  • Hooray! Great news!
  • Oh I'm so glad to see this post today. I'm just sitting here nearly in tears because I just feel so bone weary of the whole thing. My 4 year old has the chickenpox and we've been stuck at home all week and she needs constant entertainment. I've had strep throat for 2 weeks and the antibiotics are making me really tired. My…
  • Ben & Jerry have been my good friends these last few weeks too!

  • I think with hypnobirthing and a doula, you have a great chance of a natural hospital birth. That's what my first was, though it's much easier to achieve here. The midwives really push you to get you through without pain relief, although they did still try to push some interventions on me that being older, wiser, and…
  • I didn't realise you were HBACing! That's awesome!
  • I'm not doing hypnobabies but I am doing another hypnobirthing CD set and I really like it. I am sleeping very well too (as is my husband who listens to them by default). I have even used them on my 4 year old who has trouble winding down to get to sleep. I had an easy birth last time and am pretty relaxed about it anyway…
  • I'm hypothyroid, but I have been in both pregnancies. I put on nearly 50 with my first and at 35 weeks this time am close to 17 pounds. So it can be controlled for me at least with diet and exercise. It's different for everyone though and it may be harder work for you this time.
  • With my first pregnancy I put on close to 50 pounds I think. I never tracked what I ate and did very little exercise other than walking to work. This time I ate at 1/2 pound lose +exercise calories until sometime in the second trimester and than moved up to weight 'maintain' calories +exercise calories. There were a few…
  • Amazing job! Hope that's you finished!
  • That's really good! I don't have before measurements but I can tell from the way clothes fit etc, that my gain is definitely in the bump and boobs. My rib cage has seriously spread though, so I'm thinking baby's lodged up there too. Great work and keep it up! Not too much more to go.
  • I did WW after my first baby and successfully lost 25 pounds in 4 months, but I didn't find it was enough food for me. I think in the end it worked out to around 1,200 calories a day which for me at 5'8, and running around after a one year old just wasn't enough food. I liked the idea behind it though and it did teach me a…

  • I'm 34 weeks and mine is still flipping about and changing all the time. I think the chiropractor is a great idea and I hope it works for you but I also think there is still plenty of time for him to do it on his own. Also a little reminder that when it comes to L & D no one can make you do anything. If you want to try to…
  • I'm willing to give it a try too. If nothing else the fiber should be good for me!
  • I'll probably do 2 weeks off too. If I remember rightly from last time I wasn't very hungry after I delivered last time. I think the breastfeeding appetite kicked in around week 2 so that's probably a good time for me to start. The first few weeks will be just eating whatever I can whip up in a hurry.
  • I think I'm going to take the last two weeks off too. I'm in a wedding at 37.5 weeks pregnant and after that I'm taking it easy. Enjoy the last few weeks of your pregnancy! You've done amazing.

  • Was it from the placenta or from the implantation site where the embryo attached and a clot formed (a subchorionic hematoma? I had a large clot with this pregnancy where the embryo attached and the clot did bleed out. There was the risk of it taking the baby with it if it came out wrong or all at once etc, but it was very…
  • I'm generally working out for an hour 6 days a week and I think it is helping my sleep a lot. I really struggled with this in my last pregnancy and sleeping pills aren't so easy to come by in the UK. I also listen to a hypnobirthing / relaxation CD when I am going to bed at night and I really do think it has helped. My…
  • Aww thanks! I'm really pleased with how it's going after putting on so much the first time around. I can't run because I've got bad PSD but I do everything else I can think of. I love kettlebells and do those 3 times a week and aquanatal classes. I do something everyday and it seems to be helping. I'm a bit nervous because…

  • I don't have PCOS. but I did want to say congratulations and I hope everything continues to go well. You guys must be thrilled!
  • Thank ladies, I;ve ordered it, erring on the bigger side and if it's too big I can take it in as I'm pretty handy with a needle. I'll still be nervous until it arrives!
  • My first kept me waiting until 39 weeks. We went in for a final ultrasound to confirm that she was still breech and to book a c-section (although knowing what I know now I would have tried to vaginally birth her as a breech) and I felt a massive roll while we were sat waiting. Sure enough, she turned. 4 days later she was…
  • Skin-to-skin is a standard practice here now too and can definately help with breastfeeding. A baby laid on it's mother's chest can actually crawl to the breast and attach itself. There are videos of it you can watch that are pretty amazing. I'd insist on it. It's also great for regulating the baby's temperature and heart…
  • I don't understand what the problem is. She is nearly 6 lbs at 37 weeks. You still have 3 weeks to go. She could easily put on 2 pounds in the time and be nearly 8 pounds, and if they are wrong in their guesstimate, be even bigger. I think doctors are way to worked up about these ultrasound measurments. Is your fundal…
  • I wouldn't be without a pair of maternity jeans, but if they're not your thing you could get by with yoga or drawstring waisted pants. Linen trousers quite often have drawstrings. I also have a few jersey maxi dresses that are non-maternity that will do to the end. Long-line tops and tanks and normal leggings are all great…
  • I'm 31 weeks now and I still do a pretty wide variety of things, as I'll get bored doing the same thing everyday. The only things I keep the same week to week are 3 days of kettlebells and one aquanatal class. The rest of the time I'm doing barre classes, Zumba, walking, aerobics and swimming. I had just finished C-2-5K…
  • I'm nearly 32 weeks pregnant and still doing kettlebells 3 times a week. I love them! I burn about 10 calories a minute for an intense routine and more like 8 calories a minute for a less stenuous session. Fitnessblender.com has some great kettlebell workout videos that are free. I can see a massive difference in my arm…
