalf.com/ Basically, Skirt Sports is sponsoring a half marathon in Colorado on June 1st. I don't live anywhere near Colorado. However, they have an option to run a half marathon, by myself, on June 1st if I choose to, so I chose to do it. I…

  • I'm another that has been running for a year, but still can't do a 5k in 30 minutes (or even close). But I am much faster than I was even 6 months ago. I don't think that you can do wrong by just slowly increasing the amount you run. Any of the plans that fit your lifestyle will work.

  • I'm slowly getting back into my routine. Tuesday was trainer workout. Wednesday I ran (took me all day to get started, but I ran). Today will be trainer homework. Friday I will run. Saturday I plan to go to the fitness studio and try their "Total Body Strength" workout. Sunday I will run/walk the Skirt Sport's virtual half…

  • Jammed for time since I got back, but did do a 30 minute run tonight. I have no idea how far I went though. It was at least 2.5 miles, but might have been more.

  • My ultimate goal for June is to run 100 miles during the month. I will be satisfied with 88 miles run, which would be my highest so far.

  • I'm in! My goal is a minimum of 22 miles per week in runs, for the month of June. The first week will be more than 7 days because I'll be travelling/on vacation to Canada and back on June 5-9th. So: June 1- 9: 22 miles June 10-16: 22 miles June 17-23: 22 miles June 24-30: 22 miles I'd like to average 25 (100 miles in the…
  • Well I'm back after a tiring, fun, and not so fun, vacation. According to my scale, I've gained 4 lbs since I left on May 15th. We'll see how much of that is real as I go back to my regular routine. For most of the time I was in the Purina Farms complex near St Louis, Missouri. I managed to get in some sort of run for…

  • Similar thing here, Ceci. Yesterday, when I wanted to run, the temperature was high and it was sunny. Today it's a high of 73F and cloudy or drizzling all day. So, of course, I have no time to get outside. I'm taking off on vacation tomorrow afternoon, so probably won't be visiting the forums until after Memorial Day. Hope…
  • Enjoy the walks / hikes, Marla! Sorry about the drama and hope that nature will sooth your soul. It's supposed to be a high of 73F today and overcast or drizzly all day. Such a difference from hot and sunny yesterday! Of course, yesterday was the day set aside for exercising and today will be more difficult to get out. I…

  • Yeah, I guess my opinion is that I would like them to get a finishers medal, if there is one, but am not so happy about them getting a placement medal, as I don't feel that they are the one that placed. Which really doesn't make sense, as I do see them as being someone who finished. So, it's illogical, but it's my opinion.
  • I feel like a yoyo! I built myself up to about 23 miles a week from March into April and then had a lower mile week, then back up to 22 miles last week, now this week I'll be lucky to get half that! The radio said this morning, "High of 90 today" and I was stunned. It's not summer, yet! I got my work stuff together, threw…
  • I have so much to do this week!! Didn't get my run in yesterday and only got done about half of the chores I needed to do. Deadline is Thursday evening. I have got to be on the road, with everything packed for 10 days and nothing forgotten by 6 pm. Even that won't get me to my first hotel until 1 am, so earlier would be…

  • I use RunKeeper and MapMyFitness. I would be willing to use any other app if it's free or cheap (say under $5). I'm not thrilled with the pay money idea, but would probably go along with it if it weren't too expensive. I would not want to directly compete against anyone. If everyone who succeeds gets a part of the…
  • Nice race!

  • Good Morning all. Yesterday was a flyball tournament and the rest of the day was filled with errands. Finally got a run in, late in the day. Today will be work, pack, run, and trainer homework. Looks like I'll have two rest day this week, Wednesday (maybe partial) and Thursday (not going to be able to get much of any done).

  • Did my second 5k race today. It went much better than my first one! Maybe I won't let almost a year go by before I sign up for another race. :) Just kidding, because I really do plan to do a half marathon this fall.

  • Was feeling energetic today, so I got in all that I had planned. This morning was a 5k race that went pretty well. I didn't get lost and I ended up in the middle of the pack rather than last. Then it got overcast and drizzly so I got out and did a 4 mile run this afternoon. Then with my body work stuff, a half hour, I can…

  • I don't know what I'm doing today. I have to work 4 hours (to noon). I can work 6 hours (to 2 pm) and take 2 less hours of vacation next week. I have freestyle class with the dogs at 3:30 pm. At noon it will be 68F and party cloudy, at 6 pm it will be 77F with thunderstorms likely. I have a 5k race tomorrow. If I want to…

  • My trainer assigned homework for this month is: 1A Prone Hand To Shoulder (10 each arm) 1B Side plank (15 secs each side) rest; repeat 3 time 2A Squat (10) 2B Pushup or Modified Pushup (10) 2C Reverse Lunge (10 each leg) rest; repeat 3 times The exercise I skipped on Tuesday is the hip lift on an exercise ball, so I want…

  • This is kindof a race, but also not. I do flyball with my dogs. Fells is 3 years old and has been racing for 2 years. He also goes on many of my runs with me. I think that the combination of: -- me running faster with him multiple times per week -- that I am able to release him, sprint with him to the start/finish line,…
