Honestly cooking/prepping is just my preference, I enjoy doing it now that I don't HAVE to do it for my kids any more. I know a lot of people scream about Lean Cuisine and WW meals but several years ago I LIVED on WW meals because it was easier and portion controlled. I'd just add some veggies to them. And the nutritional…

Total Daily Energy Expenditure. It's the approximate number of calories you use in a 24 hour period including sleeping, going to work, exercising, etc. BMR is just the number for your organs to function, to keep breathing. I live alone as well. On weekends I make 2 healthy meals and that's what I take for lunch every day…

Proud of you!!!

^^^^ Yup. Try doing leg raises with a weighted exercise ball between your ankles... one of the small ones, 1 - 3 pounds. That'll tighten it up some.

iifym.com has a bmr and tdee calculator. Most people set their calories at TDEE - 20% to start. Just remember TDEE includes your exercise so once you begin exercising you'll need to recalculate your activity level, changing your TDEE.

Your BMR is 1370; you shouldn't be eating less that that. Why aren't you cooking? It doesn't look like you're eating any real food. If Weight Watchers was working for you continue on it and just track your calories here. Eat like you would normally eat on WW for a week and see what the calories come out to. Then manually…

This is so true. And you definitely don't sound stupid, you sound normal. Honestly if I happen to notice a heavy person at the gym I think "good for them for being here getting healthy and strong". You'll do great

Ahhh, I love chocolate covered gummy bears. What an evil invention. The one way I can avoid eating when I'm bored (mostly at work when I'm all caught up) is to have no food around. None. Then I'll just have a cup of hot tea because that's my only option. Now if I could just get everyone at work to keep no food around too…

I just started using Ziplist too, I can pull in the recipes ingredients from Skinnytaste. I have an android also and I was using "Out of Milk". Ziplist is way better.

That depends on your fitness level and the intensity of the workouts. I always work out in the morning; occasionally I will go back to the gym after work if I've had a particularly rough day. Listen to your body for the 2nd workout and adjust according to how you feel, work out at your own pace.

Yup, Skinnytaste.com is awesome. Rather than spend $ on lunch out find at least one recipe a week off Skinnytaste and make it for the family with the money you don't spend on eating out. Do the same for a few weeks instead of Chinese takeout. Since you didn't make it and were embarassed the last time you tried walking your…

This thread is awesome. So many of us share the same "strange" eating habits ... maybe we're not so strange after all. The only one of mine I didn't see here: If I have an omelette I need to cut it into same size, even squares. And have exactly enough toast (english muffin, whatever) for a bite with each of those squares.…

Glad you posted that link; interesting read. OP, I have a friend that was (is) in the same situation as you are; she needs to drop about 30 pounds but she also runs half/full marathons every few months. She hasn't had much luck with the weight loss but she's also 56 years old which I'm sure is making it more difficult. IMO…

I'm 52, menopause since two months ago, perimenopause for about a year before this. During my "perimenopause" time I gained about 15 pound. However I had also allowed my eating habits to go crazy so I never really connected it with being perimenopausal, just with eating junk. I've managed to lose by cleaning up my eating.…

I think you did a great job and spent a lot of time putting that together. Thank you. Admittedly a ketogenic diet produces the fastest weight loss. Most people look better, there is no puffiness or water weight so your muscles show. It's difficult to stick with though. You have to be constantly creative with your recipes;…

Maybe if snacking is your downfall you shouldn't snack. Instead you could make your meals a little larger (add a fruit or veggie) and split them into two parts ... 1/2 your lunch at noon, the other half at 2:00, one half your dinner at 5:30, the other half at 7:30.

When I run I use the over the ear ones ... sony makes nice flexible ones and they don't fall off/out. I think I got them at Target. With the $75 I'd get a 15 pound body bar and a personal trainer session.
