Once again, I need to set some good goals for April and DO IT. DH will be back 14th. Trying to talk him into going to gym in the mornings after school drop-off so we can go together and maybe he can help get me back into it. He usually goes to the office and just hangs out, since it's so early. I have a feeling he will…

Well, last weigh-in, I was down 0.4, which is amazing since my calories-in has been kinda high (wholesome and healthy...but high). I had actually thought i'd be up by more than that. I need to find one of those tools that checks my Garmin or MFP data and shows what my predicted weight change should be, to see how it tracks.

Hi all! I'm still around. Sorry I'm such a deadbeat, I don't enjoy it either. It's just that life has put me through the spin cycle lately and I'm totally exhausted. I've got sore throat/cold 3.0 and am wore out by unexpected stuff hitting me left and right. Got about 24,000 steps today just doing all the stuff that needed…

Anyone should be able to see this noticeable difference! Well done. Keep it up!

Hi all. Sorry I dropped off radar. We had been getting costume etc ready for son's school program, then the long weekend (Independence Day) began right after his holiday program Thursday morning. I feel like I've been cooking the whole time (in addition to Ind day, is also Greek lent season, which is a good time to cook…

Hey all! Am I on the right day? Not retired, just tired, lol. Val, oh my! That sounds awful. I hope little one is better and you found a solution to the zoo date. Marla, that's fascinating tactic! I'd never heard of it. Sounds like a great motivator. I wouldn't be able to choose a charity. I'd probably have to go with one…

Love the threadstarter! Don't you know I've gone back for a second weigh-in sans socks, undies, watch, hairband! lol! I was totally beat today. The coughing and the trying-to-hold-in-a-cough (in public, on crowded bus) has been exhausting and it was rainy today on top of it. My lil girl took a turn for the worse, by the…

Hi all! St pattys day got right past me. Marla, I hope u celebrated enough for both of us. ;). I love to hear what's up with you Marla. You are in a really nice stage of life right now (I'm not jealous, but I do appreciate it for you and look forward to my turn), and I think y'all must be settling into your new area really…

Just keep swimming is one of the best movie lines ever! Marla, I didn't know there was a new movie...wonder what he says about Greece, mprobably nothing that hasn't already been said a million times after all the press in the past few years lol. Well today I'm still feeling sick, with a very runny chapped nose and a cough…

Hi! I didn't think you did DST there. Funny how NOT messing with the time can be more confusing than actually messing with it, because everyone around changes. The holiday is clean Monday, when you stop eating meat (vs. burnt Thursday for eating meat, we had a couple weeks ago). Normally, it's a day to fly kites, but the…

Hi! For those who sprang forward, welcome to DST! I'll join you in a week or two. I'm still totally sick and miserable, but luckily FIL took kids for the afternoon, and tomorrow is a holiday, so no school! Unfortunately I haven't felt like doing proper shopping so I'll be scraping by on meal prep til the stores reopen…

I read back and it's like you're all reading my mind!!! First, welcome back April! val and Laura, I hope you get on the mends. The sickness we got here was of the "razors in your throat, while drowning in your own mucus" variety. It hit hard and fast. I'm still struggling. Embarrassed myself so bad today when I took my son…

Well, I wasn't able to embed, but anyway...really liked what this guy had to say in the video. I need to reAd the last few days. Sorry I went missing, but lil girl and I caught a particularly nasty cold. Sh s back to school finally today, but I'm just now in the middle of the worst of it. Son woke with sore throat, so I…

Amen to that! Lucky for me my motherinlaw loves to put costumes together for the kids and I only got s few accessories for my son bc the ones she sent weren't quite right. Usually we send the costumes back to her. The store ones I think get used at the school where she teaches and the ones she made custom I think (and…

I need this^ today. Part of why I "started" was thinking of my future grandchildren and how I want to be there, and fun and active for them. I'm much healthier than I was before, but I'm still missing the mark. Today was the school carnival party and I helped the kids get ready. Well, mostly my son who had a rather…

Laura, those points of wisdom are absolutely perfect!! Happy anniversary! Funny you say that about fruit, because it took me a second to think what you meant because I hardly even think of lemon as fruit, lol! I think of it like vinegar, like some weird condiment outside of any food group. Lol! But really, like we have a…
-
Well, of course you have to like it. I'm sure you'll find exactly what's best for you. In Greece we put lemon on all vegetables, potatoes in the oven for example, and boiled zucchini, etc. But they also make egg-lemon sauce for meatballs and for dolmades (rice in grape leaves), so a lot of very very strange and different…

Lol threadstarter is perfect! Laura, sounds like carb cycling. Maybe visit some bodybuilding websites for inspiration...bodybuilders are good at maximizing nutrition. They would eat stuff like fish, chicken breast, very lean meat, with broccoli, cauliflower, etc on those protein days and then add sweet potatoes, oatmeal,…

Keeping it very simple, because frankly if I can do these simple things, I'll be doing great. 1) weigh less by the end of the month 2) gym 4x/week 3) strengthen and improve my legs

@Reinventing_Me ... WOW!! :)

Oh Laura, sorry you're struggling. I tried to leave you a note on your profile, but the app dumped me. Anyway, hope you're finding your center. I feel like I need to really double down on commitment, maybe we can work on it in March together.

I understand that overwhelmed feeling. I'm in the same category. I find I get overwhelmed by normal things that other people just handle like its normal, BUT fwiw, I can handle things that other people would not know where to begin. Different wiring I guess. For me, I find its best to take all the time I need for the stars…

It would seem as though I did lose about two pounds, but I haven't really gotten a real, fully fasted, relaxed weigh-in. Anyway, I want to do better than this. Need to put my March goals and plan together.

Wow! Congrats on winning! Orlando, niiiiiice! Today, I got my hair done! Eeeeee! She did great and I'm so happy. Mostly happy to have found someone good here to do my hair, maybe I won't wait five years next time! Lol! On the way out, the fruit stands were already decked out with strawberries (I wish you all could see! I…

Ugh! Is crying allowed? 1) Quite disappointed in my recent inability to achieve a really nice deficit. Can't even weigh myself, because last weigh-ins were all fully depleted and that's sometimes a 4 pound difference. It'd be apples to oranges and only psyche me out. 2) I've done well with this and this is so important! I…

Perfect threadstarter! Sorry to hear about the hot water. Our first apt (very old, central hot water) would run out of hot water so often during morning wake-up "rush hour", that I'd never start my morning shower without putting on a pot of water to boil. Hopefully you'll at least have water, even if it's cold...and has to…

Marla, lol, that's why I don't bake...what if I get good at it?! I'd never be able to resist! Today just lots of laundry. Took it easy. Legs are........feeling great! I'm thrilled and will definitely continue with the right shoes all the time and might start to run for ten minutes per day ish starting in March. Mon and Tue…

Kids and I hung out with "Papou" (father in law) today and kids went to activities. We watched movies. I need to go get my gym I.d. And get started next week, but of course already have appts Mon and Tue. Typical. Got my first hair appt in five years. Excited for a big change. Then my friend who is always working texted me…

val, way to keep moving while traveling...and mix it up some, with a trail run. Marla, hope you find a great book group. Past couple days were whirlwind here. Yesterday, I had errands in different corners of the city, and afternoon had to help my son with history project. Sons school is starting to crank it up a notch to…
