What a great story! I'm so please he came on his own for you and that you had a quick labour and delivery. Love the name too! Take care of yourself. :)

Dawn I really hope you get some rest before tomorrow or that baby cooperates and comes on it's own today. It's hard enough to labour without being exhausted on top of it.
-
Good luck Dawn!

I'm due tomorrow and we don't have a single name for either gander picked. We really are the worst procrastinators. But we get six weeks to pick a name and it's nice to see them first!

Exciting! Really hope it starts for you before Wednesday. The bloody show is a great sign!

It sounds like everyone is miserable! It's a hard time of year to be heavily pregnant. My first was a December baby and we lived in a drafty 17th century cottage and I was glad to be extra warm. I sleep with a folded up duvet under my sheet and that helps a bit with the hip and back pain, but really at this point it's…

Hang in there! It sounds like your having a really rough time. Why can't having babies be a bit easier? The false labour is a nightmare. It's really caught me off guard this time. With my daughter I never even had a Braxton hicks, just the real deal. Fingers crossed he comes soon. Try to get some rest in the day if you can.

Thank you for all the compliments on the quilt. I was hoping it was a lucky charm and that as soon as I finished it the baby would come but no such luck! yay! Babies are starting to be born. Make sure and give us your birth stories when you get a chance ladies, I love a good birth story! Freeasharold: How are you doing? I…

We used cloth on our first and will reuse them again with this baby. I think I worked out we saved over £2000 on diapers over our daughter's 2 years and 4 months of wearing them. They are really easy. I use one called a Bumble and they are held closed by a stretchy thing that grips onto the terry cloth called a Nappy…

We use cloth nappies and I got a great deal on a reusable wipe system called Cheeky Wipes. It came with 25 small facecloths to use as wipes, a plastic box to store them in when clean, a plastic box to put them in when dirty, and waterproof bags for carrying them in a diaper bag (one for clean and one for dirty) and…

I finished my quilt! It's the same 1930's reproduction fabrics that I used to make quilts for my daughter and my niece, except theirs have some pinks and purples in. Since I don't know what this baby is I left those colours out. Now what am I going to do to stay busy?

I looked into it and apparently it can be a sign that labour is not far away. :) Let's hope they decide to come soon.
-
@kristapennie, I hope you go on your own soon and can have the labour you want. Be sure to research all your options with a IUGR baby (if that is indeed what it is) @LauraLouFace, congratulations on your baby boy. He's gorgeous. It sounds like you had a wonderful birth. I've been reading loads of homebirth stories to get…

You are doing so well! My swelling started after a long car trip too (8 hours both ways). A friend told me I had dropped yesterday and I panicked too, and finally got the stuff for my emergency hospital bag (in case the homebirth goes pear-shaped). I'm scared too as it's been nearly 5 years for me.

I noticed we were pretty similar in the weight gain department. :D I'm hoping not to go over 40 weeks, but they let you go to 42 weeks here and I wouldn't want to be induced anyway. My first was born at 39 +4 but her placenta was in really bad shape and I think she was in a hurry to get out. That shouldn't be a problem…

Ha ha, I am so the tube of toothpaste! I do most of my workouts at home so I've started just doing it in bra and underwear, but I realise that's not an option for people who have to leave their house. Have fun wearing your new clothes!
-
Possibly Braxton Hicks? I didn't have them at all with my first but have them this time and they feel a bit crampy. I'd call your doc or midwife though and tell them you're concerned. A quick check over would put your mind at ease and it's always better to be safe.

Happy July ladies! Let's stay strong these last few weeks and have healthy, happy babies! (soon hopefully!)

I was so bloated the first trimester I was worried people would guess I was pregnant and had to wear maternity trousers from 10 weeks. It did go down eventually and I got to wear normal clothes again until about 22 weeks. I agree that peppermint tea was a great help.

3 weeks to go now and I've finally crossed most of this off my list. I just need hubs to finish painting the ceiling so I can put the furniture where it needs to go and the clothes away. I have a friend coming to help me iron on Monday! We have to drive to Edinburgh on Friday (8 hours) for a wedding (I'm a bridesmaid!) and…

My sister had a large fibroid near her cervix and she was induced for medical reasons at 37 weeks. The fibroid stopped her from dilating and she never got past a 2 and ended up with a C-section. It was a very large fibroid though. I bet a lot of women have them and never know and they never cause problems. It's good that…

I agree that it sounds like round ligament pain, and 12 weeks would be a common time for that to happen. Definitely mention it to the doc but I think what you're experiencing is normal!
-
I was just going to say that I had only put on a pound at 20 weeks and my hip measurements were the same as pre-pregnancy but my rib cage expanded big time (4 inches!). You may want to exchange the dress. I'm in the same boat, I'm a bridesmaid this weekend at 37 weeks! My friend ordered my dress before I found out I was…

I weighed in really quickly after my first and was gutted to find I had lost 8 pounds when she had weighed 7lb 11oz. I bet in a week's time another 5-10 will be gone and you will be back at PP weight in no time.
-
I haven't added any additional calories either. I eat to maintainence + exercise calories and have done since second trimester. I've gained 17 pounds at 36 weeks and I'm happy with that. Much better than the 42 I put on with my first. If I'm really hungry I'll eat more, but that doesn't happen often. I'm in the UK too and…

Just under 4 weeks for me and I have nothing ready. Hubby likes to stay in denial until I go into labour so I'm trying to chivy him up. I need to order my birthing pool, get some tissue paper on the conservatory windows so the neighbours don't get a show, pack an emergency bag, iron some baby clothes, get the moses basket…
