arigatou! Love the Japanese xx

Aw thankyou. I try for this one - because I teach an option class I think it should be a bit different

This comment always irritates me. People decide to lose weight so restrict their eating. For years we've heard that to lose weight, you eat less and move more. So you think that lots of exercise and minimal food works. You slowly find out that that's not the case, and if you're lucky you don't get judged and criticised for…

It's a bad thing, because your body isn't getting the energy it needs. You can easily add calories into this eating plan though. Have some cheese with the apple, some butter on the toast (and maybe some peanut butter!), add mayo/sauce/cheese/avocado to the roll, have full fat milk in the capp, have some sauce on your fish,…

I don't mind. Funny thing is that a year ago I thought the pics on the left were nice. NOw I'm looking at them thinking 'hey the chick on the right is kinda hot!':p Kidding, but you know what I mean. Had no idea I was such a roly poly at the time!

It's def snapped me out of my 'this is taking FOREVER' funk!! Thanks everyone. Super stoked right now :D

Sticker chart. Have daily goals like 'Played outside' Ate fruit/veggies' 'Didn't eat junk food' 'drank lots of water' and give her a sticker for each one she achieves, with the understanding that if she achieves a set number of stickers a week, then she gets to pick from a prize list. Have THAT filled with feel-good…

This is why I work out my intake on the lower amount of exercise as TDEE - 20% even though some weeks it's higher. On higher weeks, then if I go over one day I don't care :)
-
cool thanks all. Netball season finishes next week so I think I might add in a gym workout on what is currently netball day, as well as another at least one a week. I think also that I might finish out August on TDEE-20% and then flick up to TDEE- 10 or 15% for September. I'll be in Japan for half of October and I always…

anyone able to discuss?

the actual shirataki are yam. not tofu. I know there is a tofu variant but I've not tried it. I've spent quite a bit of time in japan and so I like shirataki. Use them a lot.

thanks. I'm more grumpy than worried! Kinda hoping the extra food results in some faster moving digestion and it all kinda takes care of itself.

I was fat and curvy. Now I'm healthy and curvy. I have a tiny waist and decent T&A. THAT is curvy. Being fat is being fat. Some fat women are curvy. Some curvy women are thin or athletic or whatever. At GW I'll be thin but still curvy. It annoys the crap out of me when fat people call themselves curvy. Curvy is a body…

I describe it as 'my uterus having a fat day' and I always mentally subtract about 2 kg (though I don't count it as a weigh in weight) when I have that situation. I'll literally jump on the scales and go 'haha my uterus is fat today' and then get over it. It always vanishes within a week and usually takes another half kilo…

Oh and I have a coffee in the morning and sometimes a coke zero at lunch, otherwise it's water until the evening when I have a glass of wine :)

For me Red Bull is an emergency measure, because one can will keep me awake for literally hours. But I have no objection to it in principal, especially mixed with vodka and a bit of soda water. :p

coconut oil. cheap, effective, and you can eat it too so it has to be good for you - all natural!

Food you like the taste of, that's lower in calories than food you normally eat, that fits into your calorie guidelines for the day. Then go for a walk. Voila, balance. Balance works :)
-
it can be laborious but I put in the component ingredients of what i'm cooking. I only go for the 'ready made' option if it's restaurant food. Re drinks, as the person above said, it's as per packet directions. If it says to add 100 ml water and you add twice that, then it still has the 100 ml quantity calories. Obviously…

i do this nearly every day. that way I know where i can work in treats :)

Yep I use TDEE because my workouts change a lot and I don't want to eat back exercise cals if it's going to be that inconsistent, esp as I have a crap thyroid. So TDEE enables me to eat steadier
-
I did the sums at goal weight and for me TDEE - 20 will probably never go below BMR :)
-
following that I fit into the -20% :) thanks
-
Thanks. I don't believe in BMI at all and so I won't be going there, but I get my BF% done in the gym.
-
Thanks for that.... I was kinda hoping that would be someones answer :)
-
anyone?

be happy. My thyroid was damaged by glandular fever when I was 14 but I was 26 before they worked it out, and it was hell.

i'm 32 and I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 6 years ago and have successfully lost weight twice. :) it's possible.
