  • I ran the army 10 miler race last year. Definitely a fun race to do!
  • I always weigh more at the end of the day. I always say something "magical" happens in my sleep because there is usually a 4 or 5lb difference in that 8 hour span.
  • I have a Garmin & would highly recommend them. Its nice to just go out the door and turn it on and see exactly how long you have been running and how far you have gone. Also tells you things like your pace and % grade of the ground and stuff.

  • I started running when my husband got deployed. He came home to a wife who was in much better shape & weighed less as well Now I have a running buddy since he got back.
  • I always tell myself that I'll run for at least 10 minutes and then I can stop if I want. Usually by the time you get to 10 minutes, you wanna keep going. Just motivate yourself to get out the door. The ending feeling is so much better than beating yourself up for skipping the work out.
  • I always weigh myself a week after the holiday dinner to give myself a chance to lose some of the holiday weight. I only go crazy on eating the one day so the pounds usually fall off quickly when I return to my normal diet.
  • start with walking then work up to running. you can do five minutes of walking with two minutes of running and go back and forth for about 30 minutes. as you get better you can decrease the amount of time spent walking and increase the amount of time spent running until you are running nonstop. hope this helps.
