I'm also starting soon, just waiting for my stuff to arrive!

Canadian vet student here, taking my licensing exam in December while being full time (and then some) at school. Good luck!

So, I'm gonna show how much of a geek I am.... "Guren no Yumiya" by Linked Horizon. AKA - The Attack on Titan theme song.

Thanks cleo, I'll look into the Texas method. I looked at 5/3/1 and Mad Cow and both looked more complicated then I wanted, but if there's a spreadsheet for Texas that might be okay. I know someone on here is doing Beautiful Badass (or at least one of the BB programs) too. (PS: Cleo, the first time I saw your name, I read…

Workout B last night, went pretty well, except for the bloody OHPs. At some point, I will hit 60 on those! Squat - 110lbs x 44444 - New record! OHP - 55lbs x 66634 - I was going pretty well and then my arms just checked out on me, hence the last two sets. Deadlift - 125lbs x 5 - Finally managed that last rep! I have one…

5'0", 26 years old, 125.3lbs. TDEE is around 1950, I eat around 1650 (averages). I'm not losing much weight but I am losing inches and that's all that matters to me.

Stellar numbers chubby! 170! Workout A for me tonight. Heading into week 11! Squat - 105lbs x 55555 - For some reason, this felt easy tonight. Bench - 70lbs x 55554 Row - 70lbs x 5 and 75lbs x 4444 Little worried about staying on track this week. Planning on working out Monday and Wednesday morning, but then…

I'm in vet school. This means a lot of sitting in lecture halls and a lot of studying after class (more sitting). So I don't get to move much during the day, and then I have to do more sitting to study at night. Sometimes, I study on an exercise bike. I can't run while reading, I get dizzy, but if I'm cycling, my head is…

Welcome! You might get away with doing the 5x5 after your class for a little while, but once the weights start getting more challenging, something will have to give. I think the usual rule is to do cardio (HIIT, circuits, etc) after weights, if you do them on the same day. I don't do any other exercise on the days I lift,…

Thank you. I needed to hear (read?) this. I try not to get hung up on the scale, because I am getting smaller, but I still have this annoying little whiny voice in the back of my head yelling, "Shouldn't I be losing something?!" Seeing other people stay the same weight and get smaller is what I needed to shut that voice up.

I know the feeling. I just keep reminding myself that I've got no one to compare myself to but me. :flowerforyou: Squat - 105lbs x 5 x 5 - New record for me! Bench - 70lbs x 5 x 4 Row - 70lbs x 5 x 5 - Felt easy, up to 75lbs next time.

Love this quote.

Thanks! Next goal: Put on the big girl 45lbs plates for 135lbs.

Hope you can get a handle on the B12 thing, grandmoo. Having to go for shots all the time can't be fun. :frown: Workout A tonight, with a head-cold. Stupid sinuses. Squat - 100lbs x 5 x 5 OHP - 55 x 5 x 5 - Tried 60 and arms went "NOPE!" Deadlift - 125lbs x 4 - Only 4, but WOO! Body weight! I lifted ME!

I'm pretty good with will power these days but there's still a few things I won't buy because I will eat them all immediately. 1) Chocolate covered pretzels. 2) Homemade/local bakery bread - especially cheese bread, raisin bread or brown bread. 3) Dates. 4) Diet soda - I have no issue with artificial sweeteners, but I just…

Not the OP, but I hate Gatorade; all flavours of it. I can drink the G2 though, which is the low calorie version of Gatorade. Preferably the grape or fruit punch flavours. It's a bit like watered down Kool-Aid (is there a UK equivalent to Kool-Aid?). If you've ever had fake grape juice or fake fruit punch, it's like that.…

Workout A this morning. I've been experimenting with training fasted. I can't eat a full breakfast before exercise, but I used to have a banana or a cup of yogurt or something. Nothing this morning and nothing before my last run and so far so good! No ill effects during either of my work-outs. Squat - 100lbs x 5 x 5 Bench…

I have chronically low blood pressure and I've had two different doctors tell me to eat more salt. I'm usually at 2000-3000mg a day. I find it does help keep the dizziness away.

I thought I had broken 60lbs on my OHP. I had (what I thought was) 55lbs, and was flying through 5 reps, and even 6 felt easy for the first two sets. So I bumped it up to what I thought was 60lbs. Turns out I just can't do math at 6 in the morning. My easy 55 was 50, and my 60 was 55, which was just as hard as ever. Damn…

Your daughter is so lucky to have you. This is how we get girls more confident in themselves and more comfortable in their own skin. BRAVO!

I'm doing Stronglifts 5x5 and I could also eat a horse most days. I'd say about 3 weeks into it as the weights really started going up, I noticed that I was starving on the 1550 I had set for myself. I average around 1700 these days, and some days I definitely could easily eat more, but I'm just trying to keep a slight…

I was pulling plates off the deadlift barbell and had a moment where my brain checked out and I forgot that once the plate came off, the bar would be subject to gravity if I wasn't holding. Luckily it just kind of slid down my foot, but had an ugly bruise for a few days.

Six weeks between photos. Little differences, but they add up! Lost 0.5" off each thigh, gained 0.5" on each calf, lost 0.5" off my lower stomach and 0.5" off my hips.

Workout A Squat - 1x95lbs and that felt pretty good, so decided to go to 100lbs for the next four sets. Woo new PR! Bench - 5x70lbs - Another woo, another PR. Row - 5x70lbs.

I had a very hectic two days on Monday and Tuesday, resulting in not much sleep and a totally screwed up schedule. I took Wednesday off, no exercise except for daily life running around. Back into the weight room this morning and still don't feel quite 100%. Squat - 95lbs - Three sets of 6 and two sets of five. OHP - 55lbs…

Gwyn - 280!? 2x body weight?! Holy crap! Awesome! I'm definitely seeing some results these days - both in the mirror and on the scale. I was down to 125.3lbs this weekend, a weight I haven't seen since I did Weight Watchers a year or so ago. And I'm starting to like my thighs for the first time, erm, ever. Workout…

I'm just quoting this, because this is essentially me. I'm concentrating solely on fat loss and maintaining lean body mass. If I get down to the body fat percentage I want (20%-22%) I'll be about 115lbs.

I'm about the same stats as you, 5'0'", 26 years old, though I'm about 10lbs heavier. My HR stats are about the same as you. Resting is anywhere from 50-65, right before exercise about 100, and depending what I'm doing during exercise, it can get up around 165-170. I'd say you're fine, especially if your heart rate drops…

I don't mention dieting with my friends, because I usually get, "Oh one cookie won't hurt!" or "You're so tiny already!" If it's a matter of eating what you packed or buying something, budget can be a good excuse. "I packed my lunch, trying to cut down on money spent eating out." That should be a pretty acceptable reason…
