  • That's awesome! I'm down 20 pounds in 1.5 months and I have about 50-ish more to lose until I hit my first goal. Feel free to add me! I think a good goal for me is 40 pounds in 6 months, but I'll definitely play along with you. :)
  • Hi! I walk 5 miles a day for work (2.5 there, 2.5 back) and that seems to have worked for me thus far. With winter (and snow) coming, I will definitely have to change my fitness regime. The plan is to walk to work as much as possible until January, when I will start driving to work for the next two months and instead of…

  • One day I ate three pieces of cake instead of one and thought, "This is absolutely ridiculous. I'm done." So I cut out sugar completely for two weeks before I started MFP. 45 days here and about 20 pounds less than I did 45 days ago shows me that it's working. But the cake was the trigger.
  • Hi! I'm 22 and I'm new around here as well! I've been here for about a month and a half. I'll add you. :)
  • Welcome back!
  • Congrats on your four pounds! I am sad that your friends and family aren't celebrating the loss with you, but you deserve a pat on the back. Congrats!
  • I'm still tracking my calories and managing my portions, but I won't be limiting myself to 1,500 calories if I want to eat more. I just want to be responsible about it. I try to eat low carb, so I'll probably eat mostly turkey and salad with a sampling of more processed foods on the side. I don't eat dessert, but I decided…
  • I don't buy those foods-- so as long as I can stay on track when I go to the grocery store, I'm typically good to go. I have also found that drinking a lot of water and making sure I am never ravenously hungry, I don't get too many of them. Typically I get cravings for sugar and salt. I haven't had sugar in 5 weeks because…
  • I walk five miles a day! My MFP exercise level is set to sedentary and I don't record my walking to MFP because I think it grossly overexaggerates how many calories I burned, but it works for me! I eat 1,500 calories a day...low carb/high protein, walk a lot, and in the past 3 weeks I've lost 12 pounds. Working thus far. :)
  • Me! I just turned 22 and I'm looking for friends my own age as well. I'll add you. :)
  • jennie_larson I follow back! I also am interested in following people who take pictures of fitness related things. I haven't shared my weight loss journey with my Instagram friends yet (waiting for the 50 pound mark...so 41 pounds from now), but I'm considering creating a new Instagram with only fitness/weight loss related…
  • I sold my car six months ago and started walking to work. I walk about five miles a day and I really like it. It's peaceful and some excellent me time-- it's a good way to get moving without feeling physically uncomfortable. I'm planning on starting the C25K program soon, but for me just regular walking (I average 19…
  • I can only weigh myself once a week-- I get certain amounts of anxiety from stepping on the scale and normal weight fluctuations really depress me so I do it every Sunday.
  • Physically measuring my food helps me a lot. I've guesstimated and eyeballed a cup of rice or a tablespoon of peanut butter. Now I actually measure it before I put it on my plate. It clears my conscience because I know I'm eating the exact amount of calories I say I am eating and helps me understand portion sizes a little…
  • I try to eat at least a little bit of protein during every meal. Breakfast is a shake with protein powder and plain, non-fat Greek yogurt. For lunch I have one or two string cheeses and 15 raw almonds, and dinner I have grilled chicken in my salad. I eat pretty much the same foods every day, so pretty boring, but I hit my…
  • I'm the same way. I'm really tall, so when I tell people I need to lose about 100 pounds...they gasp in horror. Au contraire, my friends, I do. I have an hourglass figure and a prominent bone structure, so I carry my weight fairly well. I've always wondered if I too were delusional, until my high school basketball coach…
  • Hi! I'm two weeks in and have been pretty successful thus far, but I'm expecting a slump to come soon, because it always does. I've got a looong way to go, but I'm pretty pleased with my progress thus far! I'll add you. :)
  • Ha, I am joining the brigade! I am a former WW as well-- didn't work for me. Only having twenty-something points a day was limiting and I tended to still eat poorly, but eat diet food that had a lower calorie limit. Tracking everything I eat was difficult on WW and paying a bajillion dollars a month was too expensive for…
  • I'm 22 as well! I don't have a Blackberry, but I'll add you on MFP.
  • I'm new too! Added you.
  • Hi! I'm new too and in a similar boat. I'm just starting out and I'm taking it one step at a time. Two weeks ago I cut out sugars and lost five pounds a week in...it's just now starting to get a little easier, and so this week I am committing to writing down every single thing I eat. When that gets a little easier and I…
