  • Glad you reposted!! *thumbs up* I am in Adelaide. Woo Hoo to a fellow South Aussie! Which mine are you on? I come from Leigh Creek! Anyway, add me too if you want motivation and general swapping of info. BTW, I am on week 3 of C25K, and I looove it! Give it a try. I live on a country road that is 100kph, so I don't go…
  • I am in the middle of week 3 with the C25K program and, yes, anyone can do it!! The best thing is that you take it at your pace. If you feel that you need to repeat a week, then you can. If you need to have a couple days inbetween, then you can. I have the app on my iphone and sync it with my music. When I need to start…
  • wow - how interesting! We don't have our weight on our drivers licence over here (Australia). Thank God too. I would be mortified to have that printed on the licence!!
  • Fantastic! And it means more coming from a stranger, who doesn't need to say anything or feels like they have to sugar-coat what they say!! BTW, this is a bit naive, but what does NSV stand for??? :embarassed:
  • That is a great motivational saying.....I haven't actually heard that one before. Thanks for sharing and, YES, keep up the good work!!
  • hey, giving birth is not the only reason for a week bladder or weak pelvic floor muscles. I have had two children and I have no problems at all with leaking. I think it has to do with for years I use to hold my wee in for as long as I could before going (even as a baby my mum said I could hold forever when I was out but as…
  • Good job Russell! :smokin: Yep, keep it safe and go only as hard as you feel you can.
  • Everyone on here is just absolutely AMAZING!! Thanks for posting your pics - I am now going to check this out regularily to keep my motivation up......and one day I too can post my pics (and, boy, do I have a really bad one taken in Bali just before I started to get serious with exercise and diet!)
  • Hi all Well, today I rescheduled a meeting with a friend just so I can fit in my W3D1 and I am so glad I did. I was quite sore this morning from my weights session, but I stretch alot and I know this has helped heaps! I did find the first 3 min jog okay but the second one I had to stop for a few secs to rest my legs BUT I…
  • Hi Erin By what I can see, alot of people eat some of their exercise calories. So, if you burnt 800, you could maybe eat back 400. Some nuts (protien), protien shake, milk fruit smoothie with yoghurt?? I am not worried at the moment about eating back my exercise calories, because I could easily find good food to eat but I…
  • i completed week 2 yesterday, which I posted in the other thread. Tomorrow I am meeting a friend but intend to start Week 3 in the morning, even though I am going to do an hour circuit session tomorrow night. I figure I have a full day to get over my C25K!! I'll let you know how I go!
  • Crappy day - sorry! Only 119 cals recorded before I threw my HRM off and completed the final 10 mins of my weight training!! It was annoying and freaking out for some reason. Anyway, I wouldn't have clocked much more in the 10 mins, so 119 it is! At least I know the rest of the week I will def do more than 200.
  • Don't look at my photo to make a decision on what I use BTW!! I use what my gym recommended and I absolutely love it. It is BNRG Proto-whey 100% pure hydrolyzed whey protien. 2 scoops mixed in a glass of water, mixes extremely well and tastes amazing. I have had to use milk in the past with other stuff, but this is…
  • I think I need to reassess what I am doing in regards to exercise. I call myself a newbie, but in reality I have been exercising with meaning since August. I do 1/2 hour, 2 times a week with my trainer on the weights, one hour at night with a cardio group session and I have recently completed W2 of the C25K. In my weight…
  • WOW! :smokin: I am really not pushing myself then, am I?? Mind you, I would be dead if I did what some of you are doing, so I will take baby steps. All your answers are so inspirational and I know that I can keep pushing, bit by bit, until one day I can say "I burnt 1000 cal today"! Thanks SO MUCH for opening my eyes.…
  • I did it!! I finished W2D3 yesterday. I honestly didn't think I could, due to my thighs being really sore from the previous days weight session BUT I DID IT! So, do I continue to write on this thread for W3, or is there another thread somewhere else that all of you are on??
  • I think shins are a common part of the legs to hurt or get easily injured while jogging/running. Are you stretching the shins and calves? If not, def do toe pointing stretches and calf stretches throughout the day. My right shin is 'tight' but it isn't a problem (yet) and I just try to do HEAPS and HEAPS of stretching -…
  • If you feel like a lost soul in the gym, get yourself a trainer to help you sort through the mass of machines and to know what to do. A program is what you are looking for. I say YES to weights too. I have been a yoyo weight-loss candidate for years and I only concentrated on cardio and food. I joined my local gym and have…
  • Really?? I didn't know this. I too could eat the whole house, and sometimes I do! I hate it cos I feel that I am wasting all that good work that I did 2 weeks beforehand. I would (will) try the extra protien and see if that helps!
  • Hell Yeah!!! My sentiments as well. I flirt here or there def did not hurt anyone, it can help boost flagging esteem and make you want to work out more and harder! If I was hit on at the gym, which I hope not at the moment cos the time I go there is when the oldies go (LOL), I would be so flattered and glad that I am…
  • that would totally freak me out!! I hope it all ends up well for you.
  • Being Monday over here in Oz, I did my gym workout this morning and clocked 330 cal. I can actually see this game as a HUGE incentive to get me moving every day!! Woo Hoo! Lets kick his big white butt!! :o)
  • Hi polarcubby I have never heard of 'runkeeper'. Is this mainly an American site or can anyone in the world join in? I am going to check it out now but if I can't join up, I will be on here to spur you on (and vice versa!!). N.B. Just checked it out. Unfortunately I jog on a treadmill because without having to actually…
  • I haven't heard that exact expression but I know that fruit is full of fructose which is a sugar. Eating 1 or 2 small pieces a day is ample when you are trying to lose weight AND only eat fruit by itself is something else I have heard.

  • Well, I am eager to join but I am on the other side of the world (Australia) which means I am a day ahead of everyone (it is 8.30pm on the 16th right now). Would this affect the logging?? Do we have to do 200 a day or just so it tallies up to 1400 in the week?? I am on the C25K but only do that every other day when I am…
  • Thanks TexasNana41 I looked back and also found the thread about the person who finished the C25K and how they found it. I am looking forward to continueing the journey with people from this thread. I am actually quite excited!!
  • WOW! Thank you sooo much for writing this post. I am will be doing W2D3 tomorrow and actually wonder if I will be able to do the 20 min straight in the future. I started in Jan but gave up after a week because my muscles in my thighs just couldn't cope with the jogging and I was soooo out of breath, it gave me stitches.…
  • Hi all I have come back to MFP after a looong time away...... in the last couple of months I have joined a gym and started doing 2 x week weight sessions. After feeling myself getting fit and strong enough I started the C25K again. I tried it in Jan but my legs werent strong enough to complete the run. So, here I am,…
  • That is awesome! Good job. *thumbs up* (cos I haven't been on here for a while.....what is NSV?? Can't work it out!!)
