  • usually about 2 or 3 lbs, but at that time of the month i have found it can be around 5lbs! a few days later i'm back to the weight i know i should be :)
  • You can do this, all you need is that picture of how you want to look at the front of your mind on a daily basis. For me, looking at photo's of me at my biggest is what keeps me going and every few pounds you lose will motivate you further, but you have to stick at it. You'll probably see results pretty fast as you have…
  • i got sooooo bored of doing the same exercise dvd day after day, even though for the first few months it was a great way to tone up and lose weight. Decided to get a bike and cycle as much as the weather allows (i am fortunate enough to live by the sea) and i swim whenever i can!
  • no change yet,but i've only been doing this for 3 months and would guess it takes it little longer than that to affect your cycle....
  • Diary Of A Married Call Girl...it's very good actually!
  • so nice to read stories about positive changes and actually see people supporting each other :) thanks for starting this thread. i have managed to lose 21 lbs over the last 3 months and to curb the emotional eating has been soooo hard for me. I have a husband who works nights quite often so i'd regularly comfort eat out of…
  • my mfp setting is on 1200cals per day but i exercise every day and eat back my cals so it's always more than 1200 (im too hungry!), usually between 1250 and 1400 depending one how much i have worked out. tend not to eat all of the cals back but most of them!
  • on a work day it's a mug of tea and a piece of fruit-cannot stomach much first thing in the morning. on the weekend it will either be wholewheat toast and marmite or cereal (or possibly an egg)
  • that was totally me and although i am still working at it i am getting a lot better at coping with it....feel free to add me any time!
  • nope,i still eat SOME carbs and have been steadily losing a pound or two a week for the last few months. As always, everything in moderation so you won't feel deprived! Nothing is forbidden, just well-managed :)
  • i allow for a treat like some chocolate in my calories every day, making sure im still within my cals and sat fats-definitely keeps me from binging!!
  • did a 20 minute aerobics dvd workout (high impact) and my 500 daily sit-ups,plus a little walk!
  • i'd like to lose about another 14 lbs on top of what i have already lost so feel free to add :)
  • ah well, off to bed. What a waste of time these forums are...even Facebook was better than this and that's really saying something! Think i'll stick to being supportive to MFP friends only, seems to make more sense!
  • not really being superior here, just know i have the manners and common courtesy to run someone down on a public forum even if i do not agree with their thoughts/post...so important not to be judgemental just helpful and give guidance. So don't tell me to 'grow up' please.
  • oh well, guess some folk were brought up with social skills and conversational manners, and some were not...there's no need for rudeness.
  • it's the patronising comments that really make me sigh-by all means give an opinion but comments like the above 'if you need your head patted, go to mommy' or whatever it said, what's the point? What have you gained by adding that at the end of your post?!
  • i totally get her point-there's giving advice and constructive criticism, but some folk are almost verbally abusive....there's no need for it really!i rarely visit forums any more.
  • oh yes! have been on here consistently since the 2nd January and have lost 13 lbs in just over a month (tracker shows less as i signed up before xmas and put on a few lbs,so it's counting from my previous lower weight!). I exercise most days and eat back some of the calories some of the time. If i want something naughty to…
  • i did not like exercise AT ALL until i really threw myself into it. Still have days where i'd rather not but seeing the difference in my body is worth it (plus i get to eat more!) I work part time 5 days a week and have a toddler so work out at home. Those dvd's are pretty good as a lot of them offer 20-30 minute workout…
  • it seems to be working for me,but i exercise and eat some (if not all!) the calories back so can have that extra 200 calories or so a day, which i find a lot easier! between 1200-1400 seems ok to me,i'm 5,5' in height and fairly active.
  • ugh,so much negativity and mocking others on here whether i agree with the OP's or not. It's pretty disgusting to see so many overly opinionated people judging and saying 'it's my way or the highway'. Shame on everyone having a laugh at other peoples efforts.
  • Actually i think it's really rude to tell people what they should and should not be doing-we're all here to lose weight and get a healthier body. Unless folk are seriously threatening their health then i think support is needed, not criticism
  • this has been very interesting reading, although i am sorry to see so many sufferers! It does seem a very personal thing and what works for one person may not work for another. Will try a few different things and see how it goes :) i love my fruit nad veggies so that's not a problem, thank goodness!

  • oh yes,i always save calories for evenings snacks :)
  • i meant stop for the day as in relax for the day...until that point i don't really sit down much! I generally save a little of my daily calorie intake for the evening to i can have a snack with my hot drink :)
  • @faye_anderson i usually have a hot drink (but not coffee) later in the evening and that helps :) it's true that when i stop for the day, about 7.30pm, that's when the hunger catches up with me!
  • @lorenzoinlr i might try cutting out the gluten for a week or two,just to see,thanks :)
