  • mmm definatley trying the lasagna cupcakes
  • Yep, but I swapped maccas and hungry jacks to low fat yoghurt and cereals and no more problems :)
  • I think when it comes to weight it's very hard for people to look past their own concerns. Weight is a very sensitive topic and in the long run, it doesn't matter if you have 20 pounds to lose or 200, it will still be a lot of hard work, determination and will power. I dont think your friend is being insensitive, I think…
  • I'm also a french toast fan but not a big fan of it sweet. I simply beat an egg, add about half a cup of reduced fat milk and some parsley, dip the bread and toast it in a sandwich press, no need for butter :) of course these days I leave off the bacon that used to accompany it!
  • Dry cereals Unsalted & unbuttered popcorn Low fat flavoured tuna rice cakes with vegimite or low fat Philadelphia (the flavoured ones are great) cottage cheese (prefer the one with chives or gherkin) A tomato cut in half with a little salt and pepper
  • just had a great laugh while at work! and yep, definate weight gain there :(
  • mmm i didnt think of that I usually make up my own olive oil and balsamic with parsley and basil... or olive oil and lemon... a small amount of Dijon always adds great flavour. I tend to struggle to make my calorie intake, and because I eat so much salad,i like to add good fats such as olive oil, avocado, a little Parmesan…
  • my pasta bake with extra bechamel sauce choc ripple cake home made custard spaghetti and milk thick cut toast with butter the list could go on forever but with easter coming up... choc chip hot cross buns
  • thanks :) I know it's definitely worth it, I just need the constant reminder and this site is a pretty good one! Unfortunately cooking has become a big outlet for me over the last year and being Italian... well we arent known for being healthy, but hopefully I can teach myself to love healthy cooking too!
  • Normally I would weigh myself once a week at roughly the same time. This time I am trying something different and would simply rather keep an eye on how my clothes are fitting at least through the initial weight loss as I find that numbers often discourage me a lot.

  • I've considered lately trying to eat smaller amounts throughout the day so as to accommodate what I am eating at night... however strangely, with a goal calorie intake of 1450 even without restricting normal meals, and eating at night, I can easily do it without exceeding my calorie amount. My biggest problem is teaching…
  • Mine are 1450... I find that even without eating back my exercise calories I do struggle to make my minimum for the day, but it just means that I can indulge myself a little. That being said, whilst calories are extremely important, if you don't try to stick within some sort of fat/sugar/sodium limits whats the point of…

  • the difference is amazing, looking good :)
  • completed a 3.4k walk all uphill, before 6.10am the other morning in order to see the sunrise from the top of a mountain. I really did not think I could do it. What my partner did not tell me was that at the top of the walking track there was about 200 steps carved into rock that I needed to climb up to reach the top, the…
  • Keep in mind that if you eat too few calories a dayour body will go into starvation mode making it much harder to lose weight. Try snacking on a small handfuls of nuts, adding 1/8 an advocado to sandwiches or salads, low fat milk etc... things that are to to be considered 'good fat' that will help you meet your calorie…
  • free bacon and egg breakfast... yoghurt for me instead
  • Being a fruit thats higher in sugars/carbs than others I try to keep to eating them before lunch time, half sliced over some cereal with breakfast, half sliced in with other fruits for morning tea. A banana is definatley a better idea than a brownie but it also dont depends on the time of day your are consuming it.

  • I'm in the same boat of struggling to eat my calories but just as suggested have tried things like adding 1/8 of an advocado to a salad sandwich for lunch, a small handfull of nuts as a snack in the afternoon, a glass of low fat milk in the morning. I have found that not only does it make reaching my daily calories easier…
  • I had the exact same problem for the first 3-4 days, but seems to be easing up now. Stick with it, the rewards will be worth it.
  • Thanks. It really helps to know that there are others out there in the same situation as I am. In the last 14 months my partner has lost 35kgs, but by in large just not eating. I'm determined to do this the right way so that I am able to maintain it.
