Hi, I have fibromyalgia too. Don't have any special advice. I just try to move as much as possible and rest when I can't. I've been using 5 pound dumb bells for 10 -15 min a day 3-4 days a week. I did read that even if we have to split up exercise into 10 min bites, a couple times a day, it will help. From looking at your…

I don't use a yogurt maker. In fact I have a half gallon of yogurt doing it's thing while sitting on the hot water heater. I used a store bought yogurt as my starter for the first batch and some yogurt from the last batch to make the first batch. I heat my milk to 150 degrees and let it cool to around 110 degrees. Then I…

I would say nothing to your friend, but since it is facebook, I would post a link to MFP and maybe comment on how sensible it seems. Personally, I did this, however I haven't directly told any extended friends or family of my latest weight loss attempts( and success) since it never worked in the past. Now I simply want to…

Maybe home made ones. I found this recipe : 1/2 cup cornmeal 1/2 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup boiling water 1 teaspoon oil Combine all ingredients. Mix well. If dough is not stiff slowly add more cornmeal until the dough is stiff. Roll out dough to 1/8" thick. Cut into strips with a sharp knife or a pizza cutter. Place strips on…

I compost most things, but the apple peels and cores I turn into vinegar, or dehydrate the peels to grind up and add to either teas or for baking. I also use the veggie scraps for stock. No matter what it all gets used.

I think you are probably right, the fast food has a lot of calories, and not very filling. I think this is the first time in 20 plus years that I have tried to lose weight, and have not felt deprived at all. I wish I had this information when I was younger, but at least I have it now. Good luck on your journey !!

I'm in the same boat. I changed my goal to 1.5 lbs. and increased my activity level to light, since I now have the energy to get off the couch. It seems that I was not eating enough. Who knew??? I haven't updated my weight ,but this morning I was down another 2 lbs. I just don't believe it, so I'm waiting to update.…

For me it's cooking at home. No take out, or pre packaged foods. It takes a bit to enter the recipes, but it helps me to stay in budget.

Thanks for the help. I'm hoping that this works. It's so different from everything I've ever known as far as dieting goes. It's so much easier. Makes me wonder why all those Dr's. that told me to lose weight , never explained it . Almost seems to easy, but I'm already starting to feel better, so the journey begins. :)

Hi, how many kids in day care . Could you all go outside for a walk, or trip to park(weather permitting). Just trying to wrangle small kids can be a work out in itself. Keep a note pad in the kitchen if you are having trouble logging in as you go, and do it all before bed time.

Starting on a new me ,again. I've been fighting this battle all my adult life. Now, my kids are grown and I think it's high time I took care of myself, so here I go again. Hoping that with MFP I will have a better chance of success.
