I have not got an inflated burn. I use a HRM while exercising and I usually log lower calories than those I've actually burned off on the HRM anyway. Secondly, you are all forgetting the fact that on fast days I'm eating 550-600 calories maximum, that plus the calorie burn from exercise on those days is creating a deficit…

Sorry but I've tried many calculators and my sedentary TDEE is what I said, 1460, maximum on one calculator 1500. I don't 'eat my exercise calories back', I manually set my base calories to 1150 and then try and stick to eating around 1400 if I can, so it looks like I am eating the exercise calories but that's not the…

Sorry I meant I weigh thinga on a scale, not measure. I also eat a lot of foods with the calorie count listed on the packet so I know it's accurate and if I use a portion size like berries I have the smallest berries you can imagine. I've been counting for so long now I know how grams and portions compare and always aim…

Thanks Kimney I would be happy losing even at that rate at the moment! I was 121 lbs at my lightest but still had a lot of body fat even then (27%) so I'd like to get down lower with less body fat and see how I feel. We can do it!

Thanks but I do generally weigh and measure almost everything as I work from home so know the weight/size of the things I eat regularly and put things in my scales if not. I do have small bananas for instance and I just weighed one with the skin off and it was 50 grams, I eat frozen banana portions and cut off extra banana…

My main issue is my fat ratio. In clothes I generally look ok and can wear a fairly small size now but I have tons of fat on my thighs, upper arms and tummy area (29% body fat currently). As I carry it mostly in those areas it looks much worse rather than if it was spread out all over. I already do IF and I also do a…

Thanks, I know that rapid weight gain is not all fat gain and most likely water weight, but if/when it happens I find it takes me weeks to get back to where I was, hence why my weight loss has been so slow ie. only 14lbs in 6 months. Regarding my current weight, I know I am within a healthy BMI but it's deceptive because…

I do walks of 30-60 minutes, 3-4 times a week at moderate speed plus around 1-2 cardio sessions of about 40 minutes. I also do 4 workouts of 35 minutes each per week using reasonably heavy weights and body weight exercises (Jillian Michaels body revolution). I never count/eat back exercise calories. My TDEE is my sedentary…

I'd go with the headphones option. I always wear headphones when I go anywhere alone as I don't have to communicate with anyone if I don't want to. I find when I go out for a walk with my dog people generally don't speak to me as they think I'm listening to music whether I actually am or not. They'd look like idiots if…

I'm thinking of starting another round on Monday. First time round stopped after 8 weeks as I didn't see a lot of results and second time around I completed the program but again didn't notice major results. Since I finished at the end of March I have been doing a T25 and P90X3 hybrid (2 workouts a day) and mixing that…

Thanks everyone. I'm very happy with my diet and can definitely see myself eating this way forever as my blood pressure has come down, I've got my appetite under control and I enjoy fast days as they allow me to eat more on the other days. I might switch to lifting heavier weights when I'm over my injuries but I am doing…

Doktorglass I do the 5:2 diet and due to this I eat 550 calories 2 days a week. On my fasting days I don't track macros because it's impossible as I'm eating so few calories. On the other days I try and reach my protein goals and stick to around 100g carbs. Last week my mum was here for 5 days so I had a few days where I…

Doktorglass I already do those things, which is why I am frustrated. I do strength train using both body weight exercises and dumbbells and always try and push myself, but at the moment I have a slight shoulder injury and problems with my tendons in one arm so I can't go too heavy otherwise I make it worse. I also watch my…

gia07 I am definitely eatingat a deficit as I count calories meticulously. I average 1150 calories per day (1400 on my non-fast days and 550 on fast days) and I rarely go over those numbers. I don't eat back exercise calories, I just log calorie burns from workouts so I stay motivated and work harder etc. I am losing…

I agree with that. My weight has always gone up and down and I've always lost weight in the past by eating very low calorie and I was always able to lose 2-3lbs a week by doing this but the weight went right back on as soon as I ate normally again. Now I'm losing much more slowly than I'd like but for the first time in my…

Aimerace being a healthy weight for your height is not the be all and end all. When I started on here in January I was at the highest healthy weight for my height at 10 stone 8, but I had 33.5% body fat which was really really high for my size. I'm a very small build with tiny wrists and ankles and a small waist so at that…

Have you calculated your BMR and TDEE? I'm the same height as you and currently weigh 9 stone 7.8. My goal is also similar to yours at 8 stone 5. When I first joined MFP in January I lost a few lbs but mostly water weight and then after that I hardly lost anything at all, in fact for 2 months I only lost a total of 2lbs…

Thanks, I had no idea about all of that! I'll read up on it a bit but I don't think I'm ready to go lower than 100g carbs on my non-fast days. I generally find that on fast days carbs are 50-60g maximum anyway. As for FA I don't know if I normally reach this point, but I have to say that since doing 16:8 or anything up to…

Unfortunately easier said than done. I live in a country where I don't speak the language well so a docs visit requires a translator and also I'm in a small village where the doctors is only open for 3 days a week for an hour and a half each of those days, usually when I'm working so I try not to go unless I'm really sick…

I don't really like fish and usually only eat smoked salmon and tuna once or twice a month each so I think I probably need omega 3s. Other than that I get knee problems and other joint problems from time to time so that's why I started taking glucosomine. I think I'll proba my stick with those and think about the…

When I had my blood test nothing flagged up as being over or under what it should be and that was with taking the supplements stated above.

Hi Katee still doing 5:2 and 16:8 and I seem to be losing a little more (closer to 1lb a week now) but the temperatures here have shot up and I tried on all my summer stuff yesterday and a lot of it is still a little tight so I really have to step things up. Last week I had a week off proper training as I got an couple of…

I have been doing 16:8 and some days I've even managed 18:6 every day, with possibly 1 day out of 7 where I've had something to eat a bit earlier. Other than that I wasn't losing when eating 1550-1600 so have now reduced that to 1350-1450 on non fast days. The weight is slowly coming off, and I'm not finding it hard to…

Thanks, will have a look at the link.

Mama peach I think you may be on another planet or obviously not listening. Nothing is medically wrong with me as I've had tests for this. I know the figures are not correct due to experimenting with numbers over the course of weeks and months. It's hardly worrying to try and find a way to lose weight if weight loss has…

Lynn thanks for the advice, my normal weekly deficit is about 4000, maybe a bit more and I haven't been losing at all for weeks. Last week I gained 1.5lbs and my deficit was less just for that week as I was away for a couple of days and was out for a friends birthday but it was around 2500 calories still as I burned off…

Thanks Angela, nice to know I'm not alone. I have been counting calories on non-fast days since I started 5:2 but it's obviously not been good enough because I am not losing so I need to eat less than I have been. I am going to start with 1400 and go down from there is I still don't lose. I am definitely going to try and…

I understand how it works Elizabeth, but in my case I think the problem I'm having is the numbers for me personally ie. what the online calculators tell me to eat in order to lose weight are way out ie. far too high. This has resulted in me eating a little too much or on some days a few hundred calories too much so I am…

Ok, thanks for the input so far. In my case Kikichewie it's not a case of more being better but something would be nice! I've been using MFP daily since 5th January and in month 1 I lost around 5lbs which was the initial water weight I lost plus a couple of extra pounds from counting calories and eating at a deficit. The…

I'm not so young either! It's been ok so far and I'm now on week 3 but last week didn't exactly go to plan as I was away for a couple of days and substituted one of the T25 workouts for a 2 hour walk as I thought it would be overdoing it if I did my doubles workouts on top of the walk.
