How long did it take your brain to catch up with your new body size?
I know when people lose weight, especially if it’s quickly or if it is a large amount of weight, the mind can take a while to catch up and perceive the body as it’s new size, either just general bodily awareness or perception in the mirror I have been maintaining for a few months now, went up a bit over Christmas and back…

I’m starting maintenance and need advice please!
🥁🥁🥁🥁🥁 I’ve decided to maintain my current weight 🥳 Roughly... I want to stick between 10 stone and 10 and a half stone (aka 140-147lbs, or 63.5-66.5kg, average 65kg). My original goal was 132lbs, but I am happy where I am, so I’m going to stick here for now, I think it’s the right thing for me I have never really…

1lb lost but body comp changed
Only 1lb difference between these, but I’ve been doing an exercise class a week, plus working on my feet, and just generally being more active. I think it has made a difference. I’m upping my exercise to three sessions a week now so hopefully I’ll improve even further, even if there’s still minimal weight loss!

Looking for friends with fitness goals!
Hi there, I'd love to have some friends who see the importance of keeping active and incorporate exercise in their lifestyle. I'm trying to re-incorporate regular exercise after some time having been doing sporadic exercise and times of doing very little exercise as well. Anyway here's my about me, if you have a similar…

Non-scale goals and rewards
I'm trying to come up with a list of non-scale goals for myself, I'm thinking maybe reaching certain weights in my workouts, fitting certain clothing items that I have, being able to do specific exercises like chin ups or a head stand. I'm also trying to come up with a list of non-food rewards for reaching the non-scale…

How long did it take you to settle in to regular exercise?
When going from doing little or sporadic exercise to doing regular exercise or a fitness regime, how long was it before it felt second nature or just felt like your life style rather than something you forced yourself to do? I've just started a new fitness regime after being very sporadic with exercise and it becoming less…

Inch loss not weight loss!
This is my new motto! Who's with me?! I feel like I've over focussed on weight in the past and it's got me nowhere, yes I've lost it but without that reassuring number drop on the scale each time I would be miserable, that's no way to live! So now I want to live without measurements! Yes despite the motto I'm not actually…

Please share exercise success stories!
I would love to see success stories of people who have changed their physique, health or lifestyle through exercise, either cardio or lifting or anything else! I'm just starting a new exercise regime and I'm not going to focus on weight, I would like my shape and size to change, but I don't care if that means losing or…

Motivational thoughts
What motivational thoughts do you tell yourself to keep on track or to stay positive or to prevent a binge etc? I just keep telling myself: "You CAN do this!" "You CAN be slim!" "In three months youll regret it if you don't try your hardest now" So what phrases do other people tell themselves?

Shedding for your wedding?
I'm looking or friends who are shedding for their wedding! I'm getting married August 23rd! I have my dress fitting 6 weeks on Saturday! I bought the dress when I'd lost weight (from a starting weight of 172lbs) and was at 147lbs, I then put on weight and reached back to 171.5lbs thanks to a stressful semester of studying…

Goal outfits
Do/did you have an outfit in your goal size? Either a new item or something you used to fit that you want to get back into? I had a pair of shorts that I wanted to get into and successfully managed that, I really liked having a goal piece of clothing! Now however I am intending to continue losing to get to my goal size and…

Progress photos - how often?
I'm only just starting out, I've taken my starting photos and was just wondering when I should be putting my next ones to take into my diary? Do you take photos once a month, every other month, less frequently than that? I know there's no point taking photos every week or more often than once a month, but is even once a…

5'7" women, what's your goal weight?
I find goal weight setting a very odd concept! Unless you've been there before and since gained weight there's no way to know what will work on you! I originally had a goal of 147lbs, but reached it and then regained and had to start all over (twice...) this time I have gone with a goal weight of 128lbs, with a maintenance…

Appointment with endocrinologist tomorrow
I have lost 14lbs (6.5kg) since I last saw him :D (3 months ago) Am I a horrible person that I'm hoping to see a moment of panic on his face when he sees I've lost weight and he assumes I've been badly controlling my blood sugars and lost weight for that reason??? Obviously I'll let him know I've been well controlled and…

Back pain during squats
Any common form issues that would cause me to have back pain during squats? Been at this about 3 weeks started squatting 15kg, pain started today on 40kg. As far as I know my form hasn't changed. Pain starts as soon as the weight is on my shoulders and the whole way down and up, when the weight comes off the pain reduces…

Abs work-out routines, suggestions? What do you do?
I'm currently doing strong-lifts 5x5 (only started 2-3 weeks ago) and on top of that I do bicep curls (on the pulley-system to try to isolate my biceps better), tricep dips and pull ups (on the assisted system which counteracts some of my weight) and high row on the pulley system again when on a weight lifting day. I've…

Reached my original weight loss goal this week!
I started at 172lbs with a goal of 147lbs in Nov 2012. May 2013 I reached 147.25lbs, so close! Then I regained everything by Christmas 2013 :( I refocused at the beginning of this year and this week I have reached 147lbs!! I reset my goal in the mean time to be 132lbs, the next 15lbs are going to be a very slow loss though…

Body fat percentage measurement?
Best free way to do it? Is the Navy Body Fat Percentage Calculation at all accurate? There's some scales in my local pharmacy which measure height, weight and body fat % for 70p, are they likely to be accurate? Anyone want to guess from photos?! Would that even work?! Who knows! It's just for interest as I'm nearly at a…

Hi everyone :) I was diagnosed with T1DM aged 18, I've now had it for just over 4 years. May Challenge Success!
I've been losing steadily all year but I was in a bit of a rut and wanted to increase my fitness and hopefully keep my weight loss moving rather than hitting a plateau which I expected to happen as it happened around this weight last time! So I set myself a May Challenge which was 25 days of exercise in May, only 6 rest…

Sartorius injury? Advice?
So my right knee started hurting on the 23rd May (last Friday) during a run, over the next few days it continued hurting and the pain spread into the medial/anterior region of my thigh, still just above the knee. Over the next few days it spread up towards my hip. Now, 8 days later, it is very painful just medial to my…

My Mum said this to me today....
I said "I've finally reached 11 stone exactly this morning" and she said "you must have stones in your bones because you look less than 11 stone" It made me giggle! :p I'm so glad I have a supportive family, they're always complimentary and they're all for me getting fitter and healthier :) I've read on here how some…

Combined and progesterone only contraceptive pill
I've been on the combined (microgynon) for 7 years, I gained about 14lbs when I first went on it, which I wasn't surprised about, nor did it bother me at the time. I've just had some worrying neurological symptoms so my doctor had taken me straight off of it and put me on the progesterone only pill (cezarette). Anyone have…

Today is a NSV day for me!
So I've been doing a May challenge which involves exercising at least 25 days in May. I'm on track with one day off left to choose (took 3 over my birthday weekend!). Mondays are weigh in and measurement day. In three weeks I have eaten/exercised to create a deficit of 500kcal/day so as to lose a pound a week. I have only…
