Sorry friend, the diet soda has to go for real weight loss and general health---I know, I know, heart-breaking---but how about plain sparkly water with a little lemon? That's my go-to-drink.

I love running! For those people posting who feel too heavy to run yet---please consider water running, it is a great way to "run" without the negative impact on your body. You can run in place in deep water with a water vest [or even a water noodle in a pinch]. Also, a reminder---folks please don't run on sidewalks as…

Hi, I have run 30 marathons and have trained many women to run. Here are some ideas: 1) Only run on fairly soft surfaces --not the sidewalk for example which is very damaging to knees, but asphalt roads, park trails. 2) Be sure you have decent running shoes. 3) Don't listen to music when you are beginning---pay attention…

This is very common. Drink more water before you begin and have frequent water breaks. You might be helped by an over-the-counter antihistamine--some people are.

Slow down!!! You are going too fast. You can start as low as one and very, very gradually raise the level to a point where you are comfortable [can talk and feel coordinated] and get going. Good luck.

Quick way to lose a few hundred pounds--dump the boyfriend!

As a teacher and education professor I would say this is a very good time to start teaching your 6 year old some compassion. How about working out to a DVD with your 6 year old? Investment in a stationary bike and/or treadmill is a great way to go--I've had both and love them for cold weather workouts. Accept no negative…

He's your best friend! Just love him, that's all. If and when he wants to lose weight he will. Pressure might backfire.

One teaspoonspoon when I'm craving anything---it helps.

I often burn 500-1000 calories a day---by running, biking and walking everywhere. The more you do, the better it feels. Saves on gas to walk to the store. Hiking with friends is a wonderful way to socialize. You can do it!

I've run 30 marathons--and run a lot of miles. Look at a good online guide for your body-type and foot. For example, I have long lean bones with a high arch. I can only wear a well-cushioned, lightweight shoe---Asics. Be wary of going to a shoe store to be fitted, I used to coach women and they would come back from shoe…

It will all be okay. Let today go. Tomorrow eat lots of protein--early and often---at least that's what cuts the carb craving for me. Be good to yourself.

I always eat more protein. I am building muscle--and am careful to eat quality, lean organic protein. Protein helps build muscle and cuts my cravings.

Hey, You can always start by running in water---in a pool---even wearing running shoes in the pool. It is a great workout without hurting your joints while you bring your weight down. Running is one of the biggest joys in my life--mostly I run on trails, but when I've been injured I've run in a pool and it is great. Enjoy!

Quick solution: He cooks his meals. You cook your's. Done!

1) Be kind to yourself. 2) Eat breakfast early---with lots of protein. 3)Log everything. 4) Protect yourself from craving by drinking lots of cold water when you feel it coming on, have a protein snack on your person at all times---if you do lose it, log it and move on. Protein helps me cut my cravings.

Hey, I've run 30 marathons and am getting back into marathon shape after some years off. Here's the thing--when you are coming back you have to allow your body to work at a slower pace for quite awhile--building back up to the pace you want to reach. I want to run faster in training but I know--really know--I have to…

I review the menu ahead of time--and eat something before so that I can just have a salad [dressing on the side]. Also, I drink a lot of water while I'm dining out, sipping it slowly. If I know I'm going out I will work out extra that day too. Good luck!
