You must be getting close, how exciting! This may be controversial, but with my first the outfit I took into hospital had the little mittens attached and the midwife was horrified and rolled them back. She told us when babies wore them they couldn't use their hands to feel and as babies learn through touch, they weren't a…

This is so my husband. He is always asking if he is 'allowed' things. I must be a kitchen nazi too! ;)

Thank you for sharing these. I didn't have a problem with supply last time but any excuse to make and eat cookies!

I started my pregnancy in the healthy weight range, but only just. The first trimester I ate at 1/2 pound loss a week and ate all my excercise calories. I lost about 4 pounds over the trimester, but was also pretty sick for most of it. For second trimester I am on maintainence calories with excercise calories and have…

Have you had your Prolactin levels checked recently? It might give you an idea of where you are starting from. I know nipple stimulation can induce labor but I don't know if pumping before hand will help with milk coming in? It can help draw the nipple out before you latch baby on and that might be helpful. I don't know…

The newest recommendation in the UK is that everyone take a Vitamin D supplement while pregnant and breastfeeding. In the UK, it's estimated 80% of adults are deficient, and a recent study suggests that 1/3 of children may have rickets caused by deficiency. So you are not alone! However, there are no studies of such a high…

I drank it in the last month of my pregnancy and also used clary sage oil. I had a fast and easy delivery but who knows if it related? It tastes nice and gets more liquids into you, so it must at least be good for that. They do say not to use it too soon as it can stimulate contractions but I can't really see one or two…

We were the same with our first and decided just to ignore it. Once we actually had her and saw her it was so much easier to pick out a name that we both liked and that suited her. But we did have to ditch our favourite names as the other didn't like them. This time around we aren't worrying about it too much either until…

This one is indeed up to genetics. If you got a bunch during a growth spurt in puberty, that might be an indicator that you will be more prone to them in pregnancy. I only got a few during pregnancy (right under my belly button) that didn't show until after delivery. It's been 4 years since then and they are hardly…

And a link to an interesting artcilce from the ACOG about delivering babies early due to size. http://www.acog.org/About_ACOG/News_Room/News_Releases/2013/Early_Deliveries_Without_Medical_Indications

That's a perfectly normal weight gain, as I'm sure you know. You are entitled to refuse the ultrasound, or go with it if it will prove your point that the baby isn't 'too big'. I put on 42 pounds with my last pregnancy, and had a 7 lb 11 oz average sized baby. My sister put on close to 70 and had a 7 lb 13 oz baby. My…

I'm pretty obstinate, so anyone trying to put me off something I wanted to do would just make me want to do it more. Also I know that as far as childbirth goes, I make the decisions, no doctor can tell me what I am and am not allowed to do. So if it were me I'd be going for a VBAC. But all that matters is that whatever…

I'm planning my first home birth in July. My first was a very quick easy hospital birth and I figured I might as well be in the comfort of my own home this time. :)

How far along are you? *22w1d What # pregnancy is it for you? *#2 What are you doing for your workout? *kettlebells 3x a week for 40 minutes, aquanatal class one time a week, and cardio for 3x a week for various amounts of time depending on how I feel. I'm really enjoying all the free excercise videos on fitnessblender.com…

This is such a great topic, and one I'm sure everyone can relate to. With my first, only my in-laws knew I was in labour (and only because we had to cancel an event we were going to with them). In the delivery room it was just me and hubby and the midwife, although she left for a minute and I had the baby while she was out…

You will need a BBT thermometer, which is a lot more sensitive than a normal one. You can get them really cheaply on e-bay. The best place to start would be a website like fertilityfriend.com, which will talk you through how to do it, and their basic service is free, so you can keep track online. I did the ovulation tests…

It's a lot to go from -2 pounds a week to maintaining. Maybe step it up gradually over the first trimester? I personally kept it at loose 1/2 pound through the first trimester (plus eating excercise calories) and stepped up to maintainence at 2nd trimester. Now at 22 weeks I'm starting to get hungry enough that I sometimes…

Just a thought, but do you ovulation chart with basal body temperture?

Sorry, it's been so long. That's really frustrating. I found trying to take my mind off the TTC process by setting things up to look forward too, holidays/vacations, days out, etc. helped a bit. Or do what I did and plan to start a midwifery course and stop TTC altogether. It was a sure fire way to get pregnant!

Sadly I have a lot of experience with this. I have a blood clotting disorder that caused me to miscarry 5 times before it was diagnosed but the good news is it only took me a month or two every time to conceive again, and this last (and so far successful pregnancy) wasn't even planned. Good Luck, just try again when you…

Full term is between 37-42 weeks, not 41. The risks of stillbirth increase after 42 weeks, but it very minimal.

Free swimming?! That's amazing..

Hello there! I'm afraid I don't have any experience with c-sections or VBAC's but I just wanted to lend my support. I've done a bit of research on induction due to being late as I'm concerned I may go past 42 weeks. Here in the UK a standard induction for being past term would only take place at 42 weeks. Everything I have…

I'm pretty sure that for me at least, the numbers don't add up. :( I'm doing okay at the moment but I know in my first pregnancy I could gain 2 pounds a week easily, even when I was definately not eating that many extra calories. I know breastfeeding efffects my body the same way too. Just focus on the good habits you've…

Hello, I'm nearly 21 weeks and have only gained a pound. I'm not too worried though because I know from my previous pregnancy that I will gain the majority in the second half. A lot depends on your starting weight. If you are classified as overweight or obese you don't need to gain a lot (15-20 I think) but if you are…

Hello, I'm also 21 weeks pregnant so feel free to add me. Also please check out the Fit, Fabulous & Pregnant Board (do a search) to find lots of other people and topics relevant to pregnancy.
