  • I like it on popcorn. I also used to use it to make "cheese" sauces when I was vegan.
  • Mine was a GPS for the car, which may not sound like a bad gift unless you know that I don't drive! My husband certainly knows this so I have no idea why he bought it for me. I'm sure it wasn't cheap either.
  • Yes! In fact this happened to me several times after I had my daughter 5 years ago. You'd think the fact that I was pushing a baby in a stroller would have been a clue that no I wasn't pregnant! Oddly enough when I was pregnant with her, no one realized I was pregnant until the very last month because I gained weight all…
  • Yes, I have this problem! I have a Polar FT4 that's about 8 months old. The problem started a few weeks ago, and seems to be getting worse. I don't know what causes it, but I have to stop the HRM, and move the chest strap around over and over again until I finally get a normal HR. And yes, I always wet the sensors before…
  • I think brown basmati or jasmine rice tastes much better than just plan brown rice. However, I would never eat brown rice plain. I put some salt and butter in it when I have it as a side dish. Sometimes I'll mix it with wild rice and cook it in bullion/broth to make a pilaf. Sometimes I'll just use it a base for stir fries.
  • Generally good tasting products: Quorn, Morningstar Farms, Boca, Gardein, Tofurkey. These are super-processed foods, so you don't want them to be the staple of your diet, but I think eating them occasionally is fine. There's also tofu, tempeh, and seitan, but it does take some time to learn how to prepare them.
  • I've been a vegetarian for 20 years. When I go to a family meal where I know meat will be served, I bring my own food. Not just for me, but enough to be shared with everyone. So like for Thanksgiving, I'll bring a Tofurkey to my in law's house. Generally my husband, myself, and our kids are the only ones to eat it, but…
  • When I did the 30 DS, my knees started to hurt, and I've never had knee problems before. I started to alternate doing 30 DS one day and Turbo Jam (or anything different) the next, and it really helped. I'd say to let it rest for a day, and then try doing a different type of exercise before doing 30 DS again. Honestly, I…
  • I'm 5'3 1/2 and currently weigh 154, and I can see definite muscle definition in my arms. However, I do tend to bulk up in muscle more than most other women I know. I guess it depends on where you want to see the muscle definition. I know that even at my lowest adult weight (118 back in my late 20s), I still had a bit of a…
  • My daughter would love this! What's in it?
  • I still get my normal, pre-diet vegetarian fajita burrito (with all the toppings), however now I cut it in half and put half in a to-go bag before I start eating. I find that easier than trying to stop myself half way through. I tried doing the salad bowls, leaving off the rice and/or other high cal toppings, but then I…
  • My husband got me addicted to the show. I heard that Season 2 isn't coming until next spring.:(
  • My goals are set to lose 1 lb. per week, and my lifestyle is set to lightly active since I have 2 small kids. You'd probably be lightly active also. I don't think anyone with small children can be sedentary, even if you do have a desk job.
  • I'm also 5'4 but currently about 155 lbs. My daily calorie goal is 1370, so yes, 1200 seems very low for you. I would think you'd be closer to 1500.
  • I've always used the actual names--penis and vagina--with my kids. I have a boy and a girl. But I do sometimes refer to the general area as "privates."
  • I just completed P90X Lean about a month ago. I really enjoyed it, however I will warn that it's not the best thing for weight loss. I definitely toned up, lost some inches, and gained tons of muscle, but I only lost 3 lbs. in my 3 months on P90X. That may just be my experience. You may have a totally different one, but I…
  • The Zumba classes I take play lots of modern hip hop songs. She usually alternates between Latin and hip hop, with some bellydance thrown in. So I think it really depends on the instructor what type of music is played. I'd recommend trying out different classes until you find one you like. Just realized I didn't fully read…
  • Congratulations! My goal is to be able to fit into a size 8 also.
  • As long as the person is comfortable wearing it, I don't think there's any age or weight limit. I personally quit wearing one when I got above a size 8, and that was pre-kids. Now, after having 2 kids, I don't think I'd wear one even if I got down to a size 2, unless there were some plastic surgery involved.
  • I saw this on Pigtail Pals. I like it even better with the picture they posted because it reminds me so much of my 5 year old daughter.
  • I've been using it for years, and I've never had a problem. I only use about 1-2 tablespoons though.
  • I'm surprised at how inexpensive these rates are! In my area, they tend to run around $100/hour for one-on-one. Sometimes you can get deals for small groups, or signing up and pre-paying for several sessions.
  • I'm 5'3.5 and my goal is between 135-140. I've been as low as 118 as an adult, but it didn't look healthy on me. I have a large frame and tend to carry a lot of muscle, so I have starve myself and not exercise to get below about 135.
  • My husband and my 2 year old are the picky ones. My 5 year old will eat just about anything, and yet stays extremely thin. Wish I had her metabolism! Thanks for the advice.
  • Take a pregnancy test! Maybe AF wasn't an AF, but rather implantation bleeding? This happened to me once before.
  • I've been a vegetarian for 20 years. I was vegan for about 15 of those years, but during my pregnancies I had some crazy egg cravings, so I started eating them again. Throughout my teens I was bothered by eating meat. I loved the taste of it, but the idea of killing animals really disturbed me. Then when I got into college…
  • According to my HRM, I burn between 500-600 per hour. However, I do Zumba with a really intense instructor. The intensity of classes can be really different depending on the instructor. I've done other classes where I barely broke a sweat.

  • I don't know about Insanity, but this happened to me my first couple weeks of P90X.
  • Wow, I'm embarrassed to say that I had no idea you were supposed to wash it. I leave mine out to air dry after every use, but I've had it for 8 months and it has never been washed. I guess I should probably do that then.:)
  • I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. I do my exercise during their afternoon snack time. I give them some snacks, either rent a kids movie or put in a DVD, and go to the basement to do my workout. I felt guilty at first plopping them in front of the TV so I could exercise, but now I rationalize that I deserve an hour of…
