  • I'm the same way, and it's really the only thing that's ever worked for me. I meal prep on Sunday for the entire week, and it's the same thing every week -- breakfast sandwich for breakfast; sweet potatoes/brown rice, broccoli, and seasoned chicken breast for lunch. Dinner varies. I find myself actually looking forward to…
  • Yeah, I take mine with a grain of salt. I use it more for steps and sleep logging, but it seems to usually be in the ballpark of accurate... On my days off, I usually barely crack 2,100... Which seems about right given my BMR.
  • I meal prep and weigh everything, so I know how much I'm eating. That's what's so frustrating. I'm eating the same exact thing now as I was two months ago, and everything just came to a screeching halt. The first dress size and eighteen pounds came off the first month -- and now nothing.
  • I've never buttoned the bottom button on my chef's coat because it fit too tight around my waist... I would have to button it up high and pull it down over my hips to even get it buttoned. The other morning something didn't look right when I put my coat on, and without realizing what I was doing, I buttoned it with no…
  • I used to think that meal preppers were nutters, and that I could never stick to it. Then I tried it. I love knowing what I'm going to be eating every day, and I actually really enjoy eating the same thing over and over. Sometimes its nice to not have to think about putting your meals together, and just... eat.
  • Breakfast sandwiches are awesome. I know you said you don't each much bread, but I do mine on 100 cal, whole wheat english muffins... gets my grains and some fiber in. You could also do breakfast burritos in low calorie wraps. Can put pretty much anything in them, too.
  • Those commercials are so dumb. Let's let the lady who's known almost as much for her yoyo dieting as for her media empire be our new spokesperson... Alrighty then.
  • It takes 24-72 hours to process food. If you eat three pounds of food directly before bed and then weigh yourself eight hours later, your body hasn't had the chance to burn off hardly any of what you took in. It has nothing to do with fat gain/loss -- just food waste.
  • Nay for me. I would hate to live like that... only 52 days out of the year that I can eat what I really like? No thanks. If the family orders pizza for dinner, I cut a slice in half and eat that with some veggies. I usually eat 200-300 calories a day in nothing but chocolate or graham crackers. Life's too short, ya know?
  • No single set of data points truly mean anything out of context. I've lost close to twenty pounds, but in theory, the majority of that could be water weight. I've lost around an inch off of my hips, and a half inch off of each thigh, but that's "about it." However, the chest/waist/hips/thighs measurements don't tell the…
  • There's quite a few areas between the two that don't sync up very well. Another one is my current weight... I weigh pretty much every day, including this morning, which I updated the app with. Logged in to the website, and my last updated weight was from a week ago. Kinda weird.
  • I've lost roughly fifteen pounds, and even though I haven't done anything different with my hair or makeup, I keep getting compliments on how much better they've been looking lately. It must all be coming off my face, lol.
  • If you don't mind me asking, how tall are you? I have very similar beginning and goal weights.
  • What do the bars mean? I see them every time I venture into a thread like this but have never seen any explanation for them.
  • That is my new favorite reaction gif of all time. Jesus Christ.
  • Thanks for the responses, everyone. It'll be easier to just respond to everyone at once -- 1. I'm for sure looking into self defense classes, but I live in a fairly small town where there aren't a lot of options. There is a dojo, so I'm going to look into that. 2. I'm going to go in and talk to the store manager tomorrow.…
  • Yoplait Greek 100! A gram more protein than the Chobani 100 cups, same amount of sugar, and taste way better imo. They're the best Greek yogurt I've tried... And that's coming from a long-time Chobani fangirl.
  • I've lost about fifteen pounds (I started at 198, and started logging at 195), but I've done my best to convince myself it's all water weight so that if it is, I won't be disappointed when trying on new clothes. I have a pair of ripped jeans that used to be my "fat pants", but over the years have gotten so tight it looked…
  • You can add me :) 22, from the US. I have about 40 pounds to lose, but really just want to get toned overall.
  • As a former vegetarian/vegan, it's really more subjective than your question suggests. There were times that I subsisted on nothing but fries and bread, and other times that I ate more kale than a celebrity cutting for a movie. When I made an effort to eat healthy, it was easy because all of the foods available to me…
  • I generally leave myself about 200 calories a day for chocolate. I hit my protein macro the rest of the day and it keeps me full, so why not? It also keeps me from bingeing (I feel like I didn't spell that correctly). I would rather allow myself a little every day than deprive myself all week and eat 2,000 calories in…
  • My dad took Phen-Fen in the nineties, a mix of that and Fenfluramine. It helped him lose weight, but when he came off of it, the cravings were so strong he ended up turning to meth. Sounds like a bad afterschool special, but sadly true. Just be careful.
  • Don't have a lot of advice to offer, but I can sympathize. Got home yesterday and wanted to self-soothe with food, but didnt... ate a healthy dinner with lots of protein instead. Actually felt strangely mad at myself for feeling better without eating crap. Actually, I find that protein tends to help a ton.
  • If there is, how would I go about fixing it? Or would I have to go exchange it for another one?
  • Thanks for the answers ☺ I'm on my feet all day, but I'm in a confined area. To test it at one point, I checked it, and then checked it five minutes later after taking maybe twenty steps... It logged over five hundred. I'm really not concerned about the extra steps themselves, just the calories it adds for the MFP…
  • @clobern80 so is it any of the four? Or a combination? I've always wondered. I'm on my feet all day for my job, but don't exercise regularly. Would that put me in Sedentary or Lightly Active?
  • I've lost and gained the same ten pounds about a dozen or so times over the last few years, so I'm just aiming to get past those. I've got three pounds to go. I think if I can break that number, I'll be fine. Most of it's water weight, but constantly giving up has done a number on me mentally.
  • Nike Training Club is my fave. They have multiple plans you can join, or you can find one just for the day. Comprehensive, spot training, beginner, expert... all there.
  • Yoplait Greek 100's in vanilla are my new go-to. I've been a Chobani fangirl forever, but the Yoplait actually has a gram more protein, and the flavor is better. That, dark chocolate, and a cup of home made fruit salad is my dessert every night.
  • Those brownies are amazing. They're especially good if you eat them frozen.
