Hey buddy. I always knock off 80 (My bmr) so the 0.63 one seems about right. Hope OP doesn't think I'm being too dismissive I just like to understand fully and it takes a while believe me! I ran 5k today in 0:33:32. My HRM gave me a burn of 515. I'm 210. I'm just trying to understand why there'd be such a difference.

For me it was 2 weeks. I started at 266 (Now 210) and I lost 17lbs in 2 weeks. It then slowed down to 2 per week after that. Well done BUT the hard work starts now :) Keep going and become whoever you want to be!!

I'd follow your HRM but don't eat back ALL your burnt calories. If it says 800 in an hour I'd subtract my bmr first (Mine is 80 approx.) leaving 720 so I'd eat back 4-500 personally. Your HRM is gonna be a lot more accurate than anyone's opinion on here so don't sweat it. Also 8lb will make some sort of difference yes.

Exercise is a bonus not a necessity for weight loss. Log your food on here accurately and you'll lose weight. Good luck to you.

Frustrating huh? However, I think your being too harsh on yourself. You've already said your partner has commented positively. In 3 weeks that's a great start. You could try using TDEE rather than MFP or eating back only half of what you think you burn to allow for errors. Whatever you do don't give up ok? Keep at it, keep…

4 weetabix with 200ml semi skimmed milk. It was chest day plus a 2 mile run in the gym :) 440 calories consumed and then mostly burnt off!

I don't have fit but WII sports. It's really old now but the tennis still gives me a good little workout and the boxing.

Burning 720 and eating back is perfectly fine in my opinion. Your allowing for errors in judgement, either by yourself, food labels or gym machines while still re-fuelling your body which is crucial. I eat back 300 calories with each workout and the machine says 500-800 depending on how far I run. Good luck.

Yep apart from Xmas day ill be running. Working 9-5 on Boxing Day but ill run afterwards. No different for me it's just another day. The way I see it the calories won't say 'Its Xmas so that mince pie he's about to eat which is 110 I'll just call it 40 for today' lol so I treat it just the same as any other day!!
