I can't seem to get into a good routine and its driving me nuts! This thread starter is for me to remind myself to not give up. I tend to feel overwhelmed and then go hide somewhere playing candy crush and surfing Facebook for hours. Which leaves me feeling more stressed out. Anyway...Going to take a quick run this morning, just a couple of miles. Going for an hour bike ride tonight when the kids are in bed. People are coming over for bible study tonight and I plan to make some lemony desserts as our tree is dumping all its lemons and we need to use them up!
Plan to take a break this afternoon since I've been running around the past few days. Maybe fold the laundry while watching a movie.
Marla - I'm glad you got your hot water heater fixed!
Sherry - hopefully the rest will help! Often times with healing it's a couple steps forward and one step back.
Laura - I know the feeling. You can do it!
Hope you all have a great day!0 -
Val when you are super busy like you are its easy to get overwhelmed. My older daughter is going through that to. Not giving herself enough play time or down time so eventually she gets sick as her body forces her to slow down.
I think its great all the work all of you guys do with work outs, running, raising kids, jobs, etc but if you forget rest time your body will come after it.
I have no idea what the perfect balance is to get things done while having time outs too, only so many hours in the day. Easy for me now retired but when i worked full time and raising kids very hard.
I signed up for free 10 days pass at local gym and went to a class that does some aerobics but more strength and lifting, muscles are feeling it today.
I have dentist appt today, no insurance so hoping they don't find anything.0 -
I understand that overwhelmed feeling. I'm in the same category. I find I get overwhelmed by normal things that other people just handle like its normal, BUT fwiw, I can handle things that other people would not know where to begin. Different wiring I guess. For me, I find its best to take all the time I need for the stars to align so that when I do get going, I stick wth it and not back up and go cocoon again. That's why I was so slow to start running in the beginning (it took me years! to work up he nerve) and slow to join the gym in the beginning (took months) etc. Because I've learned that if I don't give myself time, I'll just do something once and then back to my cocoon.
Busy day with errands. I'm about 15,000 steps. Oops, meant to rest my legs more, but none of that was exercise, just normal daily stuff. I did pick up my gym card and didn't like what I saw at the gym around 11:30...maybe a lunch crowd? I'm going to normally shoot for a.m. right after school drop off. Thinking of 4x/week. Gotta put my March goals and plan together. Have decided to work on my legs at the gym before starting running. I think quad and hammie and glute strength are what's going to get me straightened out for running without calf trouble.
Tomorrow s a carnival day where everyone eats grilled meat. Taking the kids for souvlaki etc after tutor. Kinder having costume day too. Part is this weekend, most f which are also including some sort of drive for refugees for food or supplies. School is collecting packets of paper, markers, stickers for the kids. Most of the refugees stuck in Greece are families with children, sleeping rough in city squares, ferry terminals, old airport...some have become stranded in villages to the North. The whole country is under grassroots mobilization to house, clothe, and feed them.0 -
Oh Laura, sorry you're struggling. I tried to leave you a note on your profile, but the app dumped me. Anyway, hope you're finding your center. I feel like I need to really double down on commitment, maybe we can work on it in March together.0
