Mmmm I'm full. I just ate 1.5 cups of chopped raw kale all smashed up with an avocado, with dulse flakes, fried tofu and a dash of soy sauce. 2 huge plates of food for 400 cals :smooched: Eat lots of veggies! You'll fill up for less.

ANOVA stands for analysis of variance and it is a statistical model I used while working as an estimator- I thought it was appropriate for a weight-loss site! JO is my name. Anova's Jo.

Can I just take a sec to applaud this effort? People can be in charge of their own lives and this is how it's done, ladies & gents.

I love making homemade soups. I made a really delicious one last night- Kale, tomato, lentil and sweet potato. Lots of meal ideas at www.tastespotting.com you can use the search bar at the top right to look for meals that include what you have in the fridge. I like to make a big vegetarian lasagna with different layers of…

I take two B-vitamin supplements (I can't get B12 naturally, being a vegan). Bloodwork shows everything else is in line or better than average. I also throw back a couple of vitamin C tablets if I start to feel a cold coming on.

Or if you've been good all day, you could have a beer :drinker:

rice cakes topped with sliced avocado and black pepper! if you put 1/4 a small avocado on each rice cake and you have 2 cakes, it's about 150 calories and it's nice and filling, plus good for you. apple slices dipped in natural peanut butter is always delicious: about 250 cals for 1 granny smith apple with 2 tbsp of…

Oh no, the pasta will gain lots of weight when cooked- from the water. Weigh dry pasta.

My boyfriend suffers from very similar allergies to yours, and he's a vegetarian! Talk about a particular diet! Legumes are critical if you can't have nuts: lentils, beans, peas. If you're an omnivore, then consider lean animal proteins. The nutrition you would otherwise be getting from fruits should be made up in…

Exactly what he said. :glasses:

1 cup of cooked lentils hits 37% of your daily iron intake. :flowerforyou:

I find that squeezing a lemon wedge over my food gives it a yummy kick without all the sodium.

I agree, Eating Animals is a really exceptional book. Safran Foer is about to become a father and realizes he will soon be responsible for his child's view of the world. He decides to research what it means to eat animals- not only recounting the journey from farm to plate for different types of animals, but interviewing…
