  • Before losing weight I was unhappy with my reflection, I loved shopping for clothes but could never find anything that looked right on me which upset me and lots of things were uncomfortable, even just sitting, because of the extra rolls! Having lost some weight I feel more confident, I like my figure in the mirror and in…
  • Lots of water I do not drink my calories; no alcohol, fancy coffees, juices, smoothies, milkshakes etc (I sometimes have a glass of sparkling wine at birthdays and I had a fancy coffee the morning after my hen do, only on special occasions though and I rarely find it worth it, they don't keep me full and don't last long so…
  • I have LADA and I currently manage my blood sugars very well with 6u of basal insulin and no short-term insulin If my diet is poor it usually means my carbs are higher so I then take maybe 3-6u of short term Novorapid. I have in the past been on 12u long term and 3-7u per meal short term, but my pancreas' ability to…
  • Only just seen your reply, yes I am LADA, only just been confirmed that that is what it is about 8 months ago, for ages it was a debate whether I might have MODY, but now it's very likely LADA, I just tell people I have a latent type 1 diabetes, because let's face it that's what it is! If I say type 1 they ask if I have 4…
  • 5'7" 143.5lbs 27 inch waist (at 172lbs I had a 32 inch waist)
  • I've always been told that insulin pens not in current use do not need to be kept cold, only the ones that are not currently in use (therefore might be around for quite a while) should be stored in the fridge until they're used, then they can stay out of the fridge as they're only going to be in use for days/weeks up to a…
  • Thanks :) HBA1c is down on my last blood test (3 months ago) :D in the 3 months since though I've been really good with my lifestyle (for the most part) and with blood sugar control so this blood test today should be even better : Endocrinologist was very happy with my last HBA1c and with my recordings on my log book :) No…
  • I did this too! TWICE!!! Four years ago I was 175lbs (minimum), I then lost weight aiming for 147lbs, I got down to 147.25lbs.... celebrated (even though i didn't reach my goal!) back up to 172lbs 2 years ago! 14 months ago I was back down to 147.25lbs.... celebrated AGAIN and reached 172bs AGAIN about 7 months ago. So I…
  • Hi! I'm type 1 too (well, a latent form of it so my pancreas is clinging on for dear life and will deteriorate slowly over years until it's completely gone), diagnosed just before my 19th birthday (4.5 years ago). I'm not on a pump, whilst I'm exercising and eating well I'm lucky enough to only need small amounts of…
  • I weigh every morning before breakfast, after going to the loo and naked. I used to only log on Monday's and log whatever the weight. I now log new lows when I've had it 2 days in a row, or 3 days out of a few. I'll log a consistent gain if I know the reason is too much food or too little exercise, I don't fluctuate much…
  • 147lbs I've lost weight to get down to 147.25lbs twice in the last 5 years (highest weight 172-175lbs) and gone straight back up twice! This time I have now reached and gone past 147lbs on my way to my ultimate goal of 132lbs :D I'll be honest it was a bit of an anti-climax though! The first two times it took a lot of…
  • I'm small framed according to this which I don't think is true. If you just look at my wrists they're abnormally small and out of proportion! I have BIG hands and long fingers so they look funny on my small wrists, I also have big feet and the distance between my hips bones is not small (woo hopefully better for carrying…
  • I went from 175lbs (maybe more...) at 19, lost down to 148lbs in 3 months (through weight watchers, which I worked out after joining MFP that they had me on 800-1000kcal every day and I was going to the gym 4-6 times a week!), then gained again until I was 21 and at 172lbs, over 7 months I went down to 147lbs. Then over 7…
  • 25lbs difference in weight. Not the biggest difference in my face, but I can tell there is definitely some! Before After
  • You have done amazingly! Well done! I really really love your tops! The lacey ones, they're so pretty! Where did you get them from? (I'm assuming you're American as most people on here are so I won't be able to go out and buy them, but thought I'd ask just in case!)
  • Wow loads of suggestions thanks! I'm in for an evening of youtubing! I'm going to look them all up and try as many as possible to find ones I like! OrthorexiaNer good idea to maybe class it as core, although I consider SL5x5 to be core exercises hence why I was looking for very targeted ab exercise. Kick boxing sounds fun,…
  • I've just looked through this whole thread and you all have done amazing! I've been doing 5x5 for 3 weeks now (although I was doing some non-directed light weight lifting before), these photos give me hope that I'll also be successful and be able to post some photos one day!
  • Thank you :) I got it in the sale online and I was so happy when it arrived because it's really lovely, it fits perfectly and was so cheap!!! It's interesting you both said 14, I was feeling overly optimistic saying that and I was going to put 15, but last second I changed my mind as I think I have slightly less body fat…
  • I think I'm 11 or 14 now (flexed) (relaxed) I'm aiming for 2 or 5 (preferably 5), although 3 would probably be perfect but as my boobs have shrunk disproportionately with weight loss I don't think I'll be getting my hourglass figure back!
  • I think you look great too :D Although, I think you'd look amazing with a sexier style swim suit too! You've got a great body shape so I'd go for something sexy (with a bit more cleavage on top and maybe tie up sides on the bottom!) and a bit of colour would look good too :) not that you don't look good in this, but if you…
  • I've lost 27lbs (although I've just had my hen do weekend so it's more like 24 as of today! But that should be very temporary!) and I've passed my aim for my wedding weight aim by 3lbs too, so I reset my aim and I only have 3lbs left to go and 5 weeks :D it should be manageable! I've lost weight through calorie counting,…
  • Thanks everyone :) glad to hear I've inspired people :) krennie8 I'm 5'7" so a little taller than you which should be why I carry the weight a bit differently I just properly looked back at the photos of 157lbs and 147lbs and I can actually see the difference now! :) I look less wobbly! Hopefully now I've started strong…
  • I've lost 25lbs in 6 months on here :) still got 15lbs to go which I'm going to take very slowly, but I now have a body I like much more and I'm so much happier already! I'm also so much fitter as I have found a sport I like (running) and I have been doing some light weights in the gym :) (just started a proper lifting…
  • I think it'll be very different for everyone. I can't remember when I started to notice a difference in the mirror, it didn't take long to notice my clothes were fitting better! I took starting photos and then take occasional progress photos and to be honest I hadn't fully realised how far I'd come until I looked back at…
  • Hi would it be ok if you could take a look at my photos and give me an estimate of my body fat % please? I'm 5'7" and 147lbs, let me know if you need more details/angles and I'll try my best to get them to you! Relaxed front: Relaxed back (sorry it's at a slight angle): Relaxed side: Flexed front: Flexed back: Flexed side:…
  • Thanks guys :) No doctor would scan me just for my own interest! I don't know anywhere with a bodpod unfortunately, I could try get friendly with people at the metabolic research department and find out how to get a go in one but I don't see that happening to be honest! I could get some callipers, I'll read up on them :) I…
  • Thanks for the support everyone :) it was hard for me to realise the difference until I looked at the photos! There's really not much difference in the last two months comparison photos, BUT in that time I have gotten much stronger, I can run further and faster and I feel better, I've noticed my clothes fit better too even…
  • This is a 23lb difference in the same shorts, it has made a big difference! I've gone from a size 14/16 (UK) to a size 12 trousers and a size 12/14 top to a size 10/12 top. I still have a bit to lose, but this is the difference so far.
  • I have many mini goals, every 10lbs, every stone lost and every half stone lost (I'm English so we work in stones usually, I'm only using lbs on here as everyone else does! But it means I get extra celebrations! :p) I don't reward myself though, the thrill of having reached a mini goal is enough for me! I got under 150…
  • I'm 5'7" and my starting weight was 172lbs, I originally lost down to 147lbs then gained it all back over 7 months (oops...) BUT I have now over the last 6 months got back down to 149.25lbs :) plus it hasn't been too difficult (it wasn't difficult last time) I just made sure to work out my TDEE and eat at a small deficit…
