I get all nice and tell everyone how much I love them and how awesome they are, and then I eat all the food available.

I find that I can only cut weight for so long before my body rebels and demands food -- FIRMLY -- When I hit this point, where my body is less willing to cooperate with loosing weight and begins making life difficult, I just give my body some food for a while, and try to keep myself healthy with exercise and a moderate…

I've been at it for 10 months now. I've had plenty of binge days too, but IIFYM and calorie counting definitely worked for me. I've lost about 75 pounds, and plan to lose a few more.

Jonnythan, thank you for that find! And thank you Cristina for the original post. I've wondered about this topic for a while now. Unfortunately, I finished reading that study feeling even more confused than I was before, but at least I know that scientists are looking into the subject and don't seem to have many firm…

Eat back your exercise calories. Control your diet to lose weight. Exercise to get fit.

I don't agree w/ these. How about: Eat an amount of calories that is equal to your total energy expenditure.

How is this one a disorder? In its extremes, I could understand that there might be a problem (Bulimia?), but what might be wrong with ingesting a extra thousand calories, say in the form of pizza, and then having a nice long run to burn it off?

Here's my routine: I lift weights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I've been reading 'Starting Strength' by Mark Rippetoe, so I'm trying to use big movements and lift heavy. I also do cardio on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays. Saturdays and Sundays tend to be 1-3 hours of moderate intensity on an…

Unfortunately, I don't have any big breaks planned until May. I'm not sure exactly how or when I'll execute my break and/or deficit-reduction (can't believe I just used that term outside of politics, lol), but I agree that it would be nice to be free over vacation. I doubt that I'll be doing insanity though.... that looks…

Thanks for your advice. It seems that everyone is reaching a consensus, too. I'm pretty stubborn, but I am starting to reconsider this one because you all seem to know a thing or two about this. Having energy and continuing to lose weight would be great, I suppose, even if it is a bit slower.

I sympathize with your feelings about working out with too few calories to recover. Something always seems sore.... You picked the right time of the year for a break, too.
