I had an abnormal one 3 years ago and they did the indepth one (I won't even try to spell it). I had a strand of HPV. They told me to get a pap smear every 6 months untill it cleared up. I got my first clean one last year. It's really common and I was embarassed when I first found out because it is an STD and they do carry…

I've always been a larger frame than most girls my height too. Naturally more muscular with broader shoulders too. Even when I weigh 125-130 I have to wear large shirts if I want to be able to raise my arms without ripping it down the back like the Hulk. haha. I'd recommend going for a % body fat or talking to your doctor…

So I don't have any kids, but my mom has had 7 and all were c-sections. She ended up getting a tummy tuck a few years back because she got fed up with it. She would diet and her "pooch" wouldn't go away. I can understand her frustration. She had all of her kids by the time she was 24 so she never really felt good about her…

I got random hives once. It started behind my ear and spread from my face to my toes. Nothing I took/put on them worked. I am not allergic to anything that I know of. Not even grass or dogs or cats or peanuts. I ended up going to the doctor who told me it was the worst case of hives she'd ever seen. Which is just weird…

This ^^^. Me too.

Snacking at work. I get bored sitting at my desk and I'll eat the snacks I have in my office. I've been switching out the junk food for healthy stuff, but still... it adds up quick!

It could be that your body is happy where it is. It wants more maintainance calories than it needed before because it doesn't have as much fat to burn for the extra energy. I've heard multiple times that the last few pounds come off easier when you up your calories and lower your weight loss per week. I've got 5 more and…

I was the exact same as you. I would try to diet and "guess" that what I was eatting was good or not. But it never got me anywhere. This site really helps you be accountable to what you eat. I'm not a big exerciser, but just diet alone helped me lose my first 10 lbs. After that I got motivated to lose the rest and now I…

I'm 5'6" My goal weight is 125-130 I am at 135 now I don't mind 130-135 so long as I get toned. It really isn't all about just height and weight. It's also about body frame and build. Maybe next time you go in for a physical you can talk to your doctor about a good percent body fat goal. That is what I'm doing on Friday.

Just out of curiosity, how tall are you? You look great and I'm right at 135 right now. I am not the best at judging myself since I'm pretty critical when I look in the mirror.

I do the same thing. I eat my ice cream and cereal out of coffee cups.

I think it is important to get your desserts in with your diet. Otherwise you are going to be miserable and not want to stick with it. I like to keep ~100-150 calories a day for junk food or something that most people "on a diet" wouldn't eat. It's nice because I don't feel like I'm on a diet, which makes me more likely to…

I weigh myself every day just to keep on track. I do it every morning wearing the same-ish clothes. This helps me stay on track. I only check in once a week though. Sometimes I think it would be more encouraging to not weigh myself for a week or two and step on the scale and see a loss of more than a pound, but weighing…

I'm 5'6" and going for 130. I wouldn't mind being 135 or so if I could build it up as muscle. I'd really like to be in the lower section of "average" body fat percentage. I'm going to get my yearly check up soon and I'm going to ask my doctor what a good goal weight is for me.

I've weighed between 120 and 150 since being 5'6" and I still wear the same size pants. I've always worn about a 6, but I think it really depends on the person and where they cary their weight. When I gain weight, most of it is in my gut. I've got pretty wide hips though so the pants don't change much. The gut hanging over…

Fat is just a form of stored energy. One "calorie" is the amount of energy it takes to heat 1 mililiter of water by 1 degree celcius and the "Calories" in food are actually kilocalories. This means that one food Calorie, is equal to 1000 "calories" (notice the big and little "c"). I won't get too sciency on you, but your…

I actually really like running in the rain. Mostly because I get really hot when I run, so the rain cools me down. If you do go out, you are going to want to get something to go over your ears and some gloves. They are the first to get really cold. I never have a problem with anything else when I run outside so long as…

They are just rude. Good for you for trying to make a lifestyle chage. It is especially hard when eatting out and still trying to maintain a social life. Something that gets under my skin with dieting is that I'm not really that big, so no one seems to understand why I'm dieting. I started on MFP at 5'6" 150 lbs. Not…

I find that calorie counting has worked well for me. It helps you know what you are taking in and being acountable to it. Before I was kind of going at it blindly. With this, it estimates your daily burn off of calories without any exercise, and then puts your daily goal below that. If you stick to it, you will lose fat…

I'm in. I don't really want to lose a whole 10 pounds, but it would be awesome if I could meet my goal weight by the end of April. This should help keep me motivated since I've only been losing about 1 pound/week.

You can find some really good ones on Craigslist.com. I've been considering getting one. I've found a few that retail around $2000 for $300-500 on craigslist. People buy them then don't use them so they sell them for cheap to get the space back at their house.

I also travel quite a bit for work. I know there are buisness obligations for dinner most of the time, but if there is one near by, I'll go to a Safeway or Von's or what ever grocery store might be near me. I'll get something like a sandwich or "smart ones" frozen lunches. That way I can eat healthier and cheaper for lunch…

I hated jogging when I first started. I've always been more of a weight lifter. I'm built a good 15 lbs heavier than most girls that are 5'6" just from muscle. I'm not making that up as an excuse for being healthier, my doctor actually told me that when I told him I was trying to lose some weight. I won't ever weight 110…

I try not to "splurge." I think it is better to have a few sweets a week and take everything in moderation. Splurgeing (for me anyways) can lead into downward spirals of bad choices. I joined this site more for a life style change than for real weight loss. I find that eatting smaller portions (of everything, including…

I find that tracking alone helps with over eatting. It's like a competition with yourself. I also find that exercising makes junk food not worth it. If I eat it before I exercise it makes me sick, and if I eat it after my exercise, I feel like I wasted a work out. Smaller portions are the key though. You shouldn't have to…

Feel free to add me. I've only lost 12 since January, but my goal is 20. It's always good to have people motivating you along the way.

I gained some weight around 14 or 15 but lost most of it in high school when I made a concious effort. I gained most of my current weight after college. I went from working full time at a movie theater and restruant while going to school full time, to working at a desk 40 hours a week. I gained 20 lbs in only about 3…

Reasonable goals. I find that the more often you meet your goals, the more motivated you will be. Don't try to lose 75 lbs all at once, try to lose 5-10 in a month. When you suceed, it gives more motivation to keep going. Progress is always motivating. That and other people. Any one at home to help you keep at it or on…
