@SideSteel - Yes, the loss was 225 to 185 from November until this week. The symptoms haven't been too sever, so I haven't changed anything. But, I'm afraid they are getting stronger as I continue. Your 2 week idea seems to follow the spirit of the previously mentioned article, btw. I can hardly imagine the comparative…

I like how in this case, taking a break was actually reinforcing healthy habits. Thank you for your perspective.
-
It feels so wrong, but I bet it'll taste just right. Yum.
-
Sardesc, while I'm not sure how to account for your results mathematically, I do believe you. I'll keep my fingers crossed that similar serendipity falls on me.
-
It's nice to know that I'm not alone in this, ryry. And, congratulations on your progress towards you goal!

You are right about it being difficult mentally. I haven't even adjusted the deficit yet, and I'm already dreading the slow down. I guess I had some unrealistic expectations about riding this thing all the way to the end of my ticker.

This is an interesting and very applicable read. Thank you!

Thanks for that tip about avoiding the binge... I'd be even more upset if I gained a bunch of weight back.
-
@PU - I guess it looks like I don't have too much of a choice. Thanks for sharing your personal experience. It sounds like you've been there and done that already.

Good point. I'm considering this option too. Perhaps instead of a break I might opt for a smaller deficit. BUT, it requires so much patience....

At about an hour and 10 minutes, he goes full conspiracy theory! Basically says that the United States government doesn't want you to have fiber. WTF?

I don't think Lustig mentions PopTarts by name. You're good.
-
I think we just had the same thought! :drinker:

ice. just eat ice.

This guy got really deep into the bio-chemistry of the metabolization of the different forms of sugar, and I just sat here eating PopTarts.

Don't get your panties in a knot. Read the rest of the thread... the video is still playing over here. It's just loooooong.
-
...still watching. It's so long, ugh.
-
Uh oh, are we going to have this conversation again, MFPs?
-
That's an hour and a half!
-
I can confirm this.

Every 6-12 months I cleanse my hard drive. I always feel better after that.

I was following along until he said that you gotta want it more than sleep. Then he lost me. :^D

The bar on the front is adjustable for height. While I haven't engineered a weight rack, I bet that the bar would be nice to have if you are planning on missing a rep.
-
Try a low-bar squat with your legs and feet at about 30 degree angles, and get your thighs below parallel. You'll feel it.
-
I just got done working on that machine, and I can confirm that it worked everything.
-
Solid advice here^^^^. If you don't allow yourself some fun, eventually your tastebuds might rebel.
-
Thanks everyone. You all seem pretty reasonable, and your opinions are a basically the same as mine. I've heard a lot of fuss about natural and 'whole' foods and that thought that I'd get a few opinions in order to make sure there's not something that I'm missing.
-
Um, it wasn't me?
-
I don't do this personally, but the math is plausible. Over a long enough timeline, it appears that your loss would gradually slow, and then your weight would eventually stabilize at the new level as predicted by your caloric intake.
-
Nah, I saw it. But I refuse to acknowledge going off topic. You just can't keep up with my realness.
