I too, am having problems with my belly fat. I am hearing more and more about heavy lifting for women. There was just a great article in Women's Health about this. After 1 month of cardio consistently I have lost not anything around my waist....

Sorry all- totally screwed up my response.... so if I am 1306 BMR and my TDEE is 1560 less 20% my daily calorie intake should be 1433? Regardless of workout days?

My calories are at 1310 now based on losing 1/2 lb. per week. Still seems low to me but on workout days I can have 1640. I thinking I am building more muscle than I thought therefore not losing the weight quickly.... is this a realistic calorie goal for a day? It still seems low to me - BMR is 1306.

I hear you on this one! I posted yesterday about almost this very thing. From what I have read both on this site and other internet searches is that 1200 is not a good daily calorie intake as your body may think it is starving and start storing fat. I put in to lose 7 lbs at 1 lb per week and MFP also gave me 1200…

Thanks all for the replies! I put in to lose 1 lb. per week, (I never put in 2). So if what I am getting from you all is that I probably should change it to 1/2 lb? I know it may seem silly to some that I am making a big deal out of a measily 7 lbs. but I really want to get back to where I was under a year ago. Also when I…
