Do beverages count? - Almond milk (I don't even bother with regular milk anymore) - Eggplant - Mussels I judge all restaurants on the quality of their eggplant parmesan and mussels lol.

I've plugged my numbers into a few calculators, and I maintain somewhere around 1700 calories. I'm 5'1", currently at 109 lbs. I take MRT classes 3 times a week, and I'll occasionally squeeze in 15 minutes of brisk walking or jogging on the treadmill, usually to prep myself for a heavy night out of eating if I feel like…

As a customer: - People blocking up grocery store aisles with their carts because they're apparently the only damn customer in the fracking store. - People blocking up exits and entrances with their bodies to stop and chitchat with one another - People leaving their grocery store "snacks" all over the shelves (yes, I have…

I've read that for marathon training, it's considered good practice to run 2-3 weeks at your regular pace and increasing as you get better. But for the 4th week, you should run 15%-30% LESS than what you can do. It's a break without actually taking a break.

I think KNOWING the people who lose weight personally makes a huge difference. Watching all those diet pill and exercise video commercials with random strangers claiming to have lost hundreds of pounds never motivated me. I half expected it all to be fake anyway. But when an acquaintance from my hometown lost 80 lbs. in a…

Hm. Considering a heavier person does burn more calories doing the same exercise as a lighter person, purely based on the fact that the heavier person has more weight to carry around, I would assume the weights will help you burn more. Could it be safe to assume that if you plug in your actual weight + the wrist/ankle…

How about Brownie Batter Pancakes from Chocolate-Covered Katie? 1/4 cup spelt flour (or all-purpose or Bob’s gluten-free) 1/4 tsp baking powder 1 tbsp Hershey’s Special Dark cocoa or dutch cocoa 1 and 1/2 packets nunaturals stevia or 1 tbsp plus 1 tsp sugar 1/16 tsp salt 1 and 1/2 tbsp applesauce or oil (using applesauce…

I'd consider myself a runner. I've slowed down now thanks to all the snow and ice covering my beautiful pavement (the treadmill just isn't as exciting). But this summer I ran 4 km (2.5 miles) every 2 days in about 26 minutes at my peak. I also participated in my first races ever! The first race was a 5km. The second was a…

I use a combination of a Jessica Smith DVD (there's a 22 minute cardio section that really burns (:<), treadmill/jogging outside depending on the season, and my own weight lifting and kickboxing drills with dumbbells and ankle weights. 3 or 4 days a week I go to a 45 minute MRT/MCT class where I do heavier weight lifting,…

Oh dear. I ate out today. Had 3 chocolate chip crepes with 2 bananas, a few strawberries, a wedge of cantaloupe, and whipped cream. Definitely over 900 calories. >____> It was celebratory splurge. I regret nothing!

Oh my goodness, I bow to you. Those are some impressive numbers! I'm still just a beginner with heavy weights. These are my current stats: BB squats - 55 lbs. DB squats - 70 lbs. DB lunges - 40 lbs. BB row - 35 lbs. Overhead press - 35 lbs. Deadlifts - 55 lbs. DB bicep curls - 12.5 lbs. DB tricep extensions - 8 lbs. (my…

^This, too. My boyfriend brought me to play paintball 2 years ago and I immediately loved it. It's a really good workout if you can find a big arena and go in a group of 8-10 people (5-6 per team). The less people in the arena, the more you can run around and jump and climb the obstacles. Plus those guns aren't as light as…

Oh man, I never thought of that! We have a really nice café that sells the best coconut cream pie ever. Sometimes we'll bike it there, but running sounds so much better. I like playing frisbee in the park! But we turn it up a notch and try to throw it so the other has to run/dive to catch it. Really makes you work while…

^This. If you can't see it, take some pictures and compare them! You'd be surprised, especially with a drop like that! Amazing! Also, try using measuring tape instead of the scale. Tape can be more accurate. Keep up the great work!

Hm, I think it's not working because you forgot to close your tag.

WOW you are my hero! That is such an incredible transformation! I've been losing weight for a year now and while I participated in two races over the summer, I didn't place. My goal was just to get to the finish line. This year, I'm going for some medals! Your photos are very inspiring!

It's funny because the only reason I decided to do my before/after pics in this manner was because I never actually took "before" pics. I don't know if it didn't cross my mind or I didn't want more fat pictures of myself clogging up my hard drive. So I had to dig through the depths of my old photos to find the most…

Oh wow! That's amazing! And that black lace dress is just KILLER! :D Congratulations!

I posted a topic about my own weight loss success, but here are some of the more dramatic face shots: Left: January 4, 2013 Right: December ??, 2007 [img]http://i1357.photobucket.com/albums/q758/Kitty-Violet/Weight…

Thanks! :) We have a roller-derby team where I live! I was asked to join, but I'm a bloody imbecile on skates. My brakes are the arena walls. 8| Maybe if it was something like floor hockey I'd give it a go lol.

Thank you! I've shopped at a lot of different places, mostly on the web. Around here though, I go to downtown Montreal and hit the alternative section. There's a few good shops there. Also, it helps a lot when goth becomes "trendy" in mainstream fashion haha. I've been buying a lot of dresses from Limité recently.

I'm 5'1"... And I'm pretty sure my opinion of huge and your opinion of huge are allowed to be different.

Thank you. I had a desk job, too. And my situation was made even worse by the fact that I had to spend THREE HOURS traveling to and from work every weekday. It was near the beginning of my weight loss changes, so it was extremely discouraging! I even gained a couple of pounds back in the first week! You just have to fight…

LOL coincidentally, my trainer was taking pics of our class a few weeks ago. He posted them all on his Facebook and I went through, thinking "Wow I look awesome in these!... Wait who's that?" It took me 10 minutes to figure out that the girl doing ball slams in one of the shots was ME. And it was from earlier that day!…

Already got your request, dear! Another nerd over here, too. Hello and welcome from Canada! :)

Thank you all so much for your kind words! This really hasn't been easy! Honestly, anyone who tells you weight loss is easy hasn't actually tried to lose weight lol. I'm totally pumped for the new year and ready to start toning up and increasing my strength! :D

I think it's only possible if a) you have wide hips, as many posters have already mentioned, and b) if you have virtually no fat OR muscle. Muscle is more compact than fat, but there's a reason a bodybuilder's thigh can be the same circumference as a heavyset thigh. I used to concern myself with the trivial pursuits of…

I'm 5'1" (5'6" in some killer goth boots lol) and my original goal was 120 lbs. because I was about that weight before high school and college ruined my waistlne. I actually dropped below it! Now my new goal is 106 lbs. or whatever weight comes with a flat tummy and fabulous muscles.

FOOD NETWORK. :P It's the only channel worth watching on TV anymore, in my opinion. And the TV in front of my treadmill doesn't have a DVD player for movies either. Boo!

Weights weights weights. Weight lifting will build muscles that will hopefully fill out any nagging loose spaces. Arms are particularly annoying, I agree with you on that one! Google exercises for triceps. You can do tricep extensions with dumbbells, tricep dips with a chair, push-ups with your elbows close to your body,…
