  • And you should be! Awesome! Great accomplishment! Keep it up in 2013!
  • I log everything. What I do for fruit and veggies is to log everything beyond the daily requirement. So, anything over 8 servings goes in as extra (now that I look back I was adding anything over 5). But down 60lb since Feb so must be working, right?
  • No, we aren't in Texas
  • In 'unincorporated St Louis County'. Actually between Valley Park/Manchester/Ballwin. Any bike riders? I am always looking for someone to hit the trails with. Once this snow stops it will be easier to get out...
  • I do both but love the meetings. Our leader is a hoot and I have developed some good friendships. I think this on-line world is good for support but when you meet someone face-to-face every week THEN I feel you are more accountable.
  • Awesome! Round of applause! Thanks!
  • Looks like the workout I get at boot camp. Works well!
  • Burning 400 cal is burning 400 cal. What I think you are asking is the most efficient way to do it. I mean even by not eating and sitting on the couch for a few days one can lose 400 cal. I would recommend doing a bit of research on bike riding and weight loss. What has worked for me is sprints. I ride for 20-30 min/day. I…
  • ANYTHING off brand. I used to have the cheap tools around the house, cheap lighting fixtures, etc. Once I got over the initial price of getting the better, if not BEST, I never looked back. Have the right, best tool for the job, any job, make it easier!
  • 1. Went from 265Lb to 210.... thanks to the things before 2. Bought a new bike and started cranking out the miles. Am enjoying all the trails in and around St Louis. 3. Started hiking and walking the dogs more. They were putting on a few lbs and since I was their owner I had to take responsibility. I mean, we all take our…
  • I don't know about fitbit and how it tracks these things but one day does not make a trend. You need more data, say a month or more of these bizarro swings before I would be concerned.
  • Got rid of all of my BIG clothes and don't plan on going back. About the ONLY thing I have is a belt as a reminder.
  • Awesome!
  • Find something to occupy your hands. I used to binge when bored. I got into electronics and slotcars (ok, addicted) but now I have somewhere to go when I have 'nothing' to do. When I was in college I used to hike when bored. I forced myself to more or less walk the entire city/area while I was there. I got as motorcycle…
  • I didn't stress about it too much when I first started. I wanted to ride my bicycle but could not last very long. Slowly I would increase distance and speed. Before my recent (non-riding) injury I would go for 60+ mile rides and not think twice about it! It took many, many months to be able to do that... baby steps. You…
  • Don't be afraid to ask/bug co-workers/friends who are in better shape for help. You will NOT get help hoping people can read your mind. I was talking to a consultant at work about my new found joy in riding only to find out he is a competitive rider! I have yet to absorb all the advice on equipment and routines he has…
  • I used it for nearly 4 months then dropped it. Then I moved to EndoMondo but dropped it cause it didn't work well with Pandora in the background. Now I use Sports Tracker. I would like to say I have a lot of experience with it but due to a recent injury my exercise has come to halt. I guess as weather AND I improve I will…
  • I feel your pain - almost literally! I recently blew my knee out and have been doing ZERO exercise for nearly 2 months. I am SO ready to get back on my bike! I asked for (and got) winter riding clothing so there is NO excuse! So, find a passion and go for it and SHARE it here!
  • Awesome. Find some exercise that you like. I bought myself a new bike this past summer and got so hooked that I asked for (and got) winter riding gear. Our vet also suggested taking our two pups (a lab and a German Shepard/Husky) out for more walks for their health. Since I am their owner/master I have no choice. I took…
