One of the main ways sumo wrestlers pack on pounds is by not eating breakfast and eating a big lunch and dinner because it slows their metabolism.

I eat breakfast before I leave for work and pack a lunch box filled with individually wrapped items. Throughout the day at work, maybe every 2 hours or so, I'll eat something. Dinner at 6 PM and the occasional beer/wine/dessert later. :-)

Panthers89, great idea. I'll give that a shot when I ease back into drinking!

1ZenGirl, I'm the same way. Except usually those 2 beers lead to thinking I can have 2 more beers and THEN eat whatever I want! Then inevitably the next day I get mad at myself for getting off track, and it takes a couple days to claw back the weight loss.

I definitely miss it. I love craft beers, particularly IPAs, so this has been tough. But like SailerSiren13 I'm just trying to jump start my weight loss. June will be here before I know it, and I need to get off to a good start!

Usually once during the week I would have a couple beers or a couple glasses of wine, but the worst was Friday and Saturday when I would have 6-8 drinks each day, with the occasional greasy hangover food. I'm planning to lower that number substantially since that's where I'd blow my calorie goal each week.

Also on day 3 and looking forward to only 30 minutes of yoga today! I also loved yesterday's Agility X. The tape targets and exercises made it a lot of fun.

I normally work first shift but occasionally work nights. On the days I work nights I will workout while I'm at home before I go into work, while on normal days I workout after work.

OP, I am almost identical to what you are describing. After putting on 50 pounds I have anxiety and depression and my primary motivation is really not looking better but feeling better. Looking better will be a consolation prize.

Thanks for all the great posts! I think the two best takeaways so far for me are: 1) Plan a binge day once a week where I am allowed to eat over my daily average but not put me over for the week. 2) Have a strategy when I feel like I want to eat the entire pantry... the best two things I've found (and a couple people…

Anybody else had a problem with occasional binge eating and have a good fix??

I am in the same boat. I recently got back from my honeymoon where I was probably eating 5000 calories a day and the only exercise I did was raising my hand asking for another drink. Now that I'm back in the swing of things (and 10 pounds heavier), I'm constantly hungry trying to go back down to the 1,650 calories MFP…
